I got something that will make you’re theory crumble ( keep in mind I completely skipped skybond so I may be wrong) at the end of skybond jay makes a wish to go back in time to stop clouse freeing nadakhan so his crew is still trapped in the other realms maybe doing crimes in the merged leaneds nadakan never meant the ninja and become a grommer even when clutch freed him he would have not known about there existence so trustable is just a victim of being in the worst eras in ninjago but the theory that the mayor is in ties with the vengestone and the new ninja is just ploi but since I don’t think that they are his pirate crew I just think the mayor got some criminals to be the new ninja (please correct me if I’m wrong I know this is probably wrong)

The movie being delayed ruined the Ninjago Canon, Cole was the Leader, and Lloyd was being trained up to become the New Sensai of the team. The first 5 seasons show this, with season 6 coming in and focusing of Jay, momentarily pausing Lloyd’s progression, (technically him being old still serves his plot established over the last 5 seasons, but is still a minor divergence). But with the movie being delayed Ninjago was passed to a new writer to quickly make content they weren’t expecting to make, DOTD, and Hands of time ruined so much set up and broke so much lore. With season 8 behind the scenes wanting to be a new jumping on point for the series. They were forced to keep Lloyd in this weird Leader role already filled by Cole and never actually finished the plot being set up. I’m not done watching Dragons Rising but from what I’ve seen online I’m pretty sure they’ve fixed this.

I totally agree with what you said She is such a wasted character you're telling me that Chen manipulated her her entire life/childhood then she meets Kai and becomes good like wtf. She is kinda similar to Azula for me: - both of them grew up without a mother (Ursa and whatever Skylor's mom name's was) - where just a "weapon" for their fathers and were manipulated by them (Chen-Ozai) - both are cool, pretty, badass, and skilled. Azula imo is that all her problems could have been prevented even if she was born with some of these tendencies, if she had someone, even one person, there to truly guide her, show her different, take her away from the abuse and hatred, she could've grown into someone kind, someone who could deal with these complex emotions and fears. Zuko had Iroh, but Azula was alone...arguably, Zuko's banishment was the best thing that could have happened to him. He was free, and Azula was trapped, alone, under the thumb of a maniacal, delusional leader, with nobody to teach her what love was. She maybe a firebending prodigy princess, but, under all of that evilness and meanness. She is 100% an abused victim. Her father abused and manipulated her, her mother neglected her because she was frightened of her, and her two friends betrayed her because they were secretly scared of her and where manipulated by her. So all of this abuse, neglect, and betrayal is what caused Azula to go insane. And it's the same thing for skylor, she was alone her whole life on an island with her crazy father (and clouse but we don't count him) her own father doesn't gave a f'ck about her, he only cared about her powers. When Garmadon wanted to "hurt her" he started to laugh (maybe bc he knew that Garmadon would never hurt Skylor since he changed) and she turned out fine and stayed in the kitchen (Why did they do this like seriously why! Just imagine if she joined the ninja it would've been so good to see her and nya fighting together they would've been b@dass) she's such a boring character with no personality So okay I'm not sure if my explanation is even logic (like using azula as an example) - sorry for my mistakes btw and it's my opinion btw so yeah

Frankly, if I was the Ninjago writer, I wouldn’t add romances all together outside Jaya, but without the season 3 stuff. That’s just because I feel it’s unnecessary, and the female characters should be important without being romantically involved with any of the characters.
