Do you have a method for coming up with the Lead melody? I always try to create kawaii(?) melodies just like this but dont really end up with the end result that I want. Any tips?
i don't have a specific method, but i'll explain what i do: start with a really good main melody (in this case, piano), if u have a good foundation, u can use the ghost notes and make the job way easier (i showed it in my previous tutorial). choose a good sounding preset, i prefer to use "vocal" leads; vsts i recommend for leads: purity, zenology & serum. play a lot with timings, glides and short notes, aim to make catchy melodies that repeats with small variations here and there. often i also hum melodies and it helps a lot.

Using a nylon guitar instead of a piano for the main melody is also something that is used a lot in diaryplugg
right, also electric pianos are used a lot as the main melody, realistic pianos are what I personally prefer to use
