Good eye! No it didn't but it's almost 100 years later and these folks opted to put one in :) There are 6V and 12V alternators readily available for the Ford Model A.

Your set up looks so much like mine, I thought you might live close to where I am. I have the same problem with the blinds "stuck" in closed because of the metal chain. I thought I could fix it myself, how I am not tall enough and it looks too complicated for me to do it myself. I may just replace with black out curtains instead. I have two vertical blinds in different rooms that have the same problem. I can't seem to find a repair person either. But your video was very helpful. Thank you for the website info and what to do.

I have the exact same assembly. Where did you order the pulley system from (and what was it called)? I need to replace the pulley but I’m having trouble finding the part.
Hi Alex, Please make sure to measure everything carefully, I know that we had to do a lot of research and measurements, because a lot of the parts look almost identical. We probably got ours from ebay. We searched for the original receipt last night but couldn't find it. Today we realized that we had posted information about the part in the description of the video that should help in finding it or an alternative even if the original seller is not selling this part anymore. But again, please make sure to check your setup carefully and much good luck in finding the part and fixing it.

I've watched many videos, and glad to have come across yours, which has helped me to get my rainbow vacuum working again. I really appreciate your detail explanation on how to fix and align that small t-shaped plastic piece to activate the power unit. We've used this vacuum for 20 years, and am very happy that we can continue to use it without need to send it for repair. Thank you very much for this useful video.

Oh! That is interesting. I think your comment may be very helpful for someone that has that configuration. I noticed when we went to buy our replacement there are several types. We got the one that looked and measured like ours. Also, taking pictures before disassembling the broken one might help someone starting the project. Thanks for adding your experience. Cheers! :)
