Fox on the beach - Converted from 30fps to 60fps with Topaz Labs Video AI
Once upon a time while doing videography work during the original Pink Power Ranger Amy Joe Johnson's sister's wedding. My friend Ryan, Amy's nephew who hired me, knew that I would absolutely love to go film a wild animal if given the opportunity because that's just who I am haha. When he noticed a fox was beneath us at the beach, he was nice enough to tell me so I can run off to film it real quick ha!
This is what I managed to capture before going back to the wedding reception. That was a great day full of joy. :)
I filmed this at 30fps with my Nikon D500 and I used Topaz Labs Video AI to change it to 60fps and then I brought it back to Premiere Pro to bring it back to 30fps at half speed ...

Deer in my backyard - 8x Slow Motion with Topaz Labs Video AI

I filmed this deer eating in my backyard at 30fps and wanted to try the new Topaz Labs Video AI features so I decided to try out the new 8x slow motion feature it has. This wasn't the greatest or filmed shot I've filmed, it was slightly out of focus as I was leaning on my bed filming out of my window. Regardless, I did not try to fix any problems with Topaz Labs, Simply wanted to test the slow ...

Thanks for posting, Cesar. Are you a professional movie maker? The quality of this clip is much better than of a typical occasional YT footage. For the record (in case some viewers are not aware): Ukraine's Independence Day falls on August 24. It honours the anniversary of the enactment of the Declaration of Independence by the Ukrainian parliament on that day in 1991. Three months later a popular referendum was held, where over 90% of voters confirmed the declaration.
@@kerbicz Thank you! I wouldn’t say considered a professional but I do have experience in filming and video editing. So yes I did take time to edit the video. Stabilize, denoise, sharpen, lighting, color etc. and I’m an audio engineer for music so I also edited the audio, which I did encounter problems that needed fixing. Since my hand held was on another area while I filmed, i wasn’t keeping an eye on the levels, so there was some clipping happening every now and then that i wasn’t able to fix before hand and there was heavy winds that were very powerful in the recording so i had to fix those and make the sound better. still not perfect but i did everything i could to make it enjoyable for the viewer.
WOW!! You got a scoop here. Thanks for sharing. Great filming & good sound 👍👍She is amazing and loves her Ukraine a lot. All the best from Norway.

Band =shit!
Excellent recording! Which setting did you use on the microphone?
I found that keeping it at mono is better if you’re going to move around because you don’t want your drums and low frequencies to be panning around. And if you can’t be dead center, even if staying still, I’d still keep it at mono. As far as the high pass filter / low cut filter, I keep it fully open when it relates to music. If it’s only for talking, i’ll cut out the lows but in this case, I’d keep it wide open. And the pad switch, you have to check your camera settings and make sure that there’s no clipping in your audio. In an environment this loud, you will definitely want a microphone with a pad switch. And you’ll either need it at -10 or -20. That way there’s no clipping, which will cause distortion and it’s better to have clean sound from the start, than to try to figure out how to fix it after. I believe on this video, I did stereo since i was dead center with the camera, Wide range eq with no cut, and - 20db reduction on the pad switch.
@@HomeboiPhotography Thanks so much for your advice and explaining the different settings when recording

i wanna do toy photography 70% and nature 30%, will u pick Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AF MICRO-NIKKOR ($100)or Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 40mm F2.8 ($200)?
I would personally go with 55mm if you plan on doing nature like wildlife macro photography, like insects or animals because the more mm length, the more distance you get which makes it easier to capture the shot. but if it’s all still life, and no animal life then either one works. toy photography will be great with either one. but insect photography or close animal macro photography, i’d go for the 55mm or higher. even like 100mm or 105mm.
Great ...thanks for sharing.. I have the D500 but not that particular lens...only 70-300mm Nikkor lens, however I will consider buying the Tamron 18-400mm now that I have seen your video.. Rgds.
Do you have an ultra wide lens or an ultra wide zoom lens? if you do wildlife specifically, then the 70-300mm will be perfect, but if you are like me and you love hiking and traveling, then weight matters, and the 18-400mm becomes useful because it’s less to carry. comes in handy for times like when hiking a mountain. that way i can have less weight on my bag. i usually take my 18-400mm on my hikes and a macro lens. that way i have a wide spectrum of use without missing shots, and my 18-400mm takes care of landscapes and wildlife
@@HomeboiPhotography ..yes I have a 30mm & 50mm..also 18-200mm lens I can use but I would love to have just one lens to cover all situations as I also like to hike & snap whatever comes my way... cheers..
Nice, I’ll begin posting affiliate links to my videos so people can see what was used to make each video. In case you want to check them out or make a purchase. Thank you again for checking out the video. I have a whole playlist for that lens, feel free to check the rest of the videos out for it.
As a X by 4 and a bit, for telephoto your Nikon 70-300 should give you a better picture with less distortion. But as a all round wide angle and telephoto lens this Tamron 18-400 is the ant’s pants. Back in the day I had a Fuji S-X1 that had 28-624 mm equivalent but only 12 MP and it was brilliant as an allrounder. This Tamron lens is doing the same for a much bigger sensor so more megapixels in the count. A Nikon 7500 will give you 21 MP and a Nikon D5600 will give you about 24 MP; so really intense detail in all your shots. I’m going to get this lens, in fact its on its way to my house now, as it is a no brainer for general photography and for what it covers a total budget lens.
Great mate, I want a camera to take street shots in the rain, will this be okay don’t want to risk getting my dslr soaked
It would be useful as a back up or if the weather is bad but if it’s subtle rain, you should look into a rain cover for your dslr. also some cameras are weather proof and some lenses are too, doesn’t make them waterproof but with a rain cover, you’ll keep your camera protected without risk and you get to keep the dslr quality. i’ve taken my Nikon D500 dslr with the Tamron 18-400mm which are both weather proof and I’ve used a rain cover on them to shoot in the rain. i have a video on rain covers in my channel.
Total waste of quality opportunity to shoot great video of such beautiful scenery. Better you had not uploaded this crappy video of such beautiful natural views and wonders!!!!
Thank you for your personal response, I filmed this nearly 5 years ago before I got into photography and video. I didn’t have a good camera back then nor did I know anything about photography or film. I didn’t like the quality of the video so I never put it up. But just got the Topaz Labs Video Enhance AI and I decided to try it on this film to see the results. It was good enough for me to want to post. Luckily for me, back in 2016, the following trip was to Miami and my friends and I got robbed 3rd degree grand theft. We lost everything, wallets, phones, ID’s, cash, and 2 rental key vehicles, and the thieves found one of the rentals and stole from it too. was a big hit, we had to figure out how to road trip back home with no food, no identification, no money, and no rentals. i say luckily for me because if it weren’t for that, i would of never thought about buying dslr camera and spending a lot of time and money to learn how to do photography and create videos. so having that camera stolen was the best thing that happened to me. but you are right, such a beautiful scenery filled with wonders and all i had nearly five years ago was a shitty camera because i didn’t know better.
Great content! Keep up the good work. If you have a moment go have a browse of my channel 😃👍
Will do! Thank you!
Hey, I too have the same camera and lens combination, but everytime i import one of the raw files taken with the same into lightroom, it automatically underexposes the image by default. Any idea why this happens? I really need to resolve this issue and would really appreciate your help
Advait Nawathe I believe it happens based on wether you have a custom white balance or not. those presets the camera uses, cloudy, sunny, etc if you shoot in raw, the preset wouldn’t matter because since it’s raw, you can change it in post. i believe it goes to custom when you open it in raw. you can tweak it in lightroom or just work with the custom and go from there. so i don’t think it’s the exposure, but the white balance preset that changes. either way, always work with raw files because you aren’t losing that data and you can correct when you edit without losing detail as long as you know your exposure was good when you took the picture.
I nice vid i liked and i really want this lens can u rate it from 1 to 10
For wildlife and travel, most definitely a 9 or 10 when there’s good light. If you are doing low light stuff indoors with no lighting and no flash, i would get some primes for that. this lens is very versatile but indoors in low light, i would not rate it a 10, it would be like a 6 or 7. it just depends on what your needs are, what are you planning on shooting?
I saw that the zoom h5 was in the back of the room. How many feet would you guess the h5 was away from the stage?
James Douglas Great question, it’s not a big venue, but if I had to guess, I’d say about 40-50ft. I placed it next to the sound guy since I figured that’s where the most balanced sound would be, right at the listening point of the sound guy. Just asked him if it was ok to place it there with a small desk tripod.
thanks for this review man, i am looking forward to get mine.
Homer Aleguis Thank you for watching. Feel free to subscribe for more. There’s also a video in my page that has video examples as well.
Where is this in Mexico? It looks amazing?
Hey, this is the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. The hot springs are called "Las Grutas de Tolantongo" in Hidalgo, Mexico which are hot natural springs worth visiting. Everything else is in Pachuca, Hidalgo. Definitely a beautiful place, worth seeing!
Awesome thank you! Going to have to look into it.
If you do go, check which days they clean the hot spring pools and go the next day. So for example, I believe they clean them on Wednesday’s. So go on Thursday. That way the pools are clean and you can enjoy them at their best, before it gets too packed and busy on the weekends. Also get a map and head to the waterfall, the cave, & the river. That dark area in the middle of the video at the end where the music changes is a cave inside the waterfall. That was the most epic experience I’ve ever had. Take a waterproof flashlight, you will need it.
Very informative. I just picked up 140. Does this camera have optical stabilization or Just the digital?
Hey, thank you! It should. Here’s Fujifilm’s link that mentions it. www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/xp/finepix_xp140/
Thanks for putting this up. I received one for my bday on the 1st of this month. You photo shots are awesome did you use "Auto" photo shoot or did you use your "Manual" shooting mode? On your next trip come to Colorado during the winter and head up to Pikes Peak with it. :)
You are most welcome! That is a great question! I set it to what ever setting I felt I was going to use most of. Mostly I switched between landscape & portrait modes. However, when I was in a vehicle heading from one place to another, I set it to sport mode because the other settings wouldn't get a clear shot. Auto is a hit or miss and you would have to take multiple shots to get it right, I didn't want to risk losing a shot since things happen so fast and vacationing was priority lol.
