Like many southern women before me I like to show my love and caring by cooking. I want a record of my recipes for my sons. Someday if I am not around, I want them to be able to see how I cooked if they have a taste for something I made. I would give so much to have such a record of my mom's and grandmothers' cooking. We take so much for granted when we have them. So many of the recipes I loved growing up left with them.
Southern cooking encompasses so many different types of food. We think fried chicken and grits and yes these are some of my favorite foods, but a good southern cook learns to cook whatever they find. I hope I achieve this! That is why I have so many casseroles of different ethnic flavor. It is so good!!!!

Broccoli Beef Braid
1 lb. ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
Garlic to taste (opt.)
3 cups frozen chopped broccoli (I didn’t use the broccoli)
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
½ cup sour cream
¼ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
2 tubes (8oz. each) refrigerated crescent rolls
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic (I added just a little salt and pepper) over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in broccoli, cheese, sour cream, salt and pepper; heat through.
2. Unroll 1 tube of crescent dough onto a greased baking sheet; form into a 12x8-in. rectangle, pressing...

I like making braids. They are versatile. This looks good and I would add the broccoli. 😋 Yeah it is best to do this on the baking sheet because cutting board makes it hard to put together. Even though the one tore I am sure it still taste good.

New subscriber here. Lovely channel and video. Hope we can stay connected. I love my broccoli, so I would add it. Garlic does go well with a lot of recipes, especially beef, I think They looked delicious when cooked. If you put flour on your baking tray it might help you to be able to move it.
