I prefer the Hakuja version actually.
Both versions are pretty good!
If you want to listen to a proper version check out Hakuja's version
Funeral Elegy's split version is better IMO. Maybe it's because it was the first version I heard.
MykTheOccultist I personally liked the way Hakuja played the tracks over the FE tracks on the Sargeist split. I felt Hakuja's had a tighter tempo and production. But I prefer FE's vocals.
Hakuja is a re-recording of the Funeral Elegy tapes by the member who wanted the project to continue despite the band splitting up. IMO, they sound worse than the original tapes; the flow and tempo is slightly off and when you've listened to the Funeral Elegy version for so long you can't change. I had to go through my old archive to find the Sargeist / Funeral Elegy split. So glad because you can't find it anywhere now!
