Quarterback Evan Simon and Wide Receiver Dante Wright following Temple’s 18-15 win over FAU
We played hard today, ending wasn’t what we wanted but they showed heart out there. Evan seems like a good kid and he’s a solid player, I hope he sticks around for another year.
Back to back picks tonight. Come on man. Do Better.
I hope Temple has a good year . But the big 5 will Never be the same at the Howard Porter and Ken Durrett Days
Tulsa in Year 3 should have been a blowout with Temple’s quality of Players. However, HC Drayton and his Staff of OC Langsdorf and DC Whithers could mess up a wet dream!!! Temple should be 6-1 right now. With ECU coming up with an interim HC, Temple could have been 7-1. However, Temple is 2-5. Why? Although HC Drayton was hired as a RB expert, using OC Langsdorf schemes, Temple RBs this season are: 2.8YPC, 623 total yards, and only 3 TDs. This is the 3RD straight year where passing totals 65% of YPG and 75% of PPG. Over half of all points are scored by Special Teams!!! Temple played 4 Opponents using a variation of a Triple Option scheme. Over RBs, if played in a Power Running scheme using a FB and TE Blockers, would consistently achieve 150YPG. However, our Coaching numbnuts HC Drayton and OC Langsdorf have stubbornly refused to use any scheme other than the Pistol Spread. If AD Johnson does not fire these losers by Season end, then he needs to be replaced too!!! PS: My previous replacement suggestions for HC included HC Ken Niumatalolo. However, he is now 5-2 at San Jose State in the MWC, so he is probably not available. The Toledo (MAC) HC Jason Candle might be available. He gets paid with a base plus bonuses for wins. I would consider hiring HC Mike Houston formerly of ECU under the right supporting Staff. For example, retaining STC Adam Scheier is a priority. I would hire Duke Coach Gabe Infante as DC. I would like to OL Coach Chris Weisehan promoted to OC if he is willing to use the Power Running scheme he used at Temple in 2015-2016. This would maintain Temple Coach continuity and make our Football Team win again.
HC Drayton, your OC Langsdorf and DC Whithers are horrible. You are a Manager, not a Leader. You Offense Scheme cannot run. Our last 4 Opponents can run using Triple Option. Without going Triple Option, Temple needs a Backfield with FB and TE Blockers. Our Temple D has no idea to contain on Triple Option Offenses. To all of these issues YOU offer NO corrections over a 3 Year period. You are clueless. You can call me any time via AD Johnson, but I did email you my contact info.
NIL, NIL, NIL. D1 players all over the country looking for playing time. Also, some good players in Southern and Big Sky conferences. No less than ten transfers per year.
Welcome to the Redskins
Welcome to the Flock💜🖤
DC bound! Let’s go!
As a VA Tech fan I wished he stayed, but hopefully he gets a shot at NFL
I watched him at NDSU. He's a RB, FB, TE, who can also play QB. I wish he would have stayed at NDSU and they had him play TE, RB, or FB. He's a good kid, a gifted athlete, but realistically not a big time QB. Had he played any position other than QB, I do believe he'd be NFL bound.
I cannot believe what I am hearing from HC Drayton!!! With a whole new crop of Defensive players, HC Drayton is downplaying the scheme change. Yet the scheme change was simple enough for a whole new crop of players to master enough in Spring Camp to limit Temple Offense after a few early plays. So what about a seasoned Temple Offense? I getting tired of HCs and OCs trying to blame players for their Pistol Spread Offense failures. If HC Drayton and OC Langsdorf continue to avoid Temple’s proven successful Power Running/Good Passing Offense. This is a shame, on Coaches not comprehending how to Coach to win. I could not make Cherry & White this season. I was discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon, after 3 days of antibiotics and saline to clear a bladder infection. I just had no energy to travel to 2 1/2 hours to Temple and back. Nevertheless, I have my Football Season Tickets. I will be at every game. If Temple uses the same Offensive scheme that got us 3-9 Seasons 2X, it will be hard to watch.
Congratulations to the MBB Team!!! Now beat Charlotte!!! Go Temple Owls!!!
Totally agree this was a Ref controlled game. Does WBB have a flopping rule? Temple players did not Charge the number of times Refs called Charges. Many Rice players used their arms not to block balls but to manhandle Temple players. These instances were mostly non-calls. I do agree Temple should have shot more 3s. Taylor and Gary passed even when open. This was frustrating.
Refs were so bad in this game. Completely ruined the way Temple plays. Also wish Nelson would have showed up for the tournament.
Temple previously beat Tulane by 18 away and 17 at home. Temple should have 20 wins for HC Richardson this Year 2, tonight!!! Go Temple Owls!!! Beat Tulane!!!
"Temple men’s basketball game against UAB flagged for unusual gambling activity" - LOL. Go Blazuhs! Who is Adam's bookie? Vegas had a clue that something was coming. LOLOLOL.
the unusual betting activity, slow start and final score paints a terrible picture.

Congratulations Temple WBB, AAC Champions 2023-2024!!!
Tulsa had 3 tall post players. We had trouble stopping them. As much as this loss hurt, we are still in a 3 way tie for 1ST Place. I did attend. My car broke down and I had to take 3 trains and a light rail to get to Temple. I left at noon and got to the bar at 4:30. On the way home, I left at 8:15 just after Halftime. I got home at 12:55AM. The remaining games I will have to watch on ESPN/ESPN+. However, my heart will always be on the court with HC Richardson and this year’s Team.
Another spectacular win by Temple WBB!!!
What game and what a full Team effort!!! My only regret is Washington not getting double, double to bookend East. 1ST Place!!! Now win out; do well in the AACT; and then go deep in the postseason!!!
What a great win!!! Players took time to make shots. Even in the air, there seemed to be a last second look before shooting.
We should have won by more, the an actual buzzer beater win did have me hanging on every possession. Our % of attempts versus baskets was horrible today. Many were rim outs. But Temple WBB Defensive is fantastic. Where was Molina today? Many of our shots after the 12-2 initial run looked rushed. This was especially true for 3s. We need to pause sometimes just as the shot is about to go into motion to ensure the launch is on target. The next 2 games determines who will lead this AAC Conference. Let’s go 2-0!!!
My goodness i thought that was Shirley Caesar
The Officiating was horrible!!! Most games Fouls are close to 50%-50%. If a team is immature, NOT this Temple Team, the calls may go 55%-45%. In this came the Refs called Temple 64% to Charolette 36%. This is BS. The Refs were 2 makes and a female. The female did other Temple games. The 2 male Refs should receive a complaint from Temple via the AAC Board. Nelson, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You and East are Team leaders. Piper, Molina, and Solis in the post has completely changed Temple this season. A shout out to Mighty Mouse Taylor. She came in at the final seconds to help close out a win. We might actually finish this season in a great position Regular Season and could be an AACT winner!!!
Things to keep cleaning up: passing around big and lanky opponents!!!
Miller is a standout Guard among a Guard heavy Team. Settle is an exceptional Center/Forward. He dribbles with control like a Guard. He shoots 3s like a Guard. He rebounds like a Power Forward. He does get steals and some blocks. Today he positioned very well. Temple needs another Settle type player. Is the Transfer Portal player Sheldon to answer? Maybe he needs a Temple practice game.
I wish the 2ND QTR was the same as the 4TH QTR. If will played hard in another QTR we might have won. The 3 shooting was unacceptable. If you cannot make it on a particular night, drive an shoot. Piper did better at positioning for rebounds. Where was her help? UNT has 3players positioned for rebounds on every shot.
It was a nice victory. I have 1 things I would like to see change: Rebounding on both ends. Piper and Tucker seem to get underneath but the guards have to come in on shots to get space between outside and post. We did this in our early OOC games and have gotten away from rebounding 2ND chance shots.
They were lit up by UNT! No answer for the UNT receiver #9. Damn!
Happy to hear Trey is crushing it!
A lot of international MBB players.
QB Douglas looked good. TEs will make a difference. Could QB Patterson do more as HB Patterson? Will Temple be using TEs in a crunch in a FB role? We Temple fans can only hope!
I was disappointed Aaron McKie was not given another year. I would have given him a chance to: 1-replace an Assistant and get an immediate extension; 2-don’t replace an Assistant and: A-have a winning OOC season and get a 1 year extension, or have a losing OOC season and get fired. Some will say this ship has sailed, so here are some alternatives: 1-Pat Kelsey, HC Charleston; $1 million buyout; record: 234-114, .672; knows part of Temple recruiting footprint. 2-Jason Williford, A-HC Virginia; not an HC; has helped build a winning Virginia team with a NCAAT NC; knows Temple recruiting footprint. Temple needs a MBB HC hire with a winning HC record looking for a bigger market to succeed in OR a P5 ACC Assistant from a successful team projecting a place Temple to go as a program. I agree a Philly AAU Coach and HS Coach have to be hired to build immediate recruiting pipeline. I would also hire a Transfer Portal expert like Texas Assistant Coach Brandon Chappell. PS: NO Langel!!!
Temple D is back. Temple Offense has a a dynamic QB. Temple RBs need help. Maybe OC Langsdorf will add a FB at some point. Special Teams needs a FG Kicker. As a growing Team in Year 1 of the HC Drayton Era, you do not know when our games will gel and take a leap forward. I look for wins over Memphis, Tulsa, Navy, USF, and ECU in the cold. UCF, Houston, and Cincinnati are tough. However, playing competitively presents well. UCF is away but off a BYE. Houston is away. Cincinnati is at home. If Temple can go 1-2 with the 3 teams leaving the AAC, it will be a fantastic Year 1 at 8-4!!!
