Hi, I'm Varrick Kun, but you can call me Varik. I am a Mississippi-based experimental artist and musician. This is my personal RUclips channel where I upload videos of things I like and feel should be archived. Some of my music is here, too, but I am in the process of creating a channel exclusively for my music.

UPDATE: This song was remixed for There is Nothing You Would Want From Me Anymore. From an unfinished project that eventually became Untitled Project. “You Versus The World” cover art by Varik Kun. This track was made as a tribute to my childhood cat Mozart who passed away late last year at age 16. He was an outdoor cat that led me to the void the first time. Mozart was a Russian Blue, which ar...

i read they stole the ending from rita coolidge
Eric was jealous of Duane being a better guitarist, so he went tyrannical on the mixing, dumbing down Duane' track to background to his own. This happened in between Eric hitting on George's wife Patti. Eric the dog.
Ignorance prevails
Duanne was magic... allman brothers never were the same. Gordon's contribution on this album not shabby either... but yes, Duanne is frickin fantastic
how is it that he does not get his due as one of the best guitarists of his time?
I can just see him spinning the record with his toe. To be young and full of bright light.
It was a time when the music mattered. None of the drama we deal with today
Oh my gosh! Hear so much more guitar work here than ever before !!
Tom Dowd did a great great job with Duane's track.
IMHO. Duane made this album
Bobby W. & E.C. back up vocals 🎼🎧🎙️🏞️🎼🇺🇸🇬🇧
God Bless Tom Dowd for producing & mixing because this was also his " Flagship" which there were many...What a lesson multi-tracking allows us to hear...As a musician & someone who had a little demo studio in Nashville i can tell you this, this iis magic..Genius.🍑🍄
Hell Yeah!
I know we're all here to listen to Duane and Eric, but listen to that rhythm section. Carl's bass line...incredible.
No kidding. I never realized how many notes Carl played here, but he's never in the way at all
Apart from Duane, Jim Gordon is the best part of this lp
Subscribed bro keep it coming!
Wow dude thanks for the post. This is so cool!
Yes, he is, fantastic.
What remived the tour de force’s Duane’s slide gutair during the piano Corda.along with his bird tweep. ZIts crappy
What Awesomely Amazing lead guitar.. Duane Allman was a Rock and Roll Icon... Lost way too Soon.. My God what might have been.??!! Heck Yeah.. Mr Dilly... Approved.. Doesn't Everyone.??!! 🙏 👍 🎸 😎 ❤️ 🤟
Eric and Duane were talented musicians who were far ahead of their time. Unfortunately, we lost Duane way too soon, and one can only imagine how much more profound his impact would have been if he hadn't passed so young. Layla is one of the best songs of all time.
where is Duane's slide on the second half of the song?
@@stratless this is one of 6 channels from the Super Audio CD. Duane’s slide may have been panned to another channel.
Right music is competition it has no barriers🎼🎼🎛️🎛️🎙️🎧🎼🎹🎹🎸🥁🎼🦅🪶
No, it was on a different track entirely. The coda was a separate recording, made about three weeks later, that was spliced onto the end of the track. Duane's slide from the second half is on a different track and the person who made this version didn't want to be bothered with remixing it on the fly, I guess.
During the entire album, you can hear Clapton yelling in the background Wow at Duane solos.
Thanks for the upload..skydog...still chills on skin...
Great interpretation😊love you eric for ever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
RUclips shorts guys who put songs in and don’t disclose who by and song title so they can track more view because they want more traffic to make their short seem like its popping off, vibes going on here. This hopefully will be the new standard for helping people find songs on this cursed platform
i dont know what the song is dawg, what do you want me to do
@@varikkun No king, I was making light of those shorts. You did nothing wrong
some 2006 youtube shit right here

Bro actually pulled through
Have you run it through Sounf Hound or a similar app?
I don't know how you did this and how you have access to the most important tapes of my life, but I am more than thankful! This is the most important song in my life and the feelings of pain and being in love it shows are only outplayed by the great rythm section in the verses: It shows what a great feeling for rythm Clapton has or had (even filled with h, coke and these old style tranquilizers a whole lot of a time). Never heard his guitar part so clearly and I've surely need to adjust my own playing a bit after hearing his part so directly... It is amazing! Once again: THANK YOU - you have earned yourself a new subscriber!!! Just a last question: Why did you put a pucture of Carl in it, if he is not on that take? It would be great though, if you could post his bass part separately - another great thing I'd love to hear!!! Best wishes from Hamburg, Germany Philip :-)
I labeled these videos based on the credits listed in the sleeve of the SACD case. Carl Radle was listed as bass on this track, and I mistakenly named this video as HIS bass playing, when it was actually Eric's Rhythm Guitar.
Shedloads of Soul, you're not mistaken!
One of the best songs ever!!!
One of 14076 or so. Correct!
Gentlemen Back from a relaxing trek somewhere.
EC out of his depth across the board with this. Jim Gordon pre murder as well.
did duane or clapton sang this? curious..
Clapton
Eric Clapton with Bobby Whitlock on backup vocals
Sounds like vocal and drum tracks may have been finalized. I think Duane was still sorting things out here. After listening to song a few times there are things in this recording I dont here in the original.
Lovely to hear this. Nicely inventive 'weaving'. a few minor flubs, sure, but shedloads of soul, and that's rock 'n' roll. Tremendous.
Yes Yes fkn Yes man.
By the time they found Carbone in the meat freezer it took 3 days to thaw him out just to do the autopsy! ❄
Jimmy "The Gent" Conway was settling all Debts. The reason he killed Carbone was he bought his wife that Fur Coat after the Luftunsa Heist. "Didn`t I tell you to not buy Anything!? Jimmy Burke Conway.
Duane was a Guitar God. such a loss to music. RIP Duane ❤
And that can't be overstated enough!!!
@@johnhummer265 As long as we remember him he will still live on...
RIP…Skydog..🫡
Duane sounds like he's not in perfect tuning. Sounds a little flat on the riffs but slide sounds perfect.
Thats the magic thats missing these days :(
I wish I had RUclips isolated tracks when I was learning guitar in the '80s. Learning songs would have gone a lot quicker. That said, I pretty much had the parts during the verses correct. But those weird variations he was playing during the choruses... I simply couldn't hear them well enough on my vinyl LPs.
Duane Allman much better than Eric!!
Cobblers
That statement is irrelevant.
He played a 57 Goldtop here. And even if Duane played Strats sometimes in sessions he was faithful to his Les Pauls. Eric should never left his Gibsons for Brownie. The power he had with Blues Breaker's, Cream and even with Blind Faith with the red 335 and the Firebird was gone. The only time that Eric has sounded good since 1969 was in 1994, "From The Cradle" when he had the courage to play Gibsons again. When he did the Cream reunion in 2005 it was a copy of Blackie, and that was once again performances without the power that we all associate with Cream. If Jack was able to play Felix Pappalardi' s old Gibson EB 1, why did EC fool around with a Strat? Why not a Les Paul or a copy of "The Fool". The origins is right here in Florida 1970. A Strat instead of a Gibson. Both Hendrix and Beck sounded really good on Strata but never Eric in my opinion. He gets some kind of "fizz" out of it. Greetings from Sweden to all Duane and Eric fans out there.
quite possibly!!
I may be in the minority here, but I found that anything after Unplugged the fire in his playing seemed to die down. His 80s period was godly, that 83-88 tone he had going on was killer. Coupled with the live shows during that era, it was his best period. Eric, however, felt differently, for him, the fire returned when he did From The Cradle. But he has stated in an interview recently that he's just playing things that are familiar to him until he bites the dust. Regardless, he will always be superb.
This album would never have sold had Duane not gave it his touch
Nonsense
It didn't sell at first, rolling stone gave it a bad review, later Rs attacked allbros
It’s just a collaboration man. Music isn’t a competition.
@@AllanGibb Clearly a peasant.
That's debatable. The three tracks they cut before Allman entered the picture are certainly not without merit. I think the Dominos were a very viable band on their own, as proven by their Allman-free tour. But Duane certainly added a shimmer and a spark to those tracks.
This is a very impressive soundtrack! But after listening to the original source many times, why can't I hear Duane's guitar riff in the chorus? Is it a very tinny mix?
Well one thing you can say at least he made Rock and roll history..... And then some......
I’m surprised at how much Duane sounds like Eric. No wonder they liked each other’s playing.
?? One is a slide guitarist & the other bends the strings (notes)⁉
Not entirely but partly true. When you hear Duane play withou the slide his blues sound similar to Eric’s, at least to me.
What a dumb comment
Guitar brothers
Duane was way better. Hard to believe he was only 24 when he died.
Jim gordon killed his mom.and obviously was fucking insane.
Thanks for sharing this! Wonder why it's slightly out of tune (I know it's like that in the original, something to do with the tape I guess)
