My Ice Bucket Challenge. Wait till near the end when lovely daughter nearly takes my teeth out with metal pan :-/
Una nazione intera attaccata alla tv
Craig, are you friends with Penelope Harrison?
Stuff like this is why I love youtube, nothing filmed has to disappear, kudos for the upload
would of been great if they stopped talking over the music ffs
The Panda incident. 😂
Why did they stop on my birthday?
Fairly obvious Sylvian had had just about enough of Japan and the live touring antics by this point. 'Brilliant Trees' - a total reinvention of his career and creative direction - was on the way.
I stopped listening to D.S. after Brilliant Trees.
What made you think that? Lol
@@blinksstayfresh2524 coz he wasn't obviously in the charts on totp
@@mattma96There was so much good stuff after that.
New Wave Prog Rock is a thing !
king crimson Belew period?
Yeah definitely...they heralded that sound in 81 and really it's almost any artist of that era could be labeled proggy new wave...Bowie Siouxsie Magazine Pere Ubu Devo etc etc
Anyone know why these re issues were recorded at half speed?
Why were they recorded at half speed ?
Absolutely loved japan so so underated
Awesome footage. Thank you

Tin Drum is an out and out masterpiece. Incredible album.
Mick Walk´s wow!
All Japanese music tv shows seem to just talk endlessly over artists wether they’re in an interview situation or in concert .
Wow did these guys get ripped off by Duran Duran
How?
I still wouldn't swap my original 40 year old plus pressings for any remastered re releases (not that I've not bought them lol, once a Japan fan, mmmmmm,) I just love the memories of how long Pre the releases I saved 25p a week, worn out the pvc cover as well as the cardboard! Yet still that crackle, N Humm, priceless.... 🙏👍👍
Japan is awesome ...but why not just go get the original release ? My original Polaroids sounds fantastic.
Poloriods is there best album didn't like tin drum
I agree it's there best the right balance and sounds and Rob Dean on board tin trum is good but cold and a difficult listen at times when RTC came the sound was more organic and guitars Had returned I particularly like that album All Japan's albums are good all in different ways and style I don't think apart from roxy and talk talk have a band changed so drastically in sound and image
Couldn't agree more
Nice work, Craig! Very creative.
Excellent!
Great points Craig
Used to have this disc, funny to hear it again after so many years. Remember the interviewer going on about 'so no studio album then'.
This is becoming my favorite version of European Son.
Love this song!
I think Life in Tokyo and I Second that Emotion are great songs!
Masami was so adorable gosh
Probably one of the most underrated bands I loved them still do seen david sylvian and met him lovely man
Porque lo dice?
Somewhere on YT is a video of the full performance of "Life in Tokyo". Not the greatest quality but well worth checking out. Shame the entire show doesn't seem to be available.
Would have been great if Japan went up until at least 1984. I think David Sylvian played a big part in what happened with the band.
The manager was playing on insecurities, telling them to go solo
Especially with Mick's girlfriend...
Yes, he was the singer and leader so of course
ruclips.net/video/w3NPhQjjZB0/видео.html Love this Japan sample....
Dancing panda 🤣
2020
Priceless mate
As the TV talked all over the performance, I'd love to know what they were saying! But a marvellous glimpse into the past nonetheless
Honestly, the voice-over IS SO DARN ANNOYING!!!
Such a fantastic band! I find on reissues of classic albums sometimes the artwork is shoodderly done, which is a real shame! Japan are such an iconic band definitely one of my favourites!
david speaking japanese for a sec? kewl
unfortunately the european son is incomplete :( still a great find nonetheless thank you for sharing with us
Pity for the lowest quality of the video.
Filmed by a fan, most probably. What do you expect, hi-resolution imagery? I think it's fabulous this even survived!
