Vectra cdti. Did this when first started. Due to the alternator clutch being faulty.

Butters The Cat Inspecting A Box

Butters looking in a box a little too close.
Adjust the clutch rod. Should be good
This video is about 15 years old the car is no more. Turned out the clutch was faulty in the end. Returned it to exedy.
Opel design? Vauxhall engineers didnt made nothing! Ridículous how much you can be?
I'd love to see a modern day Lotus Calibra 4X4 with 400bhp out the box....but unfortunately that'll never happen😒.
Wish I hadn't sold my turbo
The Capri with plate RBW 111M is still on the road 🙂
Will never look as beautiful as a fiat coupe or as fast as the 20vt. Must admit though for a G reg the calibra does look a lovely car!
I saw a calibra as a smelly school kid one day , then one day I bought my dream car , tuned it, modified it , done the grand theft auto thing with it and then gave it to a very dodgy garage, needless to say , the engine ended up in the boot the garage ripped me off, I ended up scrapping the entire car , very sad end to my school boy dream , never mind the ex Mrs , that was more horrific
It's funny how British reviewers claim Vauxhall this Vauxhall that. Truth is that they had minimal input on the design and engineering of any Vauxhall vehicle since the last car they designed independently of Opel. The original Viva. Since then Vauxhall models have been just production variations of the equivalent Opel or models supplied by other GM divisions or partners.
Vauxhall
I drive a Calibra 2L 16v 1996 , its a beauty 😍 love this car 🥰
Chris Gothic..."who's steering?...what a downer man"
Ecotec engine was absolutely rubbish
Where is jeremy clarckson
calibra, the best.
I'll take the Red Audi...
aparently this is how smart charging alternators work. output between 13.8-14.4v. mine does tha same now. i have installed an usb charger in the lighter socket, wich has a voltmeter display. rarely i see 14.4v. usually os 14.0-14.2
If you look at the very begining it was around 11v. The voltage is around 13.8 and 14.4 due to the amount of current being taken.
aparently is the belt tensioner that is screwing the alternator pulley. have a look on ebay item 172457586528. this seller says so, might make sense.
Great presenters on the old top gear...fantastic Vauxhall as per usual
Turned out to be the clutch on the alternator.
Mine started to do this now i thought is was something else how much did it cost to repair?
@@lsmithx2 Mine just started, did you sort yours
@@Carlostype yes got a basically new alternator from scrap yard and problem whent.
Переведите кто-нибудь уже, а! Хочу понять, что говорят.
Not really. It's more of a conflict between Vauxhall and Ford in England. Vauxhall cavalier Vs Ford sierra Vauxhall Insignia vs Ford mondeo Vauxhall Astra vs Ford Focus ect. ect.
This was my 3rd car, Actually I remember it being a head turner at the time, and was quite fast, also very desired by the car thieves, and hence that was its fate, stolen then burnt and found like so many other on a mountain near Swansea, completely burnt out.
the 1989-1997 Opel Calibra/ Chevrolet Calibra/ Holden Calibra/ Vauxhall Calibra was assembled in Rüsselsheim, Germany Uusikaupunki, Finland
@SaucyBegger25 I think it's very varied. The cavalier is one of those cars that is driven by everyone older pepole, young people rich and poor. I have a 1.6 cavalier and the insurance was £1600 when i was 18 but it didn't stop me driving it.

One of vauxhalls best cars from what i understand, calibra is a very nice car.
I got a 1992 red top 2.0 16v cost a very expensive £200 quid and cost £9 in parts to pass an mot .
@discocreator76 what the hell are you talkin about chav mobile, are you just copyin the "chavailer" saying. ive never seen a chav as you say or any young lads driving a calibra or a cavalier for that matter mainly the big engine ment high insurence my 1.8 cav is about £1500 for a young lad to be insured on so i think your idea of chavs driving them is far from true
@Toffo86 You forgot more relaxing, more economical, bigger boot, better seats, more legroom, better ride, better to tune, much nicer steering and controls, better dash layout, etc. I suppose it's only a vauxhall though.
bad points were handling at limit, road noise form large tyres and the hieght of the rear for loading
You have to understand to love a Calibra ;) If you don't understand, buy a BMW or VW lol
What song was this? I can't remember.
Mine is the V6 version. But the review here is justified. It looks great, but the rest, even the quality, is ordinary. I just wish that they had been able to base the chassis on a shortened Omega. The rear wheel drive would have been more fun! B-)
Yes, the position you sit in the car, and how it handles is amazing. Although it's opel, i would take it over an beemer. The 2 litre turbo 4 x 4 can be screaming fast. Factory top speeds are not all trough. A stock 115 bhp can do 220 km/h.
Actually, it's not, it's an Opel ;)
Me, actually. Think that from now I'll always be stuck with calibras, they're amazing cars. In looks and performance.
Haha I like how you cut it off just as he was about to discuss the cons ;)
Mine is 17 years old as of writing, and I haven't found a problem I can't fix under 100 euros yet. Having said that, I do have an amazing mechanic ^^
Putting a camshaft sensor into one now. They are severely underpowered for how they look. The model i have now is a perfect example of the car, green, cream leather, just look at the haynes manual and thats it. Its a great looking car though, and the 2.0 puts out this nice rasp when you accelerate hard
The silver Calibra in the video is no longer on the road. The vehicle details for G503 XNM are: Date of Liability 01 05 2008 Date of First Registration 18 04 1990 Year of Manufacture 1990 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour SILVER Vehicle Type Approval null
i wonder if this car is still going can some one check registration no G503 XNM
cant believe its cost 17 grand, i bought mine a few months ago for £600 :)
Well, i am on my second calibra, first was a 2L xe, current one is a 2.5 v6. both fantastic, both mechanically great as well. They still turn heads (as do the corrados) and will for many years :)
i own a 96 calibra since 2 weeks :D my first own car ^^ its a real eyecatcher and im so proud to be the owner its a really nice car. 5*
U still have the calibra?
I've got one of these 16V babies right outside, and I must say I love it! Very rare car with great looks!
I'm a Manta owner, and apart from not retaining RWD on the 2WD models I think the Calibra was a sound replacement. They're certainly more economical (and faster) than my thirsty GT/E - couldn't really touch it for looks and handling though. Good one Vauxhall!
This is an Opel design! Why english dont show Vauxhall calibra motor in theyr vídeos?
I really like how those look, but the US has never seen a Vauxhall. Closest styling wise here would have to be SAAB.
wrong wrong wrong RED TOP 16v is the best
the best calibra was the turbo 4x4 by a mile performance is awesome as handling
Were terrible understeer
lol
awesome dude awesome
