IKEA Craft Area Tour ~ Small Space Polymer Clay + UV Resin Organisation (2024)
Hi, everyone! :)
I filmed a craft area tour video! In it, I share close ups of my different crafting/work areas where I make polymer clay/UV resin charms, stickers, and silicone molds, and where I package shop orders. I also show my furniture and allllll of my craft supplies that I've collected over the years.
I don’t have a separate craft room (I craft in part of the living room), so I have to organise the space in a way that works for me. I hope I can give you some tips and ideas for your own space, if you’re in the same situation!
Also, I know the video is a super long one, but I really wanted to show a comprehensive look into the space. If you made it through to the end, I hope you enjoy...

Great product. I love the creations made from clay.
Thank you so much! I do, too! They’re so fun and unique! ☺️💕
thank u for sharing this is the best most helpful tutorial. it's my first year making these and i wanted to find tips on how to make them perfect
Aw, thank you so much! I’m so glad it was helpful and gave you some tips along the way! Good luck and have fun making them! ☺️💕🎄
So easy yet I still failed
Oh, you should have seen when I was filming this one! It was mistake-city and I had to re-film over and over again, it wasn't easy! It probably took me about 5 tries to get it right, so don't worry! Keep trying and you'll get there! 💕☺️
One of the best tutorials ! Thank you so much on behalf of my teeny little shop 😅
You're very welcome, I'm so glad it was helpful to you! All the best with your shop, too! ☺️💕
TYSM ❤ What a great, informative vid 👏 I have one question though......when sanding with the wet/dry what actual grits should you start and then end with ? Kind rgds and thanks again.
You're very welcome - I'm so happy it was helpful to you! So, generally, the lower the number, the coarser the grit, so you want to start with a low one and gradually move to a higher one. So, for example, you could start with 400, then move to 600, then 800 to 1000, or even higher, if you wish. I think for flat jewelry, this would be the way to go -- starting with a grit as coarse as 400 and ending on 1200 for an ultra high shine. Personally, since my pieces are quite small, I generally don't do a lottt of sanding after baking on my charms, since I prefer to clean the piece up before baking (with nail polish remover and Q-tips), so I typically like use a higher grit, starting with 1000 and end with 1200, since I only need to sand a few bumps away, sometimes. In any case, I prefer the wet method, and would absolutely do a sanding test on some baked scrap pieces, so you get to know how the sanding process works and test how much sanding you need to do to achieve the look you're after, so you don't ruin your finished piece. I hope that all makes sense and helps! 💕☺️
I love your area!!!
Aww, thank you so much! ☺️💕
Goodness how cute 🦇
I’m so happy you like it, thank you! ☺️💕
Great video! I have to get some of those peg boards!! What a nice great way to make use of the space with all the different areas. I need to do some organising after seeing this! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! ☺️ The pegboards are great! I really like them, and you can have lots more 'around' your craft space, without having too much stuff on the actual desk. I love that it makes more room for things. Yepyep -- because the space is so small, I have to have different areas that are organised, so there's a sort of 'flow' when I work. I hope the video's given you some fun ideas for your own craft area! 💕🎨
I love UV resin but it’s so pricey. Ugh I do other resin creations but if it’s small and I need it quicker I will use UV resin
Same - it is expensive, I so agree. Definitely, for bigger things, I would absolutely use something else! ☺️💕
What if I was just checking the play while inside the oven? is that taboo? I mean would it be brittle because I opened and closed the oven for checking?
That should be fine, if it's just a quick thing. Just make sure the temperature doesn't go down, or you'll have to wait until it comes back up to adjust timing. Usually, though, if things with the oven are correct, you don't need to open it to check, you can just look at the thermometer through the window. I hardly ever open mine, since I know that the oven temperature is set properly, and the oven doesn't spike. My clay is totally covered with a foil tray, so I can't see anything anyway, without having to take the tray out and lifting the lid to check, but it always turns out fine because the settings and bake time are correct. I would also get to know your oven with some test pieces, first, so you have a lot of confidence while baking. I hope that makes sense! ☺️💕
@Cloudfetti thank you for your response 🥰 I'll ask more tips on you in the future. Do you have Instagram? Can I add you? 😊

Aww, you're welcome and thank you so much! I love the colours, too! ☺️💕
there's no baking instructions in my clay box. it melted:(
Aw nooo! If there’s no baking instructions, it’s most likely not polymer clay, but something like plasticine/modelling clay. That type of clay is wax based and isn’t meant to go in the oven. Sorry that happened to you, but you can buy some oven bake polymer clay and give it another try! 💕☺️
Do you have a Ko-fi account? I want to add a thank you as your tutorials are straight forward and absolutely one of the best!!! Also, is it necessary to use polymer glue or will the pieces stick well just by having the clays touch? Thank you so much 😊
Hi, Linda! So sorry for the late reply, I've been editing videos all day! I don't have a Ko-fi account, sorry, but just finished setting up a donations listing on my online shop! If you'd like to send a thank you and support the channel, you can do so, here -- ✨ cloudfetti.bigcartel.com/product/itty-bitty-tip-jar ✨ -- any tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for suggesting it, what a great idea, and thank you so much for your kind words, too 💕 Raw clay will stick to raw clay on its own, but you can use polymer clay adhesives to add a little more support, if needed. I like to use it to do that, as well as stick baked pieces to raw clay. You could also put a piece of wire in places for extra support too, hehe. I hope that helps! ☺️
@@Cloudfetti oh ok great idea. I never thought about the wire which would add great support. Thank you and love that you put a ‘tip jar’ as I love to give tips to creators that help my creativity and help me to learn more 😊💝
@@Linda-rs5qt Oh, yayyyyy! Your donation came through! Thank you so so much for your support, I really appreciate it and it means so much to me! 💕💕💕 Yes! I use little bits of wire, here and there, for support. Since my designs are pretty small, the excess wire from an eye pin works really well (I cut my eye pin wires shorter), but if you're working on something bigger, like a sculpture, I'd use something like armature wire ☺💕
@@Cloudfetti oh yes an eye pin, I have plenty of those too. Ok perfect! Thank you 😊
You're very welcome! ☺️💕
how many seconds or minutes should I use the uv light when I apply uv resin to my clay?
@@akariitakahashi It depends on how much UV resin you’ve used, the ambient temperature and the strength of your UV light, but generally, I find the UV light is quite fast. When I cure my resin coated charms, I put it under the UV light for about 20 minutes, then check it. I’ve found that all up, it can take around 45 minutes. Though, each UV resin and lamp can be different, so keep checking it until it’s done 💕☺️
Very cute!
Thaaank you! ☺️💕
This is so sweet! You do a great job on anything you create. What was the dimension of the cutter you used for the brownie? Thx!
Aw, thank you so much! I just measured it, it's approximately 2cm wide x 2cm deep x 1.9cm or 13/16" wide x 13/16" deep x 3/4" tall. It came in a set like this, and it's the smallest square: shorturl.at/3BNqR ☺️💕
Angela, thank you for the information. I think I have this set of cutters. I definitely want to try making this one. Love all your charms!

I'm so happy you like it! Aww, your kitties sound super adorable! The fluffiness! 🥰💕
This is so cute! First ball of yarn that I have seen. Do you bake for 30 minutes each time you bake new additions to the yarn ball? Thx!
Thank you so much! I baked for about 40 minutes after each new addition ☺️💕
Your video is so informative and helpful. The paper clip and skewer idea is genius. Thx for sharing all the tips.

@@Cloudfetti ❤💕
So cute! Newbie here!! How are you getting the eyes, flower and mouth to stick to the ghost?
@ralondaheston785 Hello! Welcome to my channel! Thank you so much! So, raw clay will stick to raw clay, so you can just press them together and it will adhere. You could use some liquid clay (Sculpey Bake and Bond, for example), for a bit more bond, but I don’t really use it for things like this. I do use a little silicone brush tool with a very gentle touch to attach them on, so I don’t squish anything, then just bake as normal 💕☺️ I hope that helps!
Do you know if you can bake polymer clay in an air fryer?
I haven't tried it in an air fryer, but I would assume so, if there's a bake option. I'm not sure if it could bake at the correct temperature for long enough, but give it a try and see how it goes. Just make sure to do lots of tests before baking a proper piece in it ☺💕
@Cloudfetti Thank you. And thank you for the awesome video.
@@sunny200071 You're very welcome! 💕☺
Why is my clay breaking?😢😢
You're either not baking it long, and/or hot enough. You could also be using a brittle brand of clay, like Sculpey III, which snaps when it's rolled thin, regardless if it's baked well. There are several other factors, but the video goes through various tips to stop it from breaking, I hope it helps you! 💕☺
Can I really use top coat?
Yes! Just make sure it’s UV gel top coat, not the normal clear nail polish ☺️💕
@@Cloudfetti The same as what I saw on your video. Btw, Thank you🥰
