I thought for sure this was a song by Dave Chappelle.

I was born in 1974, and we often sang a version of this song to see who was it. Then it evolved into catch a tiger by the toe.

My 96-year-old mom and I (66 yrs.old) both learned this song in school. We sang it together yesterday.

I think the problem we have in this country is that white people like to think the racism used to be at about a 9 and now it's down around a 2. But really, it used to be around 10,000 and now it's down around 4,000. Huge progress, sure. And still insanely racist. The idea we could come down from the country represented in this song in only 100 years is totally absurd.
