My grandfather, Meir Rosin, died on 17.5.1917 in Jerusalem. He was only 41 years old. My mother was 5 years old at the time. He was an artist and engaged in activities such as painting, photography, model building, souvenir creation and more. He had to provide for a large family (seven children). My mother was his last surviving daughter. Most of his works were lost and just a few preserved. In...

Diana Damrau as Queen of the Night, Die Zauberfloete, Vienna, Muti
Awful interpretation with obvious period (maybe even baroque) instruments, same can be said about that poor man's ballet.
Grande musicalità e timbro splendido! Brava
Original puesta en escena y la música preciosa, claro es Wagner.
Stage based on Böcklin's Die Toteninsel ?
They're very talented, but what does this have to do with Die Fledermaus? Feels gratuitous.
There is a customary intermission during the ball at Prince Orlosky's where different people are performing, on one from Covent Garden 1984 with Kiri Te Kanawa was Charles Aznavour, ballet dancers and a tenor sang Funiculi Funicula in a jail cell and it was fun, after all it is a comedy opera / operetta.
Die armen Ferkel - man sieht ihnen die Angst deutlich an....
I saw this on TV a decade ago and still sing the sabre chorus, I tried to find the name of the opera years later and failed - it just popped into my head again and here it is! Can't wait to go download the whole thing.

Muy lindo color del tenor... Claro acostumbrado mi oído a que los agudos sean mas cubiertos... Da la impresión de falta de timbre y apoyo.. Pero de lo moderno.. Lo más claro y no engolado.. Qye hay... Un 7
Thank you very much for posting this. Yes, it is very much worth one's while to see Ms. Damrau act, she gives a very convincing performance. I'm also glad to find her performance of this from 2006 with Muti in Vienna. I just watched him conduct the overture to the opera in a video also from 2006 at the Salzburg Festival in Vienna, and wondered if I could find Ms. Damrau's aria from the same performance. Looks like you've posted it. Thanks again.
Wunderbar!
Better than most french present artists!
It is beyond shameful that this ballet is so frequently omitted. After such a sorrowful story it really brings the humanity back to the work. The music expresses every conceivable human emotion, from excitement to sorrow to hardship to heartache to anger and finally to triumph. A worthy and important ending for the characters in question and a celebration of endurance in the face of impossible odds. I thank Nikolaus Harnoncourt for including it and giving it his signature imagination.
I couldn't agree more. After the incredible emotional trauma of the plot, the ballet is necessary as a sort of 'decompression' so that we (and the characters!) can regain our equilibrium. And unlike Les petits riens, this ballet music finds Mozart in top form. I wish they could find the lost ballet Le gelosie del seraglio that was played between the acts of Mitridate at its premiere.
@@jasonhurd4379 it really reminds me of the ancient concept of catharsis. Which certainly fits in with the Cretan setting
@@manolis.799 I hadn't thought of the ballet being a sort of catharsis, but of course you are absolutely right. Harnoncourt certainly saw it that way. He said more than once that the reason so many of Händel's concerti grossi end with a quiet minuet is to bring the listener back to a sort of emotional equilibrium after all the Sturm und Drang of the preceding movements. After all, the stated objective of a composer in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries was to move the passions of the listener, but to have done so and then to have 'left him hanging' in a kind of heightened emotional state would have been a grave disservice to the listener, and left him unable to cope with everyday life in a civilised society.
@@jasonhurd4379 wow! well said. they were artists indeed.
Harnoncourt's CD version of Idomeneo on Teldec should likewise be commended for beautiful arias that are included like Arbace's "Se cola ne fati è scritto" sung by Kurt Equiluz. I have looked into MP4 versions on RUclips and this aria is nowhere to be found. Pity, as it is a touching aria whose text shows altruism at its best. Ballet music KV 367 is an appropriate ending but owing to the entire length of the opera, some cuts have to be carried out, thus this exclusion, among others, as accessories to KV 366.

Marvelous singer, a superb Cenerentola

Best Non Piu Mesta I’ve ever heard! Kills all prime Donna mezos.

She’s incredible! My favorite 💕
Yes this is excellent and very, very funny. The polka is not from Johann Strauss but his brother Josef Strauss. The name of the polka is Jucker Polka - opus 27 - and takes about 2.15 minutes. Ulbe Anema from Wolfheze / Holland
Sadly the 2 State solution was destroyed deliberately with illegal settlements that even though everyone knew was wrong and that it broke the Geneva Convention and despite the whole world trying to end it and create peace the weakness of successive US Government in the modern era allowed to happen. If ever the effect of money in politics and elections and making the act of bribery legal has had a detrimental effect one only needs look at America were few popular laws are passed. If the rich and powerful want it, its passed but if 95% of the population want something its barely passed.

This was at the Met??? I highly doubt it.
I usually double check. I uploaded this more than 16 months ago and don't really remember. I may be wrong but I like her singing, .
Her singing is great. It's the production that makes me doubt your assertion. The Met has a very popular Cenerentola production, which is different from this one.
You are right! It's from Roma www.operaroma.it/en/shows/opera-cenerentola-2016/ Let's be sutisfied with the singing...
