Thank you for this video. My father told me that there was a dig on Aboriginal land that my great grandparents farmed in southern Ontario. Apparently some of the artifacts were on display at the ROM many years ago (maybe the sixties or seventies). I tried to look into at the ROM website but have had no luck. The farm was located in Scarborough or Whitchurch. It was either the Canning farm in Whitchurch I believe or his wife’s maiden name was Murphy and her family farmed in Scarborough. Would you have any leads where I could look to find out about potential digs about this dig on either the Canning or Murphy farm? Thank you. My name is Greg Canning and I now live in BC but whenever I come out east I think of this story. I married into the Nisga’a Nation and my kids have been interested in some of the old family stories.

Very cool! I had a summer job with the Ontario government in 1986. During that Bill Fox came out to a site we were at in Milton, Ontario. Some guy was building his house and found a burial site. They found some conch shells and 2 large copper pots. Bill was very funny. I have a picture of him trying to find water with and divining rod! We also went to as site (village) on Manitoulin Island. I believe bill was there as well. Do you know were I can get info on that site? I was helping out with ding the surveying and mapping. Very nice to find this video. I'm pretty sure you were also on those sites too Neal...

How many of the axes in the collections are made from red dinosaur fossil? I think I’ve come across a mine.. the mine is crazy with red dinosaur fossilized bone..... at that site a blood red axe with patterns from the inside of the fossilized Dino bone. It has a slot on one side that could have been for a handle. But it’s not an axe/hammer anymore..... it’s sooooo worn down. Oh and a map of the area created out of stone. Three dimensional. I think a navigation stone. With places of the area. I think maybe settlements etc. What do I do to draw attention to Ontario’s Dino bone bed?

No, not unless it is under a rock overhang or exposed by a blown over tree. It is possible to find stuff laying out along creeks where it was washed out.
