R46 F Train Action
R46s and R68/As, have returned to service on the G train after multiple R160s were taken out of service for wheel truing. R46s and R68/As were displaced from the G train in 2021 to prepare for CBTC signaling on the IND Queens Blvd line and IND Crosstown line. In this video you will see R46 5530-5533 from Coney Island yard operating on the G line with one end signed an F.

A trains were rerouted to 96 St-2 Av while the 59 St-Columbus Circle interlocking underwent replacement. This was the first time that A trains had traveled via 63 St and the Second Av Subway to the Upper East Side. For the first time ever, R179’s are seeing passenger service on the Queens Blvd Line under Automatic Train Operation thanks to CBTC, as well are seeing service on the F train for the first time. The “golden hour” typically refers to the hour after sunrise and before sunset, and since the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line traverses Queens at a diagonal left-to-right, the sun is positioned nicely at the stations.
