Compilation videos of Charlevoix and Emmet County, with a primary focus prior to 1990. The intent is to informally illustrate the area and the music during those years. Possibly, residents and relatives of those living in the related areas will enjoy the lookback.

This aint the original animals....
It is the Animals on August 26, 1966 as the title states. Burdon and Chandler are originals. Jenkins became member of the reorganized 66 group. The other two were probably temporary members
C'est leur dernier concert avant les New Animals ?? 🤔
Je ne sais pas.
Did you have the same storm we had? New England 78 blizzard? Late February?
I only have what you saw in this video.
Great selection of songs and pictures!
4:20 saw doobie brothers Heart, Gogos, So many, including The Cars, so many great artists! Thankful to Atwood for reminding me of the great summers…❤
So many concerts I saw there are no where to be found. I saw cheap trick and was put on stage with them. I then went backstage for other shows including Tom Petty. Billy squire…..🤔
Went to a lot of these concerts, lots of good times,n thank god for castle farms having concerts back in the day,not much else to do on the weekends in a small town.
Ed White a Petoskey Icon back in the day.Knew him well.
Great history & I wish more of would have documented life as good as you guys do
Don’t forget The Charlevoix pedophile Fox island 🏝️
THAT ALL U CAN EAT BUFFET THERE WAS GREAT REMEMBER THAT WHEN I WAS LITTLE KID
my grandparents worked in Petoskey they lived on Burt Lake that place has sure changed since the 70s
I was onstage with Cheap Trick at castle farms in 1977? Or 78. I can’t find any footage yet it happened. No matter I grew up in Leland and TC. Best time of my life! Thanks for the memories of Castle Farms. Nicknamed Cheap Trick by the roadies
Backstage to many bands after the cheap trick thing
5:53 seconds on the horse is my grandpa
Got anything with Wicker family from boyne?
Bill Wicker was in this film. I just post what is available and don't save anything. I recall posting Doris Wicker in a 1944 film. Bill was my classmate, so likely in 1968. Obie graduated around 62 or 63, so he's likely in one of them. Sorry, I don't do research requests, only compile them for the benefit of whomever may benefit from a memory.
Thank you 🎉
GREAT TIMES.. to bad the Tourist killed the local fun
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏Very sad about the snowmobiles
WHERE WAS CHARLES MANSON BACK THEN !!!!
Some memories there,my cousins.
If you were one of Bob's boys and brother of Bob then each were close to me at times. You mentioned cousins, but I though Bob had a brother named Billy. I have Bob Sr in a video when he umpired games at the original little league field at the corner of Division and Park streets. Many great memories of Bob jr as we were on same basketball and football teams, and he oftened visited my parent's home in Charlevoix when he was dating one of the Goodenough girls. One time, he knocked on my dorm door at Ferris as he was hitchhiking to his college. tons of memories. I believe Sheryl was in one of the photos in the ponytail crowd during the night the Animals played there. Here is one of the films that I have of Bob Sr. ruclips.net/video/6MjAcmTKldE/видео.html He is at the 4.28 mark, as I was the catcher in front of him.
@@AtwoodsHistory Yes pat,Mike, bill n bob were my cousins,I used to go n watch them play baseball or football sometimes when visiting, lot of great memories at my aunt Ellen's place, so sad that most have passed away, way to young,I'm glad I came across your channel.
Would love to know who is doing these. I have so many photos of Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs. As well as Boyne.
I'm glad that you enjoy them. If you have photos of these areas that you would like me to include in a video then you can send them to j_atwood_s@yahoo.com. It's best to scan at a higher resolution, such as 400 dpi or 600 dpi; however, 300 dpi is okay and I may run through an AI photo enhancer, which will improve the clarity. you would need to include the month if possible, but at least the year (ca) of the photo, names are optional, and brief description. Preferably, the photos are pre-1990 and let me know if you would like a formal attributions, so you are properly recognized for the contribution. For a subject, month, or year related video, I would need at least 16 photos, or I can add others to complete the video.
Good times at the castle. Thanks for posting this, brings back amazing memories.🩵
The castle
Awesome 👍👍
Seeing what looked Billy Joel singing while Alice Cooper played, cracked me up.
yes, a 1980 billy joel clip.
Got my late Father in there at the basketball game. :)
Great memories, great music! Thanx for sharing...
AKA, "Barn Mountain."
I'm 76 so I fondly remember 1972 Grew up and lived in N. WI - very similar to MI. What a great idea and presentation. Thanks!
Great clarity!
Very cool…been going to Petoskey/ Harbor Springs since 1975…do you have any old footage of the Bear River?
A cool place... I remember seeing The Cars there right after Candy O was released
👍
I always thought this song was a way of saying there was a new way of thinking about people and mother earth back then. It was the tailend of Woodstock and people were still caught up in the love one another dream. We were young and we dared to think we could change the world....but we did the best we could .I look at these pictures and I listen to the song and it takes me back to a time that had so much promise. Some got lost along the way but some did find what they were looking for and what they did find was their own thoughts of morning has broken....
My Dad was from Boyne The one bedroom shack is still there❤
Thank you so much for this labor of love you’re providing to Northern Michigananders! I know it’s a lot of work and it is appreciated. I just discovered your channel, and I’m curious if you have included many shots of the fastpitch softball scene down at the Petoskey waterfront in your videos? I know you can’t detail where they are, but do you have some? Even if you don’t have many, this is so much fun to look through. Thank you again.
there were several related photos, but mostly winning team photos.
@@AtwoodsHistory Great. Happy to hear. I’ll watch the summer months videos for those. Thanks for getting back to me.
I lived for awhile in East Jordan. Beautiful country ❤
I haven’t seen a picture of George Romney in quite some time.
Great memories! I remember riding on the helicopter, it was $10.00 for a ten minute ride... If memory serves, Loton, "Lotion", Wilson graduated from Boyne in the mid-1920's...
Once lived in Charlevoix but did most of our shopping in Petoskey because it was cheaper.
The guy that played Otis Campbell on the Andy Griffith Show was born in Petoskey.
i did a video of him. His name was Hal Smith. I may have made it unlisted. I will list as public if you want to watch it. ruclips.net/video/9lAhxAaTOy4/видео.html
@@AtwoodsHistory Yep Hal Smith. I think I've seen your video on him your Atwood name kinda rings a bell.
I remember my Grandma bringing home the best Apple fritters from Olesons Market. It was the first time I had seen or heard of these and they quickly became my favorite.
Very nice video of Charlevoix the beautiful. My Grandparents owned one of the old Victorian homes overlooking Lake Michigan on West Dixon. I spent many wonderful times there when I was young that I will never forget. I recently viewed some old family home movies and there in one was my father holding me up as an infant with the lake, the breakwater and pier in the background. Places that I had so many great experiences in my later years.
Would you happen to have any copies of the Graphic, from the mid-70s? I see you've included some of their pictures here. I'm trying to find one my picture was in.
you can search the Greenwood Cemetery website.
Thank you. We are really enjoying your RUclips page.
Borr at the Old Lockwood in 1953. I think the hospital's pictures is on the birth certificate. Hospitalized there at least 4-5 time before it was demolished in 1965,
How bout that 😅 what happened to small town Americans 😢
Petoskey was a really nice place.. 50 years ago
I liked the picture of the students skiing. That is good downhill ski country.
