Little Dove Crochet
Великобритания
Добавлен 20 окт 2023
Hi I’m Faye, thank you so much for stopping by my channel.
I’ve been crocheting for around 30 years now (way before You Tube was born!) there’s not many days that go by when I don’t pick up yarn and hook!
Here you will find some helpful tutorials which will accompany my already well established blog and other social media accounts over on Instagram and Facebook. You Tube is packed full of crochet tutorials already however I hope from my videos you’ll pick up a few new little hints and tips here and there that I’ve learnt over the last three decades. Please bear in mind that I am not a professional videographer!
Please note that I am ENGLISH and all tutorials use UK TERMS.
Be mindful that not everyone uses the same ‘crochet technique’ that you do. There is no ‘right way’ to hold your hook and yarn, only the right way for you!

Hi Faye! How did you do this process in your Roxie color way from your blog? I can’t tell what color they’re joined with. Thank you! So happy you started this channel!
These sweet circle squares are adorable. Thank you for another great tutorial. 🙂
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I'm definitely gonna try this soon😊❤.
So beautifully beautiful and love this pattern ✌🏽💚
Could this be worked for a triangle motif rather than a square one?
@@faybrink-yourhoustonrealtor most shapes can be joined as you go but possibly not continuously as that will depend on placement of the shapes
This is, by far, my favorite granny square!! I've been crocheting for a year now and have tried many, but this one turns out the best! Thank you for sharing!! I love how you start each round!
Teacup bookmark
It is a beautiful twist
Such a good idea! I had magic circles unravel badly in Janie Crowe’s Magic circles blanket and vowed never to do them again!
Yes, I had to remake a whole huge blanket once for a customer thanks to magic circles. The fact that there are tutorials online showing how to repair a magic circle gives an indication of how insecure they are. Never again!
Great video! Just wondering if maybe you could zoom in a bit more? It can be a bit challenging while watching on a phone 😄 Also… how do you manage to avoid making the circle curl inward? I have tried so many things, I even use less tension but my work still curls. So frustrating 🫠
@@CocosMama100 if you view using a tablet/mobile you can usually zoom in yourself using your fingers. If your circle curls inward you either have too few stitches or your tension is too tight
Thanks for a great video, I am happy to see you back on RUclips 😊 which crochet hook do you use?
This is a Clover Amour hook
I love the stitch. I'm having one issue. I have a beaded or line the goes up the blanket when I make that turn. how can I avoid this?
I just found you over on Insta. Your crochet work is so perfect and pretty. Thank you for this video. I’m going to give it a go for a blanket for my boy. ❤
Beautiful look but the UK terms wreck my mind 😂
I’m English so I use UK terms
@@LittleDoveCrochetOh I know. There’s nothing wrong with it. ☺️I’m just used to US terms, so I had to keep reminding myself of the difference when watching.
i could listen to you all day❤
Nice to see you on you tube. I’ve admired your work for some time. The blanket at the beginning, with the blues…..what yarn is that? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m looking for a nice self striping yarn for a mosaic blanket for my grandson.
Love this edging 💗
Bonjour de Montréal, J'ai regardé plusieurs de vos vidéos et je suis une fan. Votre technique est impeccable et vos harmonies de couleurs sont toujours magnifiques. C'est un bonheur de vous suivre. Merci beaucoup ❤
This is so pretty🥰👌🏻!!
Belle réalisation. Félicitations 🎉🎉
Hi may I know the yarn and yarn colours u have used here?
@@sadeeqah you can find the info on my blog here littledovedesigns.co.uk/blogs/news/rain-beau-sunburst
Hi Faye, Checked your blog and Instagram, and could not find the yarn and colours for this blanket. Is it possible to give the details. Thank you 🙏🏾
How do you join 3 sides than of a hexagon?
@@siskestitches in the same way 👍🏻
@@LittleDoveCrochet I am struggling with the 2 corners… with the triangle and than I have stitches short or too much on my sides
@@siskestitches I’m not sure I understand what you mean about a triangle. All your hexagons if made correctly will have the same number of stitches along each side and all sides are joined in the same way.
Followed your video minute by minute but it still doesn't look like yours? I have quite a few gaps (doesn't look snug) and it's still found not square? Any help greatly appreciated 😊
Sounds like your tension is loose if you have gaps, perhaps try a smaller hook. I’m not sure why it’s not square, could also be a tension thing
Her double crochet is actually a single crochet in US terms
What type of hook are you using? I can not find a pointed-tip crochet hook.
@@janebiancan.8726 Clover Amour
@@LittleDoveCrochet thank you!
I love this. It’s gorgeous
Lovely colour combination and as always excellent instructions. A definite next project. Thank you Faye.
Thanks so helpful!
thank you. I am following a beautiful african flower sweater pattern which has very limited guidance. This has been very helpful. ❤
What yarn did you use for the thumbnail blanket?
Thank you for showing your technique! I'm a turner after the end of each round as well, but I did learn something new today! I love how you start the next round with a double crochet and chain! I didn't know to do that - I have always started with either 2 or 3 chains. I love how it really does look like a treble! The things you learn by watching videos!
Thanks . Perfect
Could I ask which yarn specifically you are using? I really love the colors! I really like the way you don’t use a lot of chain 1 spaces. Keeps it nice and tight.
Thank you at last moss stitch easily explained.kind regards Susan Nevison 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Muchas gracias por su explicación tan clara, me quedo bonito.
سلام آموزش اینکار ازاول رو تو کانال گذاشته اید؟
I have found this so helpful with the granny square blanket I’m working on. Much more uniform than every square being a random colour, which is what I was originally doing. Thank you.
İnstağramda gördüm sayfanızı RUclips de buldum. Harika renkler tasarımlar ellerinize sağlık çok güzeller 🥰
5/8/2024: Your blanket is BEAUTIFUL 👍🏾👍🏾🍎
Great tutorial, thank you Faye. I've just ordered the yarn as per your blog. Can you tell me the approximate size of the finished blanket before applying a border. Many thanks.
thank's so much for this video!! This blanket is so so beautiful, I love so much the colors!! 🥰 😘from France
Stunning 😍
Thank you xx
Thank you for the tutorial! How would we change colour with this pattern please?
Thank you, that's a very nice and easy way to join up granny squares.
I just saw your instagram with the blanket and i am going to crochet a baby blanket. Thank you for the tutorial...
Thank you for watching
How do you wash your project?
I use acrylic yarn which can be machine washed
So nice to see someone else crochet the way I do.!! I am self taught during lockdown but because I have always been a knitter it was the only way I could do it. Beautiful blanket, how many balls of yarn are needed please x
Thank you for watching! I’ve not quite finished this one yet but I would suggest less than 100g for each of the colours in the squares and possibly just over 100g for the joining colour
Me, dropping my current project and starting this beautiful blanket 😊. Just stunning, and perfect for Spring here in Wisconsin!
Looks great, iIll give it a go! Just had a look at your blog but it doesn't mention how many skeins of yarn to use. I realise it's not finished but I hate not having enough yarn to finish
Thank you for watching. I haven’t finished it yet but I would suggest less than 100g of each colour in the squares and possibly just over 100g for the joining
Love this , I’m going to give it a go
Do you also have a tutorial for adding the cute Pom Pom border?
Hi there, sorry I don’t, will confess I’ve never done a pom pom border 🙈
Thanks! I really like the white border on this blanket. Maybe Pom Pom was the wrong description. 🙈
