If the electric grid ever dies, then that’s when we learn to be connected again. Sometimes disasters can bring people together. Even to this day, this message has aged like wine. One of the best songs of the 90s in my opinion.
I first heard this song on WXRT in Chicago circa 1993. God bless that station! Those DJs (at the time) were allowed a certain amount of freedom to share their musical interests. I heard such a great diversity of musical styles. It is something that was already instilled in my psyche. Growing up, I heard my Grandparents music, my parents music and my older cousins music. Basically every type of musical style from the 1910s through the 1970s!! And here I found myself working, discovering music of my own and I come across WXRT! On that station I heard hidden gems from artists that I already knew about, new music from current artists and music from artists i knew about but had never heard and music from artists that i had never heard of! At the time, WXRT was the only station i listened to. They would play anything! From Frank Sinatra to Frank Zappa. From Johnny Cash to Johnny Marr. From Country Joe and the Fish to Joe Satriani. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. This song hit like a ton of bricks! So different. So fun.
If you know yourself good enough. You should know if something is wrong. Listen to yourself what you're body and mind is trying to tell you. You will know what the answer is.....
