Great 👍!
Hi Matt, I've watched some of your drum videos and I'm impressed by your drumming 👍 Great class 👍(+1) and my *SUBSCRIPTION* 🤩 Friendly musician greetings....from Germany....Engelbert 😊:)) 🙋🏼♀*•♫♪ PS: I have a question and will contact you by email - I hope you don't mind 🙋🏼♀
@@Angelsen56 Hello, thank you for your kind words. Feel free to contact me by email. Thank you
@@MattSudeta Thank you, I just wrote to you ♫♯♪ 🙋🏼♀
Beautiful looking and sounding kit, what finish is that?
Thank you, the finish is: SAC Sunset Australian Acacia Burst
sooo underrateeed
Interesting video; thanks for posting. Assuming it works by quantifying tension on the nut, to me that is always going to be plus or minus due to frictional variations. I am with you to use your ears. The tension, to me, can be adjusted manually by hand-feel to also get them matching and near to final adjustment by ear.
@@StationaryDingleberry I use drum dial when I need to, for me drum dial was good learning curve, I thought that drum dail will make same sound on every lug, same sound and same tension are different thing. I started tuning my drums listening for the sound, finger tightening all the lugs and adjusting to make even sound around the lugs. Thank you for your comment.
@@MattSudeta Yes, the interesting thing is there is obviously some other variable than simply lug tension... to me that makes some intuitive sense. There is going to be "noise" (inaccuracy) in the tension measurement due to frictional variations in the bolts/lugs and the translation of that tension to stretching the head. Sorry for bad pun...
Nice job man
Sounds fantastic ! Do you prefer Star Bubinga more than Starclassic Bubinga?
@@Eric_Cartman83 I love them both, they are very different drums Starclassic Bubinga has thicker shells, Star sounds amazing despite thinner shells. I like them both, it’s hard to say which one I prefer both drums are actually different, they have similarities but still they are different.
Interesting.. i thought that star would be better because their price is much more
@@Eric_Cartman83 I am drummer who looks for the sound, both drums are very expensive Japanese Starclassic is very expensive as well. Tama Star is 12k USD. All the time I switch between 3 drumkits Tama Star Bubinga, Tama Starclassic Bubinga or Sonor prolite maple.
Gorgeous drums, tuned nicely, and I like your drumming.
@@steverichdrummr Thank you
Очень круто получилось...

Smooth, I like the three kicks in a row at around :48. Also tom’s are sounding great!
@@RUclipsdrumvids thank you
I love your drum kit, beautiful finish! I know it's hard to collect view my friends, keep going don't stop! You got a good sound!
Thank you!
Wow this is very beautiful my friend! I enjoyed watching it 😊 I made a cover of this too btw 🙃.
Thank you

Who knew tuning drums would be a deep reflection about my life
Im so sick of drum tuning videos...
fun fact, you dont have to click on all of them 😱
You’re doing too much in an effort to play something wicked awesome and it’s killing your groove. You’re not particularly comfortable with the parts you’re playing yet and your rolls aren’t there. Focus on evening out the double bass with a solid ride or hat groove and very slowly incorporate interesting fills or dynamics into it. Best wishes.
This practice session. I agree with you 100% purpose of this video is for me to be aware of my mistakes, that I can progress more.
@@MattSudeta Went through your other vids too. Consistent theme. Keep up the grind and you’ll make it.
@@jasonbourne226 sometimes I push myself little bit in order to check my level. Consistency and practice is the key thank you for checking my video. I am practicing almost daily some things I can’t pressure or speed up. Thank you
Forget about tuning, that finish on your Tama Star Bubinga is GORGEOUS!!! Seriously though, fantastic video. You popped up randomly on my recommended, and I am very glad you did. Subscribed.

Nice one buddy., beautiful drums you have there!
Thank you so much, love your drums and your channel!!!
Thanks buddy…Hey funny thing, I bought a spare d505 cause they’re hard to find. I’ve only using the origins I’ve had and was just mentioning to my wife I should sell it. Let me look info what they’re going for these days and get back to you. I’ll send you a few pics of it if you want. It’s in great shape and everything works perfectly. It’s at my rehearsal space so might take a few days. If you want hit me up with your email and I’ll send more info and pics there.
this is no easy. good job. keep going!
This is based on my variations from Handel's passacaglia that I made here on youtube on 2006-2009. So not Halvorsen arrangement, which is for string instruments.
I understand.

thank you
The TAMA factory in China are TAMA employees with Japanese management. TAMA owns it. Everything is made in house. The only other company that doesn’t contract to third parties is Pearl.
I love both drum kits. Amazing drums! Those 2 drum kits are different they are not the same.
@@MattSudetawhat’s the difference then
@@Greenhornet204 Every drum kit is different. I would kindly suggest that you listen recording.
@@MattSudeta yes I’ve listened I’m asking you what the differences are what they’re attributed to if you can nail that down thanks! 🙏🏼
@ Japanese Starclassic is more expensive it seams that people in Japanese factory are masters who pay more attention to detail. Japanese Starclassic is hand crafted. That doesn’t mean Chinese drum kit is worse they are 2 different drum kits. Japanese Tama Starclassic shell is thicker, Japanese Tama Starclassic has wooden air rings Chinese has metal ones. Sound and projection of those 2 drum kit is different. Tama Japan has nicer finish that is my personal opinion. I recorded with both drum kits they are both amazing in studio. This all that I noticed, my focus is sound and feeling. In order to understand difference of both drum kits you need to see and feel its hard to explain.
I listened to this multiple times, very well played and very clean i must say.
Bravo, molto bravo
whats with the rabid pigeon cooing? reupload cool groove tho
Good :)

Please do the comparison again with same heads. This is the eternal question for Tama fans or Bubinga fans.. I have the Chinese btw.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I own Japanese Tama Starclassic, Chinese Tama Starclassic was borrowed from my friend, can’t change the heads. I just wanted to feel difference.
@@MattSudeta I understand.. And ? Did you see the difference or it wasn't noticeable? Your answer would be a treasure for me. I am actually interested in terms of sound..
@@Eric_Cartman83 There is difference, what I can say about both kits are amazing! Every drum kit is different Chinese Starclassic Bubinga comparing to Japanese drumkit they are made differently, I feel that Chinese drumkit has shorter response little less attack. To be honest I like them both. And there is huge difference in price. I like Chinese Tama Starclassic Bubinga they have amazing sound. Japanese drumkit is made with more details they have wooden rings. It hard to say as I said I like them both.
@@MattSudeta thanks! 👍
Can Matt nice it's me Ryan
Thank you!
Wonderful!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍
Super einen Gruß aus Deutschland
I like it I like it very much
nice
great work
Thank you.
ruclips.net/video/veay9YnqvbI/видео.htmlsi=9-c6UvkjlFy2nC-q Here’s a sample of the starclassics deep and thunder like🤘
It is hard to tell which is actually better because heads are different and maybe tuning.
Very hard!!! They are different drums completely, totally different response. Heads are different Tama Starclassic Japanese has emperor on top bottom ambassador Chinese Tama has Ambassador on top bottom Ambassador. Bass drum heads identical, tuning is identical used drum dial and my ears in order to make sure it’s identical. Japanese drums has different response, as I said both drums are amazing. Japanese shells is 1mm thicker than Chinese in my own opinion Japanese drum responds quicker so it’s hard to say. I am sorry about the heads.
@@MattSudeta I didn't know that Japanese has thicker shells. That's the key. I personally like thicker shells on drums but not too much thick.
@@ivanbajovic3476 Japanese drumkit is just made better it has wooden air rings, Chinese has metal ones. I noticed that Japanese drums are made certain way there is so much attention to detail versus Chinese drum kit it has the sound everything is amazing don’t get me wrong on Chinese drum kit as well as Japanese. But you can see that Japanese standards are higher master made this drum kit. Japanese drums are more expensive. Finish is made by wood artist. Don’t get me wrong for years I was playing on Chinese Tama on my RUclips channel there is bunch of videos with this drum kit. If I need to chose one yes Japanese is better and more expensive. This is just my opinion. In terms of sound the sound is amazing in studio.
solid
You've played the drum immaculately, staying in tune with the music.🥁🥁🥁
Nice clean sound
Promo_SM 💕
Nice. Damn, that brings back so many memories. Way nice kit, bro!
BRAVO!
Thank you
Sorry, but this sound like a cheap drum kit. Tama doesn't need that much muffling.
Sound is personal thing to any drummer cheap or expensive. What do I do with unnecessary ring in studio? After carefully choosing heads that soothe Bubinga drum sound the best, tuning, muffling drums, miking, mixing after all this work if my drum sounds cheap then you tell me what do I do to make it expensive? I am all ears. Tama Starclassic Bubinga 6000$ drum kit.
He don’t know, I have a starclassic bubinga. After setting it up for first time in years I came to the conclusion that it’s sounds amazing(best to me) with tom’s as low as you can tune them and an evans emad on the kick
@@RUclipsdrumvids thank you for sharing I will try to low tuning and those heads.
@@RUclipsdrumvids Do you tighten your front bass drum head on medium or low?
@@RUclipsdrumvids could you please share which heads that you are using top and bottom, I would like to try to tune them as low as possible.
