Nice video, just seen it today. I have also several Z812 and Z1012. They are very good old bridge cameras. I made thousands of pictures with these cams and I love it so much. From my point of view they were the best bridge cams from original Kodak they ever made. The Z1012 is the better cam for me, because of wider angle. Keep going with your Kodaks! :)

One thing to note with the P series, the P880 P850 and P712 is that the power toggle switches get oxidized and they will switch off and on, the problem is made worse given the switch surrounds the shutter button so if its sensitive it will shut off when taking pictures. You can improve things by removing the battery and cycling the switch between all the positions about 20 times which can wear through the oxidation. Sometimes the issue can be because the battery contacts have lost a bit of tension, so if it always shows as a low battery even after a charge it could also be that. Ive got 4 P880's and 2 of them have the switch issue, my P850 also had issues with the switch when i first got it.

What type of external lens u have?

I used an S6000fd for 15 years hiking. I really liked the manual zoom lens and AA batteries that last for a LOT of shots, since when you power it on it doesn't have to motor the lens out into position and retract it when you turn it off. Perfect for taking one or 2 pictures at a time, often. I just switched to a Samsung S23 ultra to save weight since I have a bad back, and every gram counts. The phone is great for video and doubles as a GPS but it doesn't equal the S6000 at the long end of the zoom, the pictures have 2x the number of pixels but at 230mm the pictures just aren't as sharp. There isn't anything as far as I know with a manual zoom lens and similar focal length. I tried an S100fs but the weight and size were too much.

Покупал такую камеру в2009году дочке в подарок.До сегодняшнего дня она в рабочем состоянии,оставили на пямять,не стали продавать,дочке потом купили pentex k5,а эта так и осталась.Минус этой камеры карта памяти XD,при слабом освещении плохо работает автофокус,при высоком iso сильная зернистость снимков.За то макросъёмка этой камерой мне очень нравится.

I just got a dx6490 it's a bit weird, going use it like a digital holga. The on /off mode dial seems flimsy. Might just leave it on

The command dial seems weak. I think I would leave it on and just take out the battery

I have this camera and I agree, its great and can be found quite cheaply now, but they are getting more expensive, the P712 is also great, pretty much the same camera but a bigger body with more direct controls and a hot shoe, I love these old Kodaks

LOVE these old Kodaks, I have a P880, a Z712 and a Z990 all great cameras and still available for not much money (but I suspect that will change when people twig onto how good they are)

Hi Adam! All good? I'm from Brazil and I bought this camera a few months ago. I confess that I fell in love with it and its quality, despite how long it has been on the market. If you know how to use it, you can take beautiful photos on par with more modern cameras. Congratulations for your work!

Great video some stunning images there with the fZ1. It's a confusing range I think containing 2 or 3 sub ranges. The 1 is more of a consumer camera whereas the thousand seems to be part of a semi pro range of larger sensor models dating back to the FZ30. There are also the 60 time zoom models which seems to be a separate sub range but the numbering system makes it hard to follow which camera succeeds which.

A shame Panasonic abandoned the classic rangefinder style for the clunky DSLR look later in the FZ line, what where they thinking? They shouldn’t have messed around with it!

The bridge camera has by default replaced the analog film rangefinder. My dream camera would be a bridge camera that looks like a film rangefinder because I like a classic camera look. A true digital rangefinder camera is expensive so the rest of us have to be satisfied with a bridge camera. And they’re cheap and plentiful. No wonder your FZ50 and the photos you’ve taken with it, speak to your heart! 😊

It was a camera made for the pros. A superbly designed DSLR.and while it has a fixed lens, you can add on a variety of filters to get the shot you’ve in mind. Snobs pan Kodak for its mass market easyshare line but they can take good photos.
