offsetfragmentor- I understand your comments, and have seen many horror stories regarding ductboard. However, they have improved ductboard tremendously since the days of loose fibers and microbes growing on the surface. And it is being used in a lot of markets in the US and abroad. Some of them are using a scrim on the interior as well, and there are even Urethane boards being used now. DuraTite Collars can be used on both ductboard and metal. This gives contractors real convenience.
The DuraTite duct collar can be used on sheet metal as well and features a double sided adhesive gasket which can replace mastic. The ZipClip fasteners will seal tight against metal and we have also left sheetmetal screw holes in the flange as well. From our research around the country our collars are more than price competitive with the rising metal collars. The DuraTite collars are UL classified, durable and are 157 times less conductive than metal. Request a sample then review it again.
