Thanks to Alan Bershaw for original video.
Unconvincing AI, but still a bit disturbing. Still a great voice and song though.
I’m not sure I remember a lot of this sort of stuff but I’m pretty sure there was that type of thing back then… often they would ware flayres and afghan wolf costs with pot and wotnot… oh and patch ooli oil of course - lentil bake! Oh yes who are these spectral types glistening across our screen? Who knows?? 😮
she's a wonder
english life
I could tell it was an AI immediately
Ýes, me too. I found it a bit disturbing to be honest, as I have probably seen every available video of Sandy Denny and she died over 46 years' ago.
Brilliant, Sandy was such a great songwriter, as well as incredibly moving singer. Thanks for this.
powerful
I saw Sandy and Fairport open for Jethro Tull at the Santa Monica Civic after the release of Jethro Tull's Stand Up
I'd only heard Blackwaterside by Bert Jansch which was a jaunty version. When I heard Sandy's cover I had chills up my spine. I had a similar feeling hearing Led Zepplin doing Willie Dixon songs
Rest in peace your talent is missed
Dustist coal from the mines of south sudan
Really desperate and scared of Farage these pathetic lefties are now ! This is so cringeworthy !
This is what living on the dole amounts to. Go get a real job sexton and don't forget your meds. Loser 👎

She had a great voice but she is out of time a lot
So What.
Such a singer is never out of time. She’s not a metronome and the band is mostly there to decorate the vocals, until they rock out.
Such a voice 🌹✨️RIP Sandy Denny
WOW! Rare footage of Sandy Denny.
Nemmeno Maria madre di Gesù aveva una VOCE così.Sandy sei fantastica
She missed a verse
I still consider Sandy as the best female vocals to date...singing 7-10 minute songs without faltering is a feat rarely new singers can do these days.

1974.
she is an Angel
Thank you❤❤❤
This song must have meant so much to her. Wow, great performance. Thanks so much for posting it.
Just think what peter jackson could have had out of this footage..., if the money was in it! <3
❤
Thanks for the upload
Folk Rock eh? At the time i was listening to The Incredible String Band, tyrannosaurus rex, and whatever John Peel played...
What do you recommend by the incredible string band?

Wonderful sound quality, thanks❤
Amazing ❤
Huge thanks for the upload. It has made my day! I have only ever seen a brief 15 second clip of this that I recorded on VHS from a programme about Island Records in the mid-1980s. I was starting to think I had imagined it! Sadly, Sandy Denny was gone just before I discovered her music. Such a beautiful voice and a great songwriter. I saw Natalie Merchant do a wonderful impromptu version of 'Matty Groves' in a tiny Yorkshire venue on a really warm, never to be forgotten evening in July 2018.
The rubbish they pure out today has now relevance in the English language. Glad I've lived long enough to have it all on my brain.
I saw them many times. You have no idea now. I knew I was watching history in the making. Now 50 years later my profecy in do true.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!! Sandy GOAT Denny!
Live footage of Sandy is SO rare - makes this very precious. Only other one I've seen here on RUclips is a partial "White Dress" - anything else I've missed? Much appreciated. 🥰
@@karischenk8216 thanks. I can only hope.
The Fotheringay box set released about 5 years ago has a DVD with 4 songs from the 1970 German 'Beat Club' TV session. All of the 'Beat Club' recordings are of excellent quality. Unlike the BBC, they kept their tapes of early 1970s bands. All of the Fotheringay videos have been on RUclips at some point. The songs were: 'Nothing More' 'Gipsy Davey' 'John The Gun' 'Too Much of Nothing' Also on RUclips is film of three songs that Sandy recorded for a BBC programme in the early 1970s. Songs are: 'Late November' 'North Star Grassman and the Ravens' 'Crazy Lady Blues' There are also few very grainy videos, presumably from the same Birmingham show as this 'Matty Groves' video, with Sandy singing at the piano. Songs include 'John the Gun', 'Solo' and 'Like an Old Fashioned Waltz'. I am hoping that better quality film may emerge one day.
3:21 @@karischenk8216 I have never seen a video of 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' but there were videos from German TV of Fotheringay playing 'John The Gun', 'Nothing More' and 'Too Much of Nothing'. There is also the BBC video of Sandy singing 'Late November', 'North Star Grassman' (both at the piano) and playing 'Crazy Lady Blues' on guitar.
@@portcullis5622 Such gr8 footage,Nothing more is a particularly strong and John the gun is,i think the definitive version.
that White Dress thing you mention is simply incredible ! TV Gold for sure.......
Ahhhhhhhhh 🎉❤😊 xxx
Great footage can’t help feel the tempo is a bit to slow and plodding on this version but still great to hear and see
:D
sweetwest voice . R.ip Sandy Denny .
Love this song
My all time favourite female vocalist
Mine as well.
My God - what memories!!! Saw her on that tour - sublime!!!
One of the all time greatest vocalists right there ,her voice reached the soul of my ancestors
It’s a shame that so little performance video of Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention are still in existence. But the selling point the videotape companies made is that while the tape was initially more expensive than film, the tape could be wiped clean and reused. It was also thought at the time that few in TV audiences would want to see shows after they’d been aired.
Saw Fairport with her do this song, probably '74 in Berkeley or San Francisco. ❤️ sigh...
Pretty cool that you remember hearing MG. What other songs did they play? Id love to go back in time! I'd trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday. But i was also 4 years old in 1974 so probably couldn't get into the place anyway! Peace.
Such a shame that Sandy died at such a young age. She was very talented in singing folk music and her songs are perfect to put you in the mood of fantasizing. I’m just thankful that she left us some great songs for us to remember her by
Great!
