Saw them in Houston 1993 when they opened for the Sundays, they were awesome. We were up front at the stage and all the young girls were just infatuated with this band and Mary Lorson. Great night for rock and roll.

I heard a rumor back in the day that this video was considered to be too violent for MTV.

The guitar solos are VERY J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr) sounding. I had all but forgot about this song until someone used it in a podcast.

this band was so underrated. i saw them twice, once opening for the juliana hatfield 3 and the other time opening for hole on the live through this tour with veruca salt. they were so powerful and dreary live.

I was at the El Rey the same night (July 2007). I'd seen GVSB a few times before, but never heard them play the songs they did that night. Still, the venue was wrong -- too swank for a band with origins in DC HC. But I definitely agree that they blow the current crop of so-called indie bands right out of the water. They had, and have, a sound like no other.

House of... was by far the best GvsB lp, although Cruise Yourself & You Can't Fight... were both awesome

They released a new album in 2002, You Can't Fight What You Can't See, which is really excellent - check the video for Basstation. Lately they played gigs, but no news for a new album
