The 50 Beowulf budget build, and the fix for all the jamming issues
I have the BCA .22wmr. Great upper!
Fuck RUclips censorship. Dissent is covered by the First Amendment! I’m posting this message all over. Copy/paste if you agree.
Dude! Thanks for the info!
Checking back in, I just got to shoot it today and apply this knowledge. With an H2 buffer and this modification to the extractor, she runs like a sewing machine. I've never been able to get through a full mag before,
Great damn video man. I have this problem intermittently on my Bear Creek 50. I cleaned and oiled the hell out of it when I got it and it does pretty well. This would solve the last issue.
Thanks, hope it helps you out!
BCA now has a 22LR bolt that they call a Gen 2 so I’m guessing they made some improvements on it.
what mags are you using?
Was using the standard cmmg mags, but have since gotten black dog stainless lip mags. Haven't bothered with this gun since I made the video though. Thought it might make a cheepo .22 for Steel challenge, but way too unreliable for any kind of competition.
I feel heavy oiling on the rod turns the 22 sludge into sludge lube and that made the action more reliable. If it starts to get dry I start to have problems. A squirt of oil and I’m back in business!
Now here it is 2 years later and I am still shooting my Grendel and can load to shoot 100 yards with ¼ spread. 100g, 123g, and about to lock in a 120g.
Great video I've been having the same issues with my Beowulf I will have to give this a try 👍
Picking up a hornaday lnl ap really cheap, I think I'll try this on it.
Not the Benny Hill music 😆😆
Cool video. I used BCA barrel and BCG but actually had to swap out the carrier because it didn’t fit my Aero Precision upper correctly. I used a spare Aero carrier with the bca Bolt assembly and then it worked. dunno 🤷 I also used a similar Chy-Na scope off amazon for 115, and it worked plenty fine. Ammo is 25-27 bucks a box in 2024.
Is that the hearbreaker muzzle?
@@sharedpollard4407 yep
Great video
Very nice build. The Taccom barrel is a game changer by taking out so much weight at the front.
Tim at Taccom is a very nice guy. He made a 22lr barrel for my competition 22 that works with the CMMG style bolt set up I use. Same 5.5" shrouded bbl.
@@pewsandbrews I have Tim's ULW barrel on my S&W 15-22 and totally love it. I'm putting the Taccom barrel/USSB/3 stage recoil system on my lightweight PCC build. Do you happen to recall how you tightened your barrel to the upper receiver? Meaning, did you just tighten it with a wrench until it felt tight enough or did you torque it to some value with a big crows foot on a torque wrench. Thanks.
@@baxrok2. I have a crows foot, but I just use a little blue locktite and crank it down, no specific torque.
@@pewsandbrewsThat was my plan too. Thanks!
Sorry to bring up an old post. What is bolt bounce like with the captured buffer? I had some out of battery detonations with a carbine spring and 8-ish oz solid buffer.
@@jlcg never had any issues. Since this video, I've gone to a blitzkrieg hydraulic buffer.
Gotta run 40grain...lube that pellet gun on steroids...you're gooooood
I wonder of a 762x39 bolt would work? I bought a full upper from BCA, but I have a 762x39 too. Trying to understand if my 762 bolt can be a back up for beowulf bolt assembly.
@@knjpollard i don't think so. Its a 762x39 bolt, but its ressesed. 13 thou. Deeper than a stock bolt.
lolz
Dumbest idea to have called these the “Lady Smith” which gave a bad rep and tainted them commercially for what is a really outstanding gun. I wish S&W would return to a modern version of a subcompact DA/SA with decocker AND safety. If there is a market for the CSX just for the niche 1911 crowd, surely there is much larger interest for a DA/SA hammer gun today. An M&P shield sized/weight gun or smaller with a little more capacity would be a real winner. The mag release disconnect which everyone poo-poos on as such a deal breaker is quite honestly in all reality an irrelevant feature for like 99.999% of people. Im not sure why so many people focus on this feature
Nice explanation. Almost none of the other videos shows how to take the die apart. You have earned yourself a subscription. 🙂
Thank you!
I bought that same upper several years ago, in 2019 when things were very dreadfully slow in the overall firearms business. Ammo was at 12 year lows and they had to pretty much sell a lot of stuff for little to no margin industry wide just to attempt to maintain cash flow. Like you, I'm no ace marksman, not by a long stretch. That said, those groups you printed in this vid were way way better than any I've ever gotten. LOL Don't sell yourself short man, that was some very nice shooting. I use my rifles for nothing more than shooting paper and steel targets out at our range. Now I'm going to start shopping for some better ammo to see if I can get anywhere near a 1 1/2 inch group at 100 yards with my upper. Cheers my friend.
Just bought my third Canik today. TTI Combat. Gear video, brother! Thank you for sharing. Cheers!
Two years since video. Still using it? Still working? Any issues…. Reviews need to be done after a lot of use, KWIM?
Still works. Haven't used it a ton since I use C-More's on my comp guns, but it's still humming along.
Turkish weapons are made to run NATO rounds you’ll need to run nato ammo to ensure cycling
Does it hold up now ?
Still working
Use blackdog mags standard ar trigger on a 80% lower mever had a failure to fire or a stove pipe 250+ rounds
3913 was a great gun.
Thank you for the simple clarification and operation! I’m buying one for each loading plate.
This is obsolete with the new Canik TTI combat lol
Great video. What is the best grain weight for the upper? Can it shoot 115s?
@@fat-hand The bullet weight is determined by the powder charge. I have these downloaded for competition, so it should run any factory round.
Guns and alcohol don’t mix well.
I did this to all my Canik’s
Some of the best of the best.Only down side is mag capacity. Carry a spare.
I did all the uspsa parts build 507comp on the list
I am the kind of person that wants to get to point, not all the extra bla bla!!
So you liked it or not?
Hey Tim! We've shot Steel Challenge together. I just got mine tonight and set it up. Works great in my Dillon XL750!
Hey Chad!
Chad. I have the XL 650. would be interested in hearing your comments (good or bad) on this thing. Curious how you have it set up.
@@c.patricksadowski9959 I like it a whole lot. I actually 3d printed a bullet collator/feeder and use some scientific tubing from that to the Lee In Line Bullet Feeder Die. Works awesome.
@@chadbrommerdo you have a separate seating/crimping die? Assume if so, you are running a seating and crimping die in last station? What are you using?

Get gas plug brother too much gas escaping simple fix
Not sure what you mean by gas plug on a blowback 22 lr? Please explain.
@@pewsandbrews look up 22lr gas plug for AR 15 since it ain't running on the buffer system the gas escaping through the buffer tube that were you buy 12$ gas plug to block that buffer tube it fix mine cycle
Bought the Gen 3 on 4/2 and it was defective and sent it back to SDS Imports. They replaced the trigger bar and safety plunger, return time was 35 days. When breaking in a pistol, lot of people do it wrong. Most manufactures say? Shoot 300 rounds of fmj before shooting hollow points. In my area
The magazine release was part of the Brady 🐂💩.
How much fire do we fire at it, it will get hotter
Is there a better gun than this? Because the x9 gun 2 is already my companion gun I like it I watch all your videos so I am asking you You should have fired more on this, you should have shown us the full reaction and report fire about you.
I don't have a 3913,but I do have a 3914 DAO that I believe was made more the NYPD as off duty/backup guns. Very cool little gun.
I have the same gun acquired when a relative passed love it !
Just bought an never fired 3914 from the 90s in 2024! Just turned 21 and it will be my edc!
There's a dude on the Smith and Wesson forum that converted it to .357 sig by reaming out the existing barrel's chamber, he said ammo capacity dropped to 7. That would make a nice CCW since these aren't much bigger than J-frames
My dad gifted me a 3913 lady smith for my college graduation gift in 1998. I still carry this as my main carry gun and shoot it at range often. Being a female/Lady with the last name Smith it’s a perfect fit for me and i love it. Wish they still made the mags for it or that I had grabbed a few extra before they stopped production.
Check out the pawn shops, they might have them
