    What was the air temperature at the time you recorded this? Was it summer?

      Hi there It was a long time ago now so I can't remember the temperature sorry. As I'm in the UK we don't get much of a summer so I'd guess no .

      @@darrenjonesone Thanks for the quick answer!The reason I ask is that I have just finished restoring my led80 and just on cold days, say autumn 15-20 degrees the suction works perfectly, on warmer days I have to use something similar to what you have done with the difference that if the engine is warm and I open the valve to the maximum it just floods the spark plugs, with you I do not see that happening. Did you show this on a warm or cold engine?

    • @CracowGo
      @CracowGo Месяц назад

      I wonder if you really have broken this suction device, I had the same symptoms as you, I installed this valve and it was ok but it did not give me peace of mind. In my case, it turned out that the fuel was too high in the gasser and was getting too much fuel, which was mixed with that from the suction. In addition, the muffler was a little clogged and the spark plug was wet. Check this because maybe it will trigger your suction. This is a fairly simple contraption and is unlikely to fail.

    Hi. What is done to the choke like thats on the airbox side and on the side towards the engine? The only line with that plastic 90 degree fitting. Is it still necessary to keep it on? Can it be plugged? 19 years old this is my first project😂 don’t want to rip anything vital out!

    Where you find parts for a honda nh 80

    • @darrenjonesone
      @darrenjonesone 2 года назад

      Parts are mostly found on ebay .. but got to open the searches to world wide . Go to a parts catalogue on Google and get the part numbers that way its easier to find. My original belt came from hawaii !! . Just could not find one anywhere at the time.

    I’m glad to see as a month ago you still have the Aero. I just picked one up, an 85 though. I feel like my clutch springs are too soft and and my weights are too heavy. The clutch is engaging at high idle and it shifts into high gear really fast. Just curious if you have any insight. Did you have positive results with your changes and what did you end up sticking with if you don’t mind me asking?

    • @darrenjonesone

      Hi soloked. For yours I would take a look at the rollers and clutch / 3 little springs just to make sure it's in good condition. And replace springs if you think necessary.

      @@darrenjonesone Thanks DJ. It sounds like it's the same. I'm trying to find a carb kit for this carb. I can't seem to locate one anywhere here in North America. My issue is there is gas coming out from the bottom overflow tube or sometimes there is gas going into the air box. I watched you video about bypassing the auto choke. Maybe that's a solution for my problem. I may also explore putting a mikuni carb on it. Not sure. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.

    I am the proud owner of a 1984 honda nh80 like yours. I had the same problem as you and many others, but I installed a manual valve at the side of the tank but I have to lift the seat to activate it. I like your idea of making it electric. and that's what I'm going to do. Thank you!
