I'd welcome some thoughts on this. I have always used the language the the Law points us to Christ, but for some reason listening to this it hit me that this is not quite accurate. The Law (moral law) cannot POINT to Christ in the Gospel, as the Law contains no Gospel. It seems better to say that the Law drives us to see the sinfulness of sin, our need etc., leaving us prepared for Christ in the Gospel. But this means that we must hear the Gospel at this point, otherwise all we'll hear is the just condemnation of Gods Law.

I've thought about the issue a great deal, and I've come to the conclusion that when you discuss why women shouldn't be allowed to lead worship, you shouldn't start with 1 Timothy 2 or 1 Corinthians 14, but with Romans 4 and Genesis 22. People don't obey 1 Timothy 2 or 1 Corinthians 14 because it doesn't make sense to them. Women can be smart and articulate, why shouldn't they be allowed to lead worship in some capacity? But, in Genesis 22 Abraham obeys God by being willing to sacrifice Isaac, even though it contradicted everything God had told him beforehand. "God said, 'No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.'" (Genesis 17:19) "He said, 'Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.'" (Genesis 22:2) So we, as Abrahams seed (Galatians 3:29), need to obey God, not because it makes sense to us, but because God commands it. "Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him as righteousness." (Romans 4:3) And, that faith was justified by his obedience. (James 2:21-24, Hebrews 11:17-19) We have to ask our brothers and sisters in Christ: If you truly have faith in God, why aren't you willing to obey Him?

I agree that Black people who are born in America are not African but Black American. I am Black and I was born in America; therefore, I am not African. Furthermore, this race issue will continue to exist until this world comes to an end. Only God (Christ) can abolish race and racism. However, it appears to me that only Black men are offended by, and ashamed of their race, especially, the dark-skinned Black males. The collective of Black men, especially the brown and dark -skinned ones are very colorist to begin with. For decades Black men have been hating on their dark-skinned counterparts (Black women), calling them ugly, masculine, burnt, tar baby. Black male celebrities are forever degrading and bashing Black women in their rap music and videos, while praising and uplifting White women and non-Black women, even in Black movies. Black comedians are forever degrading Black women. So, why aren't you talking about that? The whole world knows that most, if not all, Black men hate being Black and that they want to be White. This is also depicted by Black men bleaching their skin to whiten it. The only reason you see some Black women doing it, is because the Black men worship White women and "Whiteness", and they are trying to fit in. This is not to say that all Black women are desperate for Black men, on the contrary. However, many Black women have accepted the fact that Black men want White women and non-Black women and mixed children. This is why you see Black male athletes and Black male celebrities dating and marrying out of their race three times the rate of other races and ethnicities of both men and women, which is extremely embarrassing to say the least. Black men are the ones who started this White worshipping and colorism. I don't see any other group of people doing this as a whole. Also, if I might add, Black men are good at fornicating with multiple women, making multiple baby mamas, making multiple out-of-wedlock babies, abusing women and children, and abandoning them. The collective of Black men only live for food, sex, entertainment, drugs, and violence. The late actor, John Wayne, was correct when he said that Black men are like children who need the White man to take care of them. John Wayne spoke no lie. TBT

The DNA should inform the family. In any case, they can use first name until the gender is established. I would think for some of these cases the biology for one gender is more prominant. For those where it is not prominant and DNA has not been determined, I am sure they would recognize the choice of gender the family has decided in terms of rearing the child.

For the first fifty years of my life I was a member of the Lutheran Church (ELCA) and I witnessed how the beginning movement in the '80s to adopt a, Reconciled in Christ, approach gave entree to acceptance of gay Christians. Then came along gay Pastors were okay if they were non-practicing. Fast forward to the second decade of the twenty-first century and having a gay or lesbian pastor is considered perfectly normal. I fled to the Lutheran Church-Wisconsin Synod which still accepts Scripture as inerrant. My next move is to the PCA for what I feel and see as a natural progression to higher learning. God be praised that in 2021, the Revoice Movement was rejected because a foot in the door is no different than leaving it wide open. No doubt the assaults will continue.

WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN You are born again when you are like Jesus. Then you are sinless 1 John 2: 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. We must be born again! Then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit do not let you sin anymore!!! To become born again you have to repent and ask Jesus forgiveness for your sins or ask Jesus in your heart! A really born again Christian has no future sins!! He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 , Eph 5 and Titus 2:14! I’ll give you my testimony: 16 May 2011 , I asked Jesus in my heart. I was ill at the time. Overstrained or burne out and very restless. I then felt a vibration going through my body from my head to my toes. Immediately afterwards I became very calm. The next morning I was again very restless. This lasted about a week. I then had a dream that I lived in a prison. And a voice then said to me that the devil had to get out of me. I then prayed for the devil to leave me. Immediately afterwards I felt that same vibration from head to toe again and at the end of it a voice said: you are now free! and now start reading the bible. Suddenly I felt a lot of peace and love. I was changed from a sinful, selfish person to a born again Christian with a lot of love for the other. And experienced a lot of rest. When Jesus has made you free, you are free from sin and free from death. Afterwards my illness was the best thing that happened to me.

I would like to argue why I don’t think repentance means a change of sexual orientation. Firstly, in my unrepentant state, when I see an attractive man, I would instantly lust and play sexual scenarios in my head. Now, when I see an attractive guy, I take a deep breath, pray to God to deal with the temptation and leave it at that. Is that not repentant in itself? If I understand from what you are saying, the mere fact that I found a man attractive is already sin in itself. Let me put forward another analogy. If a heterosexual man finds a woman who is not his wife attractive, but does not proceed to have lustful thoughts, is he still unrepentant?

    • @classicchristianliterature

I think even the best that we can do still falls short of God's glory and we sin in ways we don't even know. You have picked up on something - repentance is continual. Christians live lives of repentance. We have never "arrived" until we are glorified in heaven.

I appreciate the desire here to push back on a culture that is undermining the church, but it just seems like the targeting of Revoice is an unhelpful way of going about it. For example, in this talk the speaker contends that Revoice does not teach about the mortification of the flesh, from Romans 8:13. Can anyone point to any particular statement made by a Revoice teacher to substantiate this claim? I have read several books published by various Revoice teachers that say the opposite, that emphatically emphasize the mortification of the flesh. Unless I am missing something, there appears to be a disconnect here.
