Does it help?
Why did you have to loosen any of the bolts couldn't you have just fitted it ? Has it seemed pretty straightforward just two piece simply clamped together was there a reason listening the bolts on the forks ?
Wish the torque spec for triple tree, etc., were listed...
Just been out on my 08 DL1000 all day and fitted my cosmo brace and just been out, what a difference it makes! Tracking and handling are amazing now just how it should be especially on forrest tracks, cheap solution.. the wind doesn't upset the handling like before and passing trucks no buffeting at all, next upgrade is to swap the dinner plate mirrors for aftermarket conical ones...
I have the exact same experience. I too have one from Cosmo.
@@JohannesDalen my front forks seem to be more stiff with the cosmo brace you ? maybe i overtork tbe 5mm allen bolt ..
Good video, thanks for the tools list as well :-)
What is the point of lowering the fork tubes? Don't you run the risk of not getting them perfectly symetrical therefore intoducing a camber in your front tire by one fork tube being longer than the other? What am I missing here?? Tks
I guess so. But you run the same risk when installing the forks at the original position (e.g. after fork oil change). It's just a matter of being accurate. And a tiny bit of difference is hardly noticeable because it will be absorbed by the spring. It's like turning one preload adjuster more than the other. Not something you wanna do on purpose, but hardly noticeable.
I pried the forks like this with a big screwdriver and it damaged the surface where the screwdriver makes contact with the forks. there are clear marks on both forks now. I think the same would happen with the prying device used here. There must be a safer method, but I don't know it. It's not a big deal but I'm just saying so that who ever is doing this can try to prevent it if possible.
good video does this make a big difference to its handling . regards
Looks like a SuperBrace knockoff to me.
that front fender is not the OEM right !?, it seems to give more room for a knobby tire, where can I get one ?. Thank you.
