A channel for my vlogs, & think pieces on filmmaking and equipment.
what does your photography say about you?
Photography; specifically my thoughts on my portrait photography.
I believe in the idea that art has something to say about the artist. At least in the macro overview of their output. In saying that, I wanted to take a look at my own personal work, and try to see what could be said about my work.

when your phone is just another camera.

Mini vlog of work life since Tokyo, along with a few shoots where I try out the iPhone 16 Pro as an alternative camera during portrait shoots. iPhone photography has come a long way, and it feels like each upgrade brings us closer to it being a viable alternative to a hobby camera.

Street photography vlog this week in areas in Sydney that I grew up in. A quiet week, then the camera arrived: the Panasonic Lumix LX3. I've heard great things about the Dynamic Black & White look on this camera, and it didn't disappoint!
using digicams & film cameras for street photography.

Used for street photography: -Olympus Pen D3 -Olympus Mju 300 -Kodak Retina IIIC For the past few weeks, I've been using vintage digicams and film cameras for street photography. Just for a fun challenge for myself. Sometimes you just need to need gear that makes shooting fun, not necessarily the best & latest.

How I filmed a wedding ceremony in a tight space as a solo videographer. Filming weddings is tricky work, and when you come across a venue that may not be spacious enough for you to pull off the normal routine, this video may help you.

After a hectic month being able to travel for work, I found myself back home with pretty much the month of June off. Here are some things I got up to, and some philosophies I live by that relate to my work & life.

When the smallest camera in your EDC is this cinematic
So cool, brother. Love it!
this camera is also good in color - it also has a ccd sensor, and in the captcher one, the development is amazing in detail
😭😤👏🏽 This is cool af!
love the video! can you please drop your settings on the dynamic b&w and the main camera itself? im new to the lx3 and intstntly fell in love with it. thank you!!!
This is nice bro!! Love your work and keep it up uso!
BOOKED AND BUSY
Enjoyed this.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
mind to share the settings?
Not much to share, I just try to keep the Tone at -0.3 lol Apart from that, it's just making adjustments via Lightroom.
I love the comparison in between each, someone like me would never realise how close an iphone camera is to a Sony camera (despite it's flaws). I think it's be good too for amateur photographers who aren't ready yet to invest in a camera, they can try their phones first lol
Thank you! Yes, it's getting close. I think obviously that any mirrorless camera will be miles better, but if you really want to just start off, to learn the basics (composition, settings, etc) to get a feel of it to just share on social media, then a phone is really the best starter camera!
arttt!!!! I have the 16 Pro, Natural Titanium (1tb) & I filmed an unboxing/first impressions over on my channel! This phone is great, i loveee it!!!
Same! It really is a pretty good phone. I still wouldn't recommend anyone that's on the 15 to upgrade just yet though.
The production quality on these videos are just amazing.
Thank you! Really appreciate that!
How good is the iPhone! Love looking at comparison between the Sony and IPhone
Definitely! Pretty impressed with it, and thank you for modelling for it!
This is my dream city too and my most favourite place for street photography <3
Same. Every corner felt just perfect to capture moments of life.
This video was so real, definitely an inspiration!
Thank you for watching!
love the cicadas, reminds me of July 2023 when i was there
Cicadas will always remind me of Tokyo now.
wow
Thank you!
Love the grading. Did u apply pro mist filters on the Sony and Osmo?
Thank you! No Pro Mist, just an ND filter on both the Sony & Osmo.
really really nice video, i love the style
Thank you! Appreciate you for watching
かっこいいvlogありがとうございます。
ご視聴ありがとうございました!お時間いただきありがとうございました
It is so awesome video! May I ask you a question What is the name of camera model this video?
Thank you. The main camera being used is the Sony ZVE1, with some shots being shot on the Osmo Pocket 3 and Osmo Action 4. For photos, the camera used was a Ricoh GRIII
@@moeythedirector thank you😀
I'm impressed by the quality of images in this video. Great job !!
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind comment!
I'm an amateur at nearly everything I do. I guess I'm a pro speaker, but even that, I approach like being an amateur. Just got a new subscription based on this swell video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I think staying an amateur is the optimal way to let the art teach you. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
I loved this Moey! Thanks again for bringing us into your world. Even in this short clip, you can see how much a good conversation and re-frame/re-approach really brought out the best in the model and in you! Can't wait to see how you'll capture your time in Jimokiyo lol.
Thank you so much for watching! I'm trying to slowly talk about my processes, but hopefully in a way that's educational but still entertaining!
“I like the freedom to be able to make mistakes” such a good way to grow and learn bro 🙌🏽
Thanks bro! I just love my freedom!
Youre an inspiration, its not easy starting again let alone multiple times

Beautiful my bro ❤️🔥
Thank you brother 🙏🏽❤️
This is a fantastic video. I think you really have something here if you are trying to really push as a creator!
Thank you so much. Will definitely be relating back to this style soon!
I’m presuming this is what you had to do for our day, Moey? Seeing as our space was much more tighter. Honestly didn’t realise how much more work goes into it because of how tight the space is & not having much room to move. You wouldn’t even know that this is how it goes BTS. You still do such an amazing job & deliver the best results though!! 🐐
Yea, pretty much! The key is to not complain or dread it, but to try to think outside the square of how I could make it work. A big plus was one of your guests offered to help look after my tripod lol.
WOW! This video! Especially the first 35seconds 😮💨 I’m really loving the Olympus MJU 300 shots 😍 that gives me more of a nostalgic vibe. You’d have to have patience to utilise the Retina hey! Those Hoka’s are definitely different but they look sick on you! 🔥 “whatever gives you the joy of creating, is worth getting” 💎
Thank you! I didn't think much of it, but it's looking like a lot of people enjoy that first 35 seconds! Hopefully I'll be able to recapture that vibe soon! And yessss super nostalgic on the Olympus! Been enjoying the Lumix so much that I haven't played too much with the Olympus. And yes, definitely need patience when it comes to film cameras, but that's definitely part of the fun!
Oooooft! Those Black & White shots hittttttt for sure 😍😍 & can I just say they should use your videos for promos! Professhhh! Can’t wait to see what else you capture on the LXIII! You’ll get your Leica in nooooo time 🔥
Ahhh thank you! Yessss, that'd be a dream to get that camera! Just gotta plan it out! Thank you for watching!
Insane shots
Thank you!
How the hell you have under 100 followers with that travelling at 0:53 ?😮💨
real
This is not my final form lol
What a fun little project. I like the variety, too, between the older digicam and also the old films. Just wild.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I really love all your photos! do you edit all those digicam pics or SOOC? thanks man!
Thank you! These are edited. The next video will be mostly SOOC with a different digicam
