    Kitty, you don't remember me from Adam (even if you ever knew Him!) but I suggested some one find your RUclips videos, specifically how to build a lasso-Halter with a pole. Which video on your page shows that one? i was always fascinated with the concept

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 3 года назад

      Hi Gerry, this video From Wild to Willing showes how to put the halter on! We use a gentle horse to show slowly how to do it.

    I fear a rigid pole could prove a problem. the horse could 1. run into it causing harm to him & or you, 2. It could pierce your body or the horse's, 3. could get entangled in the horse's legs, cause you to fall & become extremely vulnerable to the wild, frightened animal, 4. He could rear, kick, or simply whirl into that thing & it could kill either one or both of you..... God forbid. pleeeease find a firm but flexable material to use. freak accidents happen on a regular basis so I really tense up when I see anyone using a rigid pole around an animal with such power & sheer force of weight, as well.... may the Holy God of the Bible be with you. Amen.

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 5 лет назад

      The bamboo pole is flexible and will break if the horse runs into it. I have gentled over a 1000 horses this way as well as many 1000's more through people who have learned and it is one of the truly safest ways to gentle a horse. I don't recommend anyone try this without some practice, which is what the full video shows so they can be truly safe. May God be with you as well!

  • @crystalroy4334

    So far you can tell he definitely wants to learn & please you. The only part was the Day 1 video that gets to me. He's a wild mustang which never heard humans so talking constantly, even in a high pitch voice, can spook more than help. Horses have no clue what you're saying & can confuse them more than anything. All I'm saying is don't always rely on verbal communication when training or to connect w/ your horses.

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 7 лет назад

      I see what you are saying, but new born babies don't understand words either, but we still talk to them and through time they learn, just like the horses do. They learn very young when you are telling them are wrong or when they are doing something right. So does a horse.

    I have a question, these type of horses can turn in to jumper horses?(sorry for the bad English)

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 8 лет назад

      With a mustang, they can have all different breeds in their back ground, so some, like Ranger are extremely athletic and some aren't. If they have the athletic ability to jump then they can be an outstanding jump horse! They already are naturally balanced, something a jump horse must possess!

    Hi Kitty , How are you and your family ? I hope you are all in fine health and enjoying life to its fullest .It has been a while since I have commented on your videos ( I am from Australia ) but I must say that I very much enjoying watching them . Your daughter is such a talented little horsewomen she has such a great way with working them she seems to be a natural at it . I guess that is probably because you had her siting in the saddle before she could walk . 😀 I would like to ask you about your opinion on educating horses to be ridden bit less , and I know it would depend on the horse I am working with but whats your opinion on training older horses who have spent a large majority of their lives ridden with a bit do you think that with patience and hard work and understanding would I have reasonable results ? ( I hope my questions don't sound ridiculous ) I have recently been watching a man in Texas who I have subscribed too and found his natural horsemanship videos very impressive and they appeal to me . His methods are strongly based upon gaining knowledge on the way a horse thinks by seeing things from the horses perspective and how the horses interact within a herd ( It's strongly based on pressure and release which is used by many other trainers including yourself ) . I always like to keep an open mind when it comes to my learning about horsemanship and don't like to limit myself and like to gain precious knowledge from different people and either take their advice on board or move on .There are always a few trainers who I always are reffering back too because I have found their advice exceptionally helpful . thank you kindly for your time Kylie.☺

I am a city gal who had no chance o be around horses, but I have always loved them. watching you was a joy because your love for them was so obvious. It is a damned shame that so many idiots - and I am being polie - are the ruination of so many creatures because they cant see the beauty of them. I look forward to seeing more of you and your work with your horses. Bless till later.

    Hi Kitty , Wow he was gorgeous boy , I could have fell quiet easily in love with him 😊 Kitty have you ever had dealings with or know about Fresians ? I was wondering what their general natures are , I understand that all individual horses are different due to their personalities, upbringings and so on but was interest in their general traits . I was interested in just trail riding for now . I hope this doesn't sound too silly to you . Thankyou kindly 😊

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 8 лет назад

      +Kylie Wilson Not a silly question at all!! I have had the pleasure to work a couple Fresian geldings and a half Fresian mare. The geldings were like giant black labs!! Super nice and a lot of fun! The mare was crossed with an arabian so she was a bit hotter but still a nice mare. They are big though with lots of action!! We even took one into the rodeo grand entry and it was sooooo funny looking with is high neck and high stepping front legs!! Hope that helps!

    • @KJMudge
      @KJMudge 8 лет назад

      +Kitty Lauman Thanks Kitty it does , I have had Quater horses in the past and was looking for a change in my riding experience and have admired Freisans for some time , well also Arabs but I would like a more cooler breed . The Freisan crossed with the Arab mare muat have been one beautiful horse , I would have liked to see her . I am pretty much set now in purchasing a Fresian now for the hard work to find a horse that is not only what I want but the horse has to want to connect with me to because I wouldn't want them to be unhappy. I know I probably sound like a nut LOL. I watch some of your videos when you went riding on trails and that country is absolutely beautiful. You guys are truly blessed to have such gorgeous mountains and forrest to ride in ☺. I am from Australia 2 hours north of Sydney and we have alot of lakes , beaches and bush trails near by which are lovely. Do you see alot of bears and mountain lions dears and elk ? I would so much love to see those animals in real life what a great experience that would be , I have heard a few people talking about Oregon and what a beautiful state it is . Well Kitty thanks for answering my question , peace , love and light to you and your family .😊

    • @laumantr
      @laumantr 8 лет назад

      +Kylie Wilson I do love Oregon! We see deer and elk on a regular basis but only occasionally bear and I have never seen a cougar in the wild but some different friends have! It is very cool! I have always wanted to see Australia! My husband used to dive a lot and that was one of his dream places to go! Enjoy your Freisan!!!! :-)

  • @KJMudge
    @KJMudge 8 лет назад

    Hi Kitty , You and your husband certainly have two talented little stars in the making . They are both so clever in the way they recited their poems with such passion , expression and humour . I thoroughly enjoyed their performance and believe they could have quiet a following if it is something they choose to persue . A big well done to Josie and Tanner and let them know that they were seen all the way down in Australia and very much enjoyed 😊 I haven't seen any recent posts on your gentling horses , I watch a series of other videos when you were working with a horse and how you did such wonderful work bringing him out of his shell and learning to trust people and wanting to work with them . Which I found not only educational but also inspiring . I was impressed with your gentle and compassionate understanding of his needs and how you took it on his terms. I am looking forward to watching your future videos , I am a strong believer that to be a truly accomplished at horsemanship you must first understand what your horse is thinking and telling you and through compassion and understand you can create a strong bond with your horse, or any horses you interact with . It's just understanding that although the horses language is the same their personalities and needs can be very different. I wish you and your family peace , love and light and take care 😊

  • @KJMudge
    @KJMudge 8 лет назад

    Hi Kitty I watched your videos with great interest and followed the development of Raanger from his very first day until the big compition and he has come through with flying colours and has forged a wonderful bond together . Ranger is such a magnificent looking horse and I look forward to seeing his progression over the coming months. I would also would like to thank you for your videos , I found your pressure and realease method gentle and encouraging I have watched quiet a few different trainers over the years some good some not so good and on the brink of cruelty. I always believed that to get a horse to communicate and trust you that you should first watch the horses themselves especially wild horses Mustangs, Australia Brumbies ect because their actions are pure horse that hasn't been corupted by man and once you learn how a horses think then you have a better ground when you start working with the horses. I really admire you teaching and will certainly contine to watch your videos . Take care and god bless Kylie

    Observations between your square pen and a round pens: Note: The 4 corners of the 90-degree angles in your square pen, forces the horse to constantly hit walls; therefore its not surprising that this horse hit the wall and then tried to jump out of your very small square pen. Note: Round pens don't have 90-degree angles. If the pen was round you would have less incidences of horses hitting the panels or trying to jump over them. In round pens the bend of the panels force the horse to move forward and away from the panels, horses bend to the inside which discourages hitting walls and jumping.
