If you've ever worked at publix, then this scene is instantly relatable to you. All the overstimulation i feel at work; all the people talking to me all at once, all the anxiety, the guilt, the fear, the fact that the company's image relies on my abilities to mask my emotions and smile all the time. This This scene is exactly how I feel whenever I get a quiet moment away to myself in the bathroom.

It's unsettling because it's seems his "mask" slips off and you see the monster that is within him. And this is the only time you see him like this. He is literally indifferent before and after in the duration of the movie.
