Lynels do this when they're below half of their health, otherwise there's a mod covering it. However I'm a Lynel pro, I haven't received damage for a while

Decent for someone who just started a new game. Just keep shooting head and using the strongest weapon to mount on the back and attack(This doesn’t affect durability). That’s what I do. I dont flurry or parry unless for fun because the weapons break easily. Flurry is optional. Parry is optional and kinda risky if you mess up.

You did good for someone who just started. I recommend getting good at parrying. you can practice on guardians. Just hold ZL and press A. You can parry all of the lynel's attacks, including its fireballs

Btw I actually completed the game once a while ago as in defeating all blights and ganon and even defeated a few lynels but I'm very rusty
