Motorcycle riders anticipation of summer

Any motorcycle plans for the summer ?
Yamaha best
i rode a stryker and the rear suspension was terrible and it would bounce the bike on broken surface. big issue for me
Mines nearly thrown me off on freeway after hitting small bumps Surprised hell out of me because it sits so well at speed
Nice sound I just got a 2007 vtx 1300 and wanting to do this. Did you have to retune or anything after installing?
I didn’t at first but later I had carburetor issues so I ended up having to retune
Were you able to remove the main jet and pilot jet with just the bowl removed like that?
It would be indeed.
It would be indeed.
What’s the other twist knob to the right of the one you installed? I was thinking that was the AF knob from the factory.
Idle
I put my bike on a motorcycl.wheel chock , which is a big help
Is there a tool to screw the adjuster on?
No, you shouldn’t need any type of tool
@@DJ-wu2qc how is the adjournment done?
@@taprac the Glen’s screw attached directly to the motorcycle
@DJ-wu2qc yes I understand that. What holds it in place? Does it have threads or is it a Press fit? Thanks
@DJ-wu2qc can this item be bought on Amazon or is it only sold at Glens Garage. Thanks again for your info DJ
You can cut the windshield rather than buy a new one. Lots of videos on RUclips on how to do that. Get the Memphis Shades fork lowers to reduce buffeting on the highway. Around 50mpg is average. I have got 300 kms from a tank but the low fuel light usually comes on around 250kms. Ivans Performance Products ECU flash really improves the "driveability" and makes a more enjoyable ride but with the ECU flash premium fuel is recommended.
Ive owned both bikes, to summarize the Yamaha is a more modern engineered bike. Has the benefit of fuel injection, better suspension, feels and handles lighter and the belt drive is cleaner and zero maintenance and look better than the shaft on the honda. Yamaha has better brakes and more pull
Sounds amazing! Just how loud is it when rolling out? I leave for work around 430 5am and Im not trying to be hated by my wife and kids who are sleeping let alone the neighbors at that hour.
They are plenty loud
But I think you’ll still be ok with the neighbors and family
@@DJ-wu2qc Thanks for the reply! Good deal then. You've sold me on them.
I’m dividing between 2008 Yamaha V Star 1300 with 22k miles $2500 or a 2004 Honda VTX 1300 with only 6k miles also $2500 they put a extender shifter and I’m can’t reach the shifter or brake but they have everything to go back to original. I like the look of the Yamaha way more but the honda has only 6k miles not sure what I should buy this weekend mmm
Of course the choice is yours. Both are very reliable bikes. I’m with you though, I like the look of the V Star better. The Honda feels like it might have a little more torque and speed than the Yamaha but that is just my opinion. Also, I think the Yamaha handled a little better at times I felt the Honda was top-heavy a little bit. Whatever you decide it will be a very good bike.
@@DJ-wu2qc thank you so much tomorrow is the day . I absolutely love love the Honda VTX driveshaft but I love the Yamaha V Star 1300 fuel injection.
The fuel injection is a upgrade from the carburetor on the Honda for sure
Hi, I'm in the UK? And have just got a vtx 1300. My plugs are fouling up so in your opinion would this help me Kind regards wardy
Yes, this would definitely help you if your plugs are fouled up that means it’s getting too much fuel and not enough air. This screw will help you eliminate that by adjusting the air fuel mixture better.

Have a 2006 Honda VTX 1300 put the original air intake on it and all it does is back fire and want get to 130 mph
Hola q tal amigo soy de México y acabo d adquirir una vtx 1300 custom con ese mismo tornillo...mi pregunta es es normal q entré y salga cual es la posición en la q debe d ir adetro o afuera ??
I've got a 2004 vtx 1300s.
They sound nice and loud alright. :)
😍😍😍 beautiful just awesome!!
I have both as well.. My Vtx is my baby.. bought her new in 05.. wife recently wanted to upgrade from her shadow 750.. so I gave her the Vtx and customized it ..then I went out an picked up an 08 vstar 1300 tourer. now I get to ride both :)
Thanks for sharing. You really can’t go wrong with either bike. Both have plenty of power and handle well. Stay safe !
Smooth strategy, now you get to ride both. I hear the vtx has slightly more get-up-and-go…you notice that, or is it about the same?
Fuel injection is the only thing the Yamaha has over the Honda, otherwise it’s VTX all day every day. But the Raider on the other hand…🫢😳😃
No way ive had both the Yamaha has better suspension, feels and handles lighter , the fuel injection way better than the honda carb and the Yam is a more modern bike..
@@blackbird69xxx yeah it’s def the more modern bike. I’ve only ridden it once(my brother has one). Maybe I’m just more used to how my VTX handles..
Yamaha better Suspension Fuel injection Sound And shape
How did this work out? I'm about to do the same thing on my 1300 for the same reasons: previous owner put Cobra Slashcuts on it and apparently had the carb jetted which left the bike running super rich. I'm about to bring it back to the stock jets and install the Glen's tool. Did you find that the 2 1/2 turns on the screw was still a good position? Thanks!
It seemed to be running rich also . I had the carb rebuilt and then had to play with the screw setting a little bit to find the right mixture… I sold the bike and last time I talked with the buyer it was running really well . So, you might have to adjust the screw some but I’d start with the 2 1/2 turns and then go from there. Thanks for watching !
@@DJ-wu2qc awesome news! Thanks for the reply, and for the great video - take care!
I have an 08 Honda v Star 1300 no complaints mine is red and black has the black stripe on the fenders and on the gas tank so far I've put $26,000 miles on it
So vstar is not a honda bud......😳
@@kenzistoen6668 you are so right that's what I get for using voice activation
Both great bikes, vstar prettiest though.
I agree I’m dividing on both have to make decisions this weekend between 2008 Yamaha V Star 1300 26k miles $2500 or 2004 Honda VTX 1300 6k miles same $2500
@@MOUSEBOWEN wow I didn’t know the vtx went back to 2004…making it carbureted I would think. The vstar is fuel injected. I almost bought the Honda in 2007, as i sold my 2002 Honda shadow 750 ACE. I loved that 750 but buddies were leaving me in the dust. What swayed me to the vstar was the LOOK of the belt drive, as opposed to the look of the shaft drive on the big Honda. That “bone” that connects the engine to the rear wheel just doesn’t look as nice as the belt drive hookup on the vstar to me. I know shaft is almost no maintenance, but I wanted that belt drive. Both bikes great though.
I had the 650 a long while back, the thing I hated about it was I had to take off the exhaust to do an oil change, which wasn’t so bad, but it was tedious. Even more so after being spoiled with a Honda shadow before that. Is that still an issue on the 1300?
the oil change is pretty easy. No need to remove the exhaust on the 1300. I too have owned a Honda Shadow I found it to be a very dependable biker
I own a '02 VSX 110A you have to remove the Exhaust to do an oil change. I own an 08 VSX 1300 and the Oil filter cannot be spun easily with a strap wrench... I ride the 1100A My Brother in law rides my 1300, He out weighs me by 120lbs. the 1300 is way more powerful. I am going to do a relo on the oil filter on the 1100A but its 300 bucks and the Oil Filter problem on the 1300 is cured by buying a nicer oil filter (like a K&N that you can get ANYWHERE) that includes a nut where you can reach it with a normal wrench
This is a great bike nothing to prove just enjoying the ride
The no fingerprints tip was awesome, thank you.
Awesome stuff! Just ordered a set today. Pumped to get them on for the weekend.
