Reenactment Days
Добавлен 13 фев 2020
This channel will be about tips of reenacting, what and where to look for in quality gear and how to tell original gear from reproduction. I also have a discord channel for asking questions about WWII and sharing things about WWII so if you are interested you can find the link in the description or some of my newer videos and right below this text.

1942/43/44 Willy MB Restoration Update No.4
I've done some work to the engine and to many items have been fixed up and are ready for installation. Still need to weld the tub together but once that is done the progress of work will speed up. I already got a new item to restore after the jeep is done.

This is my first initial thoughts about the ATF repro raincoat. It is a very nice coat and I'm quite happy with the purchase but I do have some advice before ordering.

Battle For The Airfield 2023 Footage Shot On Original Camera
Просмотров 5149 месяцев назад
This is a 16mm film shot of Collings Battle For The Airfield 2023 shot on a Kodak model K. This reenactment looks very original on 16mm film/ If you find yourself out near Hutson Massachusetts's early October defiantly check out the reenactment and the American Heritage Museum. Sorry for some parts being unsteady. It has no stabilizer and I had to crank the camera during some of the longer parts.

First Update to my Jeep project. Not much is going on with it right now but I will show what needs to be done and show more of the parts I have. This series is not going to be a step by step restoration tutorial it is just going to be updates on my project.
Getting Dressed As A 1927 US Infantryman
Просмотров 93511 месяцев назад
This is more of an obscure topic in history. You don't hear much about the army in the 1920s and the 1930s so I made this video to make this information out into he public and the history is not forgotten. This uniform was standard issue from 1926-1933 when a new service shoe got developed and more items went into production.

what a nightmare they made that endeavor "in the words of Gunny Highway "it's a clusterfuck sir" lol"

How do you unloosen to take off
''Mess Tin'' is British. ''Mess Kit'' is American. ''Meat Can'' is Marine slang.
Are those buttons in the cuffs for blousing?
Nobody here seems to know the best method of all time. Snap the top center seam together, lay it completely flat with all 4 wings pointing straight out. Stake 1 half on the 3 loops along the straight. Take 2 of the 6 poles pieces, go to the pole grommets and stick the single section of pole in it. Pull it into a standing position, flipping towards the set stakes. Continue to lay it flat creating an overlap that will be 1 pole section long. Stake the 3 other loops. Now you can retrieve your 2 poles sections from the overlap and install the 2 assembled poles. Tie guy lines to temporary stake points. Snap the wi is together and install the stakes. On the closed end undo the guy line stake, then run the guy line through the snaps between the fabric layers and tie it to the wings stake, this eliminates 1 trip Hazzard. Go the the open end and partially stake both of the loops, make sure to leave the side you want to use as a flap closer to the head of the stake. Once the stake is most of the way down slip it off the stake and finish setting the stake. Adjust walls as needed.
Did anyone else notice he missed a belt loop😂😂 oh well its easy done
Where to get that template
Selling some gear if anyone is interested
If it’s okay with you can you put the link in your Description to the jeep paint because the paint I used for my M1 Helmet wasn’t that good so I am going to take your word for there jeep paint and use it on my M1 Helmet thx
@@PVTLogan12 Sure thing, it's in there now
@@reenactmentdays5891 Ty and keep up the good work 🫡
Do you have a preferred supplier? I am just getting into it. I am looking at SOF based out of the UK but they seem expensive.
Cool thanks mate
Cool, this helps me understand some of my grandfather’s photos.
Do you have any mess tin menus for cooking in the woods ?
I'm restoring a fixed bail m1 helmet so what paint did you get and how much was it if you don't mind me asking
The chinstrap bales are very interesting i dont think ive seen those type before and the lack of a heat stamp may suggest it may not be an original. Im not an expert on them howver so take what youd like with it
@@literallyryanbreer7656 i was still quite new to this stuff then, I later found out it's a civil defense helmet from the 30-40s. Still couldn't go wrong for $10 tho
@@reenactmentdays5891 absolutely not and from afar no one could possibly tell the difference.
F in the chat for use big calf guys. I made it work, but could be better. Mine are that yellowish tan, and I'm thinking of dying them brown. I have them for reenacting, but not WW2. I'm using them for western shooting matches, old west reenactments, ect. Also wanted something for keeping my pant legs from snagging on my motorcycle shifter, and something for hunting, to keep from getting my boots soaked from morning dew. Edit: Actually, I do the occasional korean war reenactment, so I guess that's close enough lol
What about the musette bag
I just bought one of these. Have you made a video of how to carry it in your long duffel bag?
Where's your m1926 lifebelt? Good impression though!
You restore an Civil Defense Helmet, not WW1.
what kind of chip/ grain/ powder you scatter on it?
The first aid pouch location was moved from the left rear to front right in 42 (I think)
man I can't believe this is 2 years old already it felt like yesterday when you started the series
I just got an original pair, thanks
REPOP?😳 Not gorilla glued together like WPG POS?🙄 Jman
Do they have ponchos? I'd rather have the old school rubberized fabric type over the thin nylon ones.
The US Marines were issued with a reversible camo poncho and soldiers in the Pacific were issued with a solid green poncho.
Great video as always can you do a ww1 German video please you helped me make my channel and now I have 69 subs!
@@YellingRebReenacting Nice, what would you like to see for a wwi German video?
@reenactmentdays5891 What ever honestly maybe What you need Where to buy stuff How to wear stuff History of certain things How to darken leather stuff Etc
I'm thinking about buying one, but I want ask you a question does the jacket feel rubbery on the inside?
@@ReillySulser-bt3dl explain feel rubbery if you could.
@@reenactmentdays5891 Like slippery
Great review and videos keep up the good work!

@@quacked7891 real!
I liked the video man.. always great when you post
Again, way too much cork
@@BloodofmyKindred take into consideration that most of it will fall off with normal use
Way to heavy on the cork
Where did you get all of these stuff?
Most of it is from what price glory. The belt, helmet, haversack and bayonet are original. The campaign hat is made by prairie flower leather co. They make top tier repo helmets, liners and campaign hats but they do take a while. I'm pretty sure it's 3 guys in an old barn running the entire business but they do fantastic work.
There was a cigarette company Player that made a navy cut pack that was designed to fit in the breast pocket of the dress uniform, also the trousers had 13 buttons. My uncle was a WWII vet and and I have a picture of him in his dress blues wearing a Dixy Cup cover.
Vietnam impression is in my top 5 plus vietnam stuff is very easy and cheap to find. I'm only missing 4 items, and I can pick those up for cheap. The only thing that isn't cheap is a real ar that looks like an m16a1 or an m1a. So right now I use airsoft. To complete the look
I'm here because I saw these in the movie saving private Ryan. Exactly what is their purpose?
They provide a very slight protection against water but their main purpose was to keep the bottom of your trousers from catching on things and ripping
@@reenactmentdays5891 thanks mister I think they look cool on soldiers. Greetings from the Philippines 🇵🇭🖐🏼
Ok the service boot actually was worn in combat. When the us entered the war that was the armys standard boot. But there is footage and pictures of guys wearing them all the way to the end of the war.
Gators? It's gaiters.
well your tee shirt is wrong where are the GI issue undershorts with the button fly and string on the side to adjust size,, plus a few other basic items not shown here
For years i thought that Dana Designs built the Racer X modeled on the M 43 jungle pack. Then i saw this thing. The only thing it's missing is a dry bag.
I'd give anything to be a participant but sadly this helferin is unit less.:'(
Get the violinist!!!
I have a pistol belt because I don’t have a m1
I did a ww 2 Seabee yesterday I need to work on it
What do you think about the Corcoran jump boots from Miltec? And which is better Miltec or QMI?
Thank for the video, helped loads
