i never made the connection between this song and edelgard and dimitri's conflict/relationship but now that you have brought this big brain idea out into the world i am in awe. the scenes bring out dimitri's inner turmoil so well.. i can't articulate it yet but there's some powerful stuff. one of my fav FE3H animatic/mvs for sure.

Okay, but here's the fascinating thing about the daggers. Dimitri mentions at some point in Azure Moon that the dagger he gave Edelgard had a symbolic meaning involving cutting a path in the world. It is also implied in his supports with Sylvain that he gave the unnamed girl Sylvain dared him to ask out a dagger. Now, Byleth, interestingly, has a dagger in her ensemble that she always keeps with her. All of her outfits that aren't either for relaxing, fanservice, or a special occasion, contain the dagger. So we could assume that Jeralt, at some point in her life, gave her the dagger, and that is why she always keeps it with her. She never uses it. It's just there on her hip, regardless of gender. We know that Jeralt was a former knight of Faerghus, and therefore would have an understanding of their culture. So I would assume that a dagger has special meaning in the country of Faergus, therefore, it would actually be a rather romantic gift. Thank you for reading my random essay about my headcanon.

This was genuinely beautiful, and the creativity used is ingenious. The "sinners and the saints" lines being Rhea, Cornelia, and Sothis is so cool. Each one a saint and each one a sinner, as seen between Three Houses and Three Hopes. And the entire chess moment at the end with Edelgard's cold calculating expression but laid back and confident posture. This just nailed everything.

Honestly, Edelgard lost whenever she started with the "I wasn't the one who ACTUALLY killed them, so I have no blame in what happened" bullshit. Like being allied with the one who did the actual killing doesn't make you any better there, El. I also just hate when rulers/leaders pull the 'deaths are necessary for the greater good' bullshit. That is so tasteless and tacky a statement that it just results in an automatic loss of respect for anyone I hear say it.

This was really beautiful. Honestly, I wasn't quite sure which of the three would be the POV character for this, and some of the beauty of this game is that it could really be a song for any of them, especially depending on the route. I would say this could be an Edelgard song when Byleth goes Blue lions, or also a Claude theme... but your art really caught me and made me feel for Dimitri. Really beautiful.
