Yes and no u need a short game full stop but being longer off the tee always helps shorter club in every time not always in the middle though

The pros at my county club told me I’m there the most practicing. Idk. 3 hours a day 3 times a week? 1 hour range. 1 hour pitch/chip. 1 hour putting if my body can handle it

I try to get out twice a month in the evening to roll putts. It’s usually really nice during that time. A good escape

Driver is just putting the ball in play. You can put the ball in play with a lot of different clubs tho. You only putt with one club.

I think something that doesn’t get talked about is that hat course you typically play, for example the course I usually play doesn’t really require driver except on maybe 6 holes. But the greens are incredibly hard so being a good putter for me is more important. Everyone is in a different position.

Driver. Further and straighter shots allow for easier approach shots. Just 30 yards extra is 2 clubs worth, and should put you in better putting situation anyways. Keeping it in play with other clubs is always a choice, but always kind of feels like you are getting up and down for a par playing from too far back. Also, playing the tips without the driver is just way too hard.

I would pick 3 8 irons. Cuz I'm wearing those faces out bruh 🤣 if 3 different clubs, then 4 iron, 8 iron and putter

The greatest mind in golf said all the clubs are important, but the most important one is the driver. You start most rounds with it and probably hit it the second or third most of all the clubs. If you can’t hit it far enough and keep it in play, you’ll be hitting out of the rough and/or with a much longer approach all day. In that case, you better be the best putter that ever lived and that still won’t save you. I agree with him.

Driver can reward or punish you. Putter is the great equalizer. IRONS are the connector between the two. IRONS get you out of the trouble your Driver gets you into. IRONS set up your putter to make the makable ones and save the day when the need arises. So IRONS are arguably nost important, and they are literally the only aspect of the game that I practiced to get to scratch golf.

I think for the professional golfers it can be. But for us AMs, putting is one of the best ways to lower your scores.

it depends on good or bad you are with each… but As a mid handicapper who plays mostly with other mid and high handicappers, more strokes are lost off the tee than putting for most golfers in this range. And certainly more strokes are lost tee to green than putting. If you’re a bogey golfer it’s nearly impossible to lose 18 strokes on the greens. At least I’ve never seen it. But i see golfers who lose 18 strokes off the tee all the time.

Depends on where your game is at if your like a 10 handicap putter is so nice to have in the bag when you know you can get up and down
