Hello RUclips! and welcome to my new channel. My name is Rob, and I am a hobbyist do it your selfer and watch enthusiast. I have 3 US Patents as an amateur inventor, and am an avid hobbyist for everything DIY and watch making. I dabble in many things but hold an advanced understanding of watches and watchmaking and have a history of manufacturing products for consumer products over 9 years.
That said, I have a passion for fixing things that are broken, building essentials from parts, or fabricating or inventing new things all together. In each project I will strive to complete a high quality build.

Flying Nightmare! Forced to land at night with no power in my Cessna Skyhawk.
Early piloting experience where I lose electrical power at night and am forced into landing without lights while flying a Cessna 172 from Austin to Wichita. It was a bit of a hard landing. Unfortunately it was before cameras were prevalent on phones so no actual video from the landing. But at just 10 minutes from my destination, my main bus fuse tripped power, leaving me without critical electrical systems and a total loss of GPS navigation. With only my skills, manual tools (watch, maps, flashlight, and experience) I managed to finish navigating and had a bit of a hard landing without landing the landing lights because I flared too early. No damage to the aircraft, me or my passenger.

Ford Focus 2014 Windshield Trim Replacement On the audio, sorry about the sniffles. I wanted to get this video out and I am having some allergies or maybe it's a cold. This was shot on my iPhone 13, and then put together with the Splice app. I was off on the video shooting a bit, and so the video isn't always centered. Sorry about that. But the job is so easy, I thought it would be okay. Litera...

What do I do when it won’t bleed but it’ll go thru filter I’m having issues
@@brandonhorstman1774 not sure what you’re asking - sorry. Are you saying the fuel isn’t flowing through to the pump?
@ so my fuel line got eaten up causing a leak and I fixed that and changed my primer pump because it was leaking I primed over 1k times atleast I see it flowing thru return and where filter is also the little filter by primer is new and I got 6 gallons of diesel in the tank I keep hearing a knock and I know it’s a misfire I can’t get to bleed correct in w123 is the first thing to do turn crank to 10btdc then prime?
Awesome!
@@hectoraceves1494 thank you!!
I liked Without the coating.
Awesomeness
Does anyone do laser for custom dial logos in the USA?
People do custom dials however they are usually quite expensive. At 20 to 30 hours the cost would be $500 to $750 to make a dial if they were to charge just $25 an hour just for time.
Didn’t even go over the Wi-Fi connections. Haha
How do you make engravements? Machine or manually?
@@jadugar3518 when possible I will use a machine. Either laser etching or with my vertical mill. I do use a graver to remove small imperfections when necessary as well. There is a lot of hand refining once I machine something until it is finished (sometimes several hours of work) and then I hand paint or enamel each dial. I also have two metal lathes; however I haven’t used these as of yet on dials. I would imagine I would likely use this only to reduce the dial size should I find that necessary.
Wow! I saw you on here, and then Instagram, and followed on Facebook. Your work is stunning. I sent you a direct message on Instagram. It will be in your requests. I look forward to seeing the next thing you are working on.
@@SB-he1cn thanks. I appreciate it. I am not full time right now and am on a pause until December 15th traveling and working on other projects. I will swing around to you after I get back.
Great video. Thanks. One thing. Don't buy an expensive plastic tool for removing the trim, a lego tool that comes with most lego kits did the job perfectly for me!🙂
@@eisenhorngaunt great to hear and wonderful that you repurposed a tool to get it done. I love hearing about innovative ways and tricks and tips. Thanks for sharing!!!
I’m trying to make my own Seiko AP mod. Would you be able to mod a nh35 movement dial to have my last name and LP similar to the way AP shows. How much would it cost
Can you please tell me where I can pick up the union that fits the 1 1/2" to 2"
I got mine at The Home Depot. But I would guess any plumbing supply store or hardware store should have what you need.
What is the exact size of your union fitting that goes into the pool pump? 1 1/2"
amazing transformation!
Could you add laser printing logos onto an existing watch face?
@@jefsiv not likely. It could cause a lot of damage to the watch dial due to the heat. The finish, if anything but metal only would burn and anything held on with glue or shellac would fall apart. Thanks for the question and for watching the channel. Much appreciated.
@@jefsiv three options that could work though would be pad printing to add to a dial, water slide laser printed additions, and adhesive metal or other material stickers. I would imagine someone talented enough could also hand paint the dial.
Do you have a link to the blank you are using as well as the laser you're using? I'd love to do some of this.
It is a Raycus 50W fiber laser. I don’t have a link to it as I imported it myself which I don’t recommend doing unless you have extensive experience working with complex imports (FDA inspection required and they reject a good handful). As far as the blanks go you just need to good 50mm brass round disc .7mm to get what I am using. .5mm to .7mm all work but if you want to use .7mm you will need to use a movment with a higher hand height installed. For instance I use HH5 on an ETA with my custom dials.
what laser are you using? I'd LOVE to do this.
Raycus 50W fiber laser. Make sure whatever you purchase supports LightBurn.

Having a wiring issue
how did the pump hold up all these years later? any leaks or failure? thanks
@@patrickt840 I am guessing this is a 3 season pump. I have had freezes nearly every year that has damaged the pipes causing the pump to run dry or freeze itself. So far I haven’t had to replace the pump due to motor failure and the longest I’ve run it is 2 years before one of the other contributing factors have led to replacement. This is one reason why I stopped buying $1200 to $2000 pumps. It has never been the motor failing that is causing me to replace my pump. Usually it is climate (freezes) or another pipe bursts causing my pump to run dry which will damage the plastic housing and the windings/motor.
I plan on continuing with this same brand until it is no longer available for purchase. I am very satisfied with the performance and value it provides.
Thank you for your effort, but this video did not help me at all. You moved the camera too much, and did not show the details like the clips. Joe
@@kathyortiz8774 appreciate the feedback Joe. I will try to be better. I am am not very good at holding the camera while I work. Sorry it wasn’t helpful.

Pretty cool dials. ❤
The clips on my sisters car are all broken. Would windshield have to be replaced if I wanted to change the brackets for the trim?
@@LuisMorales-sc7rr no. You should be able to glue in the trim with a rubber cement type glue like shoogoo or E6000 glue. But make sure you put enough glue at the tops and the bottom to secure it so the wind doesn’t remove the trim for you at 80mph.
@@LuisMorales-sc7rr if you want to replace the brackets I am not sure of the procedure as I haven’t had the windshield out on this car. Sorry. But the windshield should be reuseable. I cannot imagine it needs to be replaced. Probably just the seal and the brackets.
@DangerDIY awesome, thanks for taking time to reply. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
@LuisMorales-sc7rr you too!
Only the middle clips are broken on mine, so I’m thinking about just using E6000 glue as you mentioned. Does that make it harder to remove later tho? Also great video! Very informative for a newbie to car stuff like me
I prefer no date cyclops on my watches either. In fact no date at all is nice too. ❤
@@GoodEatsGuy I can make watches with or without date complications. I use the STP1-21 top grade movement made by STP in Switzerland or the ETA 2824-2 if preferred.
See more at bargerwatch.com or just like the video and subscribe to the channel. ❤😊
The sheets on the end of the exchanger and strips that you put on did they come with the exchanger ?
Yes. They came with the exchanged when I purchased it.

What a great looking watch 🎉❤
@@GoodEatsGuy thank you.
I think it would look better if you added the green leaf motifs.
@@fernir.1 thank you. I’ll take a look and see if I can find a suitable transparent green I can use on the dial. Appreciate the comment!!

Thankyou so much for the confirmation.
I can connect or splice in line 1 and line 2 ( from 240 V time switch)each of the plugs legs and just flip the switch to 240 ? correct.. Thx
@@TheJcrandazzo that is correct. I direct wired but there is no reason why splicing the wires shouldn’t work. The amperage is lower at the higher voltage so the wires should be sufficient. Obviously switch to 240V on the selector before energizing the circuit. 👍
Very cool. Thanks for posting.
Damn nice watch
Thank you!! ❤️🙏
Beautiful
@@Fred_Klingon thank you. 🙏❤️
What did you do with the green wire in the thumbnail?
@@deeday763 that is the bonding wire for your pump to your pool. I don’t have any wires from my pool making it that far (at least that I could find) so my pump isn’t bonded to my pool. But most of the time you will have a copper wire that is bonded to your pool frame and ground and this wire would be used to bond this equipment to that as well.
Great craftsmanship. Can’t wait to see more. ❤
@@GoodEatsGuy thank you
I love it Brother keep doing it your very talented 👏 👌 🙌
@@rickyolson4356 thank you. 😁🙏
I'm a silversmith looking to do the same thing. Where did you source your movement?
@@AgalisgvUdalii you can get them from watch distributors. I started a watch brand (BargerWatch.com) and buy my movements from the factory in Switzerland, but at first purchased them through my local watch / jewelry distributor.
@@DangerDIY thanks for the reply. Making our own wedding rings has turned into making a his and her suite, and I really havent seen many timepieces out there for what I have in mind. The project has literally just gotten me into learning anything about Watches. Best of lucky with the brand
The watch dials are gorgeous. Do you sell these or do you make the design I want and sell it?
@@fernir.1 thank you. I sell my watches at BargerWatch.com. I don’t work on other people’s designs as I don’t have the production time available for that as I am usually catching up with my orders. If you see a dial you like and I don’t have it on my site I can make a watch with the dial you want for you. I am willing to make a dial with your own family name on it or a special message but that would be the extent of customization that I could work into my schedule. Right now that work has about a 45 day product backlog based on current demand.
so if I understood correctly I just have to cut the wire with the 110v socket and connect to 220v?
That should technically work out as one would expect the current wiring to be able to handle the amperage load since it is a plug to run the motor at 120v AC and that is an even higher amperage load for the motor than the 240VAC. Cutting the wires and splicing into them should be just fine with that being the deal, right? The problem I have with that, in my opinion, is the plug wiring looks too thin and so I went with wiring of a higher thickness (lower gauge) to handle the high current load. I’ve never cut into the power cord and spliced in the power, rather I’ve disconnected the cord and ran directly to the same terminals they are connected to inside. I may be totally taking an unnecessary step by doing that but this is what I have done and I am on my 3rd motor having had 2 burn up due to the pool pipes breaking during freezing weather and needing to replace the overheated pumps after they ran with no water. But the same connections for 120VAC are the same ones for the two hot lines for 240VAC; just need to make sure the selector switch is on the 240 setting. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for the question and good luck on your install.
@@DangerDIY thank you, yes I will test with the 120v cord and if the cord gets too hot I will plug it directly inside, I will keep you informed
ZZ
I DID enjoy the video, but it would have been better to see the complete set up, including the re-connecting of the wires before you completely installed the pump and showed it after the fact. The still shots at the end did not complete if for me. Thanks, nonetheless!
@@tjjoubert9322 thanks for the feedback and for letting me know. This is one of my earliest videos and I didn’t have an extra set of hands to help me photograph while I was installing. I have more camera tools now to help with that but unfortunately in the early videos I was still learning how to shoot the video and do the work. I hopefully have improved dramatically. Unfortunately RUclips doesn’t let me edit the video after it is posted.
Great video! ✈
Thank you Emily. I appreciate you watching and your comment!
