FABRICATING AND REPAIRING OUR BUS DECK
Looking great and you say your not a welder
Thanks so much! appreciate it. I'm a carpenter working on my welding skills.
well done it ends well at the back of the bus
Thank you! Yes, we think it is turning out great!
I have many skills, but sadly, welding isn't one of them and I always wished I'd learn how. I can weld just enough to save my life and that's it. Even then, it's not pretty so I ended up with better skills working a grinder. This is looking great.
Looks great !! The back deck idea is turning out awesome
Glad you like it!
LOOKS GOOD!!
Thank you!
Ill have to come out to one of these.. i'm in northern Indiana.. looks like a great opportunity to get some cool shots with my drones.
Hello from France, I love the bridges you showed. These typically American wooden bridges are surely part of your historical heritage?
Hello there. This particular area had 31 historic covered bridges. Very cool experience to see them all in person.
@@stephenson-brown Yes, these bridges are very beautiful, I love them, thank you.
Brrrr, I'll stick with my fifth wheel! :D
Some cold nights for sure lol. We could have used a hot tub.
Your one brave couple ❤😂
Thank you. We had a great time tho!
did you guys get it running? what did it end up being? i didn't see updates on it.
No not running yet. Still working on it. Mechanic says leak or pump at this point and should be over this week or next to work on it.
Looks fantastic and you can I a welder because you’re doing a great job
Thanks 👍
It’s called throttle legging when the alternator is about ready to give out normally it’s just a belt issue, but sometimes it can be a pulley tensioner, or the whole alternator
Alternator
Also the ticking noise sounds like the injector drivers spooling up and that's a good sound for it indicates the ecm has good clean power, but audio on my little laptop is poor but to verify drivers spooling up unplug the electric motor for the brake system during testing, if you have access to another running vt365 listen for the drivers
clean power is the fuses at the battery to the ecm, there is connectors that fail from large power draw and overheating, connector at the starter and by use panel by ecm under hood
This is great information. Thank you will be spending the weekend checking these things.
While engine crank I spotted the oil pressure gauge inside was not moving , I believe you need at least 16-18 pounds of oil pressure before ecm allows injectors to fire, the oil pressure sensor is located passenger side base of oil filter canister, unplug it inspect for oil in the plug receptacle. I'm thinking that is your trouble. oil sender can fail with out oil leaking but seldom have I not had a bad sender saturated with oil. please be carefull with the either the wait to start light goes out but glow plugs continue to heat for 1 min and 44 seconds and either is relay dangerous around those things. ( helps after start to burn the raw fuel at start up preventing the white smoke.) good luck
Appreciate this! Checking what we can this weekend, diesel mechanic bringing computer over next week to find out numbers.
Lifter pump
Mark you can test relays with a multimeter. Test for input and output voltage. That ticking noise could be a relay. It sounds like a fuel delivery issue. It wanted to start with the ether so you have compression and ignition in your cylinders. I'm no diesel mechanic so this is just my best guess. Fuel relay and or clogged or gelled fuel.
Thanks Dave. i do think it a fuel delivery issue also.
it seems that the diesel is not coming?? on a car that I owned I had no smoke at the exhaust pipe and it was the diesel pump that was broken. good luck
Yes that could be it. Checking high pressure pump this week. Thank you
We did the same thing and we loved it for about 2 years...the down side is having to crawl out of the bed room. We put our old Temperpedic Home Sized King bed on the platforms and cut it to size. Since we had a home sized King the bed went from side to side and all the way to the door (we have a 5th Wheel)...After a couple years of crawling in and out we changed it up to a split twin type model with an opening in the middle between us so we can actually get in and out of bed with ease. We have a center piece that connect the two twins up at the top so we have half a king and half a twin. I much prefer to be able to stand up and change, get in and out of bed as opposed to crawling... Hope it works for you.
We agree! Its a pain to get out of the bed but we have 3 dogs so loving the extra room...lol
Now you can sleep with 10 dogs.
3 too many lol
May I ask what district did you buy the bus from? I know it's a Michigan Spec bus.
Byron, outside Kalamazoo
Was nice to see you were still able to go go go.... Will be great watching when that bus is up and ready to go go go!!! Love watching neighbors ( by a few miles) enjoying life!!!!
Thanks so much for watching neighbor! Was a great getaway. Bus will be back home from the shop this week.

Hello from France. I'm finishing watching the videos that I had late already bravo to you you can be proud of the work you have done. bravo. I'm sad for you to see your breakdown. Will you continue the videos when you are on the road?? Thank you and good luck for your breakdown, even if it's not too serious
Thank you, I will!! The bus is in the shop. Hopefully will be fixed by the end of the week!
@@stephenson-brown Courage to you, may everything go well for you

You guys did so awesome with this bus!

When is schoolie up ??
Its actually going on right now.
How are u going to get things out fom under the bed? From, Down Under
The bed is only temporary screwed down. We will be removing the top of the bed to install all of our mechanical equipment. We will start that project as soon as the bus gets back from the shop.
Keep up the good work

Hey man I drive down new every day and have seen this thing come along, sick build. Saw the RUclips on it. Noticed an excursion that looks like it’s been sitting for some time, how much you want for it?
I live 4 minutes away from you and always wondered what’s happening to this bus. I pass it everyday. Thankfully you put your RUclips on the windshield!
I miss America 🇺🇸 where we was kinda free. Ridiculous told to leave water or your paddle board for not having a life vest who are you to tell me I can't swim.
Amen ! We are NOT FREE .
Had a blast !!! Can’t wait for the next camping trip ❤️
