5 years ago I was a DRUNK. 5 years ago I started a journey.
My journey began with SOBRIETY and soon lead me down a path of learning and discovery.
The discoveries never end and that is a good thing for the newly sober!
At first I wondered just what did sober people do with all this newly found time I had on my hands? The days seemed long at first, but as I grew time seemed to disappear!
My businesses exploded! My RUclips channels exploded! My income exploded! Now I needed something else, I needed a hobby!
Holidays for sober, ex party animals, like myself are never going to enjoy a beach holiday again. Beach holidays to me were always just an excuse to get drunker than usual!
So now my holidays are road trips. I love the open road and I love history and nature.
My road trips are based on a few simple rules:
No toll roads.
No motorways.
Ancient history should be in the country I visit.
It should be hot!
Nature should abound wherever I go.

CHEAP TIRES! It's like racing slicks on a wet road! Hiring a car in Mexico is dodgy!
DO NOT run out of fuel in Mexico!
If the car in front indicates....what does it mean on Mexican roads?
Todays Mexico roadtrip is from Salina Cruz to Puerto Escondido.
It was well worth the early wake up from the dawn chorus of dogs and cockerels in Salina Cruz because it meant I was on the beach at Puerto Escondido by 10am!
Pelicans on the beach kind of sums this lovely little Mexican holiday resort up.....awesome.
My hotel was excellent (for a change!).
The hotel was actually better than I had expected after my recent upse...

hey, im travelling to the Canary Islands from Birmingham Airport in early August. How long before my flight do you recommend me getting to the airport?
It seems to be much better now but it also depends on luck it seems! I flew back to Birmingham last weekend and there was no one queuing at all, but I’ve also heard people being stuck in queues recently too. Good luck…..at least they have built a covered area outside so you won’t get soaked like I did. 😊

In the UK the only roads that don't have potholes are drive throughs our road's are shocking

In Mexico there are only two road surfaces. Pot holes or speed bumps. Sometimes you will have miles and miles of the two combined together. Oh the joys! (I hope you subscribe as the pot holes get much much worse!)
in Europe it's just signaling to the person arriving that, as the last person in the queue, we're Not moving at all, the traffic is really stopped.

@@johnhamilton6768 I’m just working on editing the next days journey. I’d forgotten quite a lot of the things I saw and did. The one thing I hadn’t forgotten was when I got robbed by 8 police officers at the end of a very long and arduous road trip day. The corrupt authorities were much scarier than anything else I discovered tbhwy. I’m not a fan of authorities, I’m even less a fan of corrupt authorities. 😡 But the rest of Mexico was pretty amazing. 🙂

I thought quitting would be impossible for me. But then I was told if I wanted IVF I had no choice but to stop. Very soon after quitting my cough disappeared, my asthma I’ve had since I was 5 is essentially gone, my reflux is gone, my migraines have lessened, and the baby I’m carrying isn’t being damaged. SO happy I quit
