The Yamaha has the edge in the fingerstyle comparison, which makes sense as it has a smaller rosewood body. The Martin has the edge in the strumming comparison. The Eastman isn't far off in either category, and possibly wins based on the value comparison, though with the mahogany body it lacks the warmth of the other two. There isn't a best. It's all based on preference and bias.

First of all, this is not a equal comparison and it blows the entire comparision, however because the least expensive guitar ( the Eastman) sounds better through my highend Bose headphones! It has more range, clarity and definition. D-28 @ $3200/ Yamaha LS16 @ $900/Eastman E1D@$549. also the sizes 2 dreads vs concert. It's all unfair, but the Eastman still wins in every category!

It would be cool to compare the E1D with a D18. Because the sapele is a mahogany alternative. Great video and nice playing.

My picks: 1st Martin 2nd Yamaha 3rd Eastman They all sounded great. Best value I would say is the Yamaha as I think it sound almost as good as the Martin and better than the Eastman (to my ears).

I guess they are just different not better or worse. HOWEVER the Yamaha is a significantly smaller body guitar!

The Eastman E20D Should be compared to the Martin D28, not the Eastman E1.

They all sound good but I think that I prefer the Yamaha. I like the chord sequence. I can't see your left hand, can you please tell me what the chords are. 🙏

Yamaha LS16 is a concert body, meaning it is a smaller body. The LL16 model would've been a better competitor since it has a dreadnaught body. Nonetheless, Martin and Yamaha both sounds good in their own merits. It just depends on what kind of music style you prefer.

Eastman hands down, and the reason why, is because it doesn’t sound too dark and too boomy, but the lows are still warm and full, but a little more crisp sounding, perfect for studio work or any other setting for that matter. I absolutely don’t think the Eastman sounds too harsh, a very nice and balanced tone. With that being said, keep in mind, the Martin is a Rosewood, and the Eastman is a Mahogany, I’m not sure about the Yamaha. All I can say, is that Eastman rings and sustains for days. It has my vote.

The E1D is Sapele back and sides and a Sitka spruce top. The E2D is mahogany back and sides and cedar top. I own the later and it is spectacular value for money. Given the fact that the Yamaha and Martin are more expensive, and in the case of the D28…4 times the price of the Eastman. One could say it is not a fair comparison. However it does prove the quality of the Eastman . The E2D sounds more Martinesque. And certainly does not sound anywhere near its price range. Great guitars taking all into consideration. BTW..I also like the Martin a lot, and the Yamaha.to an extent .

@@johnlynchpersonaltraining9918no the e2d is also sapele back and sides. You can’t get mahogany back and sides until you reach the e6d. Not sure how or why you think the e2d is made with mahogany back and sides but your definitely wrong

I personally think the Yamaha has the most pleasing sound and balanced sound. The Martin drums nicely. The Eastman sounded a bit harsh by comparison. I'd put the Yamaha and Martin neck to neck and the Eastman second.

Very nice playing but comparing a D28 to an LS16 Model? Kind of like comparing Les Paul Standard to a PRS SE. An OM is a better fit against an LS. You should use an LL instead and an LL36 OR LL56 to keep the price range and build quality fair. That being said the LS16 stands up pretty favorably to a guitar 3 times more expense. It has a really nice balanced range of tone, impressed. Not that a D28 isnt a classic with it's own beautiful dread sound for sure.
