RIP John Hurt 1940 - 2017 and Chris Cornell 1964 - 2017
If you want some explanation as to why I am signing off here you go. My life was very complicated this past year both medically and personally. I had to take care of an inflammation problem and very recently my family has been going through a tough time so my focus has been on them. And to be honest I have not seen very many films new or old that have motivated me to make a video. Film as an art form is getting dangerously stale and repetitive, sure there are a couple of indies that pop up once and a while but other than that I am just getting bored with whats getting produced. To be honest it is not Fantastic 4 (2015) bad; but in the end it is just another modern reboot that only exists to cash in on nostalgia and offers very little artistically. Many have said that the reason why Star Wars is so popular is that it is so universal with its characters and themes; Good vs Evil and The Dark Side vs The Light. The Thing (2011) Why It Didn't Work

(Amended 10-14-16) Ladies and Gentleman I received some constructive criticism from D F who pointed out that the 2011 "The Thing" was indeed a prequel and not a remake. I apologize for any confusion that my description may have caused. In fact, I should have given more recognition to the direction of the 2011 film which took great artistic chances and in no way resembled the John Carpenter film...

Charles S. Dutton Saying "SHUT UP!!!" In Alien³ 01:19
Gene Hackman favorite line in 02:18
This is the only play I'd ever want to see. Was there more homoerotic stuff between Linck and Roma in the play than the movie?
Prequels are almost always terrible. This one was as good as prequels get.
But he was seen and talked with the woman in the newspaper office, as well as Mark. How could Mark see him if he couldn't see the players?
That's one of the faults in the movie - repeated here: it's not a "robbery" but a "burglary".
That's another advantage of watching this fabulous movie - no stupid audience that laughs when there's nothing to laugh about.
“…so you can be reminded of what real movies look like.” Check mate. They just don’t make good movies anymore, and sadly, a large part of the viewership can’t tell the difference.
I don’t think the brother in law scene goes against the “dead” theory. He could been shaking hands with an imaginary person in mockery of Ray.
James Cameron 's Aliens was the best as it has action and guns. Rest all parts are garbage 😅
Only Aliens and Alien : Romelus are good...rest all crap
Excellent analysis
All of the monster effects are stupid in the prequel. John Carpenter got it right. All the alien needs to do is casually walk up to someone and touch them. changing into various aliens in its cellular memory is idiotic. it seems to only do that in the original film when under stress. and if you read the original short story, who goes there, you'll realize that carpenter followed the original story quite well.
I always though whats the back story. If they incounter such a thing, what was it's origin. It hides and with stealth it then absorbes, which it would seem to be more than just an outward appearence . Why has it evolved like it has, what on it's home planet does it hide from and what defences do others from it's planet have for their survival. It's ecosystem is got to be bizarre to us. I like the part of the story that it was a sample species and it was hiding as another creature. Why hide ? Hide from what, what does it fear. What can the other species do that it impersonates them ?
"Thats my field, thats my corn!" Years later in Yellowstone he is STILL going on about "his land"!😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Honestly the spiritual sub-text adds a lot to it in my opinion.
yes they were not far apart! in real life that is!
It worked exponentially well
A second look you say! Really? It's one of my favourite movies.
Not if Kevin’s brother in law saw him on stands before doc graham crossed the line
Always be closing! Words to live by.
And Ghostbusters Afterlife is better than the reboot
Ghostbusters frozen empire is better than the reboot
I always thought he died when Ray drops him off. It explained (to me) why he went from disinterested at the ball game to ready to go on a cross country road trip in one U-Turn in the street. Terrace Mann dies on a sidewalk after taking in one last ball game, but his spirit, freed from the expectations of an equally disinterested public, was free to travel and rediscover himself. JMO.
What I liked about last action hero was the 2nd half. Going through the movie was fine, but when the kid and Jack go out into the real world the movie gets so good. Jack Slater realizes he doesn’t exist. There’s stakes. There’s moments where it looks like they’re doomed. This movie starts slow and ends amazing.
He wasn't a ghost. He was taking a break from being a sith lord and trying his hand at being an author. Sheesh.
Two of the greatest movies ever made. I’ve watched them countless times.
Urgh people reading too much into it when actually the purpose of Terrance was quite subtle but deep. He'd lost purpose in life. He wasn't even sure of his purpose with meeting Ray. The field and the past brought him back to his passion, to write and to promote peace and harmony again which he felt exists in baseball and people's passion for baseball.
Every single time I watch this movie I’m ALWAYS disappointed that Ricky Roma (Al Pacino) was not in the office for the Alec Baldwin scene. I am sooooooo curious how Ricky would have reacted to the way Alec Baldwin’s character was talking to everyone. 😂
well thats the point his presence wasn't necessary as the speech wouldn't have applied to him anyway.
man the aesthetic of this film was also not good, it's so blurry looking and with an orange hue at all times. the set design is very meh. no wonder he quit
Almost cry? I cried my eyes out when the men took the blind man away and burnt his house down On the close up of The monsters' tears. I was around 10 or 11 years old. Dr. Pretorius was funny ro me.
1975 production days buddy.
... He now walks with the greats ... In Ray's corn.... 😥 RIP James Earl Jones 🕯️
Dick Tracy is so underrated and under appreciated. This video kinda proves that! The costumes, makeup FX, cinematography and score all just amazing. This film deserves it's flowers but has largely been overlooked for some reason.
In the beer and hot dog seen they don't react until Ray say two. And the brother in law did see the players after the girl was resuscitated. So I feel the theory still stands.
Mann passed when Ray got the message ease his pain. That's why he was reported missing in the paper
Mann is a ghost so to speak, just as the players were. It’s part of Ray’s story, Mann being the journalist that wrote about those players.
Valid to ask the question but no. Field of Dreams is a story of redemption. Joe, Ray, Ray’s dad, Moonlight, and Terrence. Terrence’s redemption story is to write again. This is why he says it would make quite a story if he has the courage to go through with it [going into the corn]. Ray’s willingness to do absurd things earns other’s redemption too - Terrence, Moonlight, Joe, and his dad. Moonlight, Joe and dad are dead, so their redemption is realized by helping Ray navigate his. Terrence earns his shot at redemption by simply saying yes to a baseball game. It opens his heart to wonder again. And that’s when he sees the message in left field. He was suddenly willing to do similarly extreme things as Ray and that would lead to finding redemption as a writer again.
I was the cameraman who shot most of the interviews for the DVD release. After Mr. Robinson completed his interview, I asked him if Terrence Mann died by walking into the corn. Phil just smiled at me and said it was up to me to decide. So Terrence wasn't dead during the movie, but it is possible that his invitation was his entry into death. Or not.
2:01 I like to think this is the way he went I heard your mind goes wild in your last moments
*Rest In Peace James Earl Jones; may he explore the fields and beyond*
I think Terrance Mann died old and alone in his apartment and no one knew he was dead because he was such a recluse. When Ray knocks on his door, none of the neighbors have seen Terrance in awhile because he keeps to himself. So his ghost is haunting the apartment and when Ray shows up he is an angry poltergeist threatening to beat him to death with a baseball bat. When Ray is not frightened by his threats their friendship between ghost and human begins. Sort of like the relationship between Woopi Goldberg and Patrick Swayze's characters in the movie Ghost. In the hotel room Ray asks Terrance does he know he's missing? Of course he's missing! He's dead!
*woops! It was a crowbar and not a baseball bat. You're a pacifist!
He’s definitely not dead, but there are definitely things left in the movie for us to wonder about, and that’s fine.
Being a salesman is like going gambling.
I have literally been on this field on 5 separate occasions
If you look closely, obi-wan was already gone before Vader hit him with the lightsaber. Also Luke skywalker disappeared when he died in the last Jedi.
yeah you right,in another word, obi wan was suicide
@@thoriqabdurrahman9867 yeah
there's quite a bit to not back this up 1. they're still in danger most of the film 2. they can leave the valley 3. their who families would be there there also wouldn't be any births or predators finding their way into the valley on occasion
Your trash that movie was great 👍
sounds like my former career as a teacher forever getting screwed by principals. I taught computer engineering, math, robotics, and special education. My students were amazing.
People cldnt handle the fact it was anti Hollywood and so dark. And also they killed everyone off. It's a brilliant films tbh. Totally different.
