This song makes me think of “the one that got away”. I met her when I was 13. I’m 33 now. We’ve known each other 20 years. She feels the same way that I do, how we always have but never did anything about, but we have very long term partners and children now. The years flew by and now it’s too complicated and we’re just stuck. If you love someone, tell them before it’s too late. I guess that’s the point of my story. Anyway, loved this song and version since I first heard it when I was a teenager!

In my own humble opinion, an amazing piece of music captures 3 distinct things: simplicity, complexity, and deep emotion. This song nails ALL THREEE on the head. I am forever and always grateful to this awesome band for creating such an indescribably awesome thing to have in my life! Peace!

I remember when I downloaded this song back in High School when they posted this Demo online. First time I saw them live was at Juanitas in Little Rock with like 10 people in the crowd. They were completely trashed and the concert sucked but man this original Acoustic version was and is still a work of art.

When i was 16 i had my first and greatest love ever. My life was perfect back then and since then it has been more or less horrible in different ways... Complicated mental issues, drugs and lack of purpose has deeply wounded me and my soul... It hasnt for one day been as simple as it was back then.. When she broke up with me 2 years later i used to walk around outside listening to this song over and over and as someone else said..well..cry, and a lot. 12 years later i still dream about her several times per month. These dreams and thoughts have stayed even while i was in other meaningful good relationships, i cant explain it.. I still think that we are at some point going to meet again and spend the time we will then have left, together.
