How to be a snatch
Man people don’t realize that the time these guys have to learn about all of these things, and still perform at the very highest level, is so short a way. Even a year or two is not a long time to have to relearn a lot of your preconceptions of what leadership is.
no mics stuck in podcasters faces... 2025 is wild.
Loved both of these guys in Winnipeg. It's so interesting to hear their in depth perception on their tenure here in Winnipeg. Glad to see they're both doing well!
it's pretty widely accepted that Gen Z is psychologicalyl very different from earlier generations. Someone born in 1997 will have a very different temperament than someone born just 5 years earlier. I think that dynamic has been really underappreciated in hockey. It's not just coaches who struggle to get through to young players, their older teammates do too
Considering how many reporters said the Jets dressing room with him as captain was the most toxic atmosphere they ever experienced and there was no accountability for the older players I would say this is a propaganda piece 😂 no self reflection or accountability still...
Great show. I am a Winnipegger, Hockey lover, and also a trained health coach, so I really appreciated many aspects of this conversation. It's so well done. Very good coaching skills here. Love your style of coaching ans conversing. Relaxed. Open. Transparent. Honest. Holding space safely without judgement. Taking a look at shadow self. Owning your mistakes. Being humble. Going through growth. I feel many can learn so much from this. Leadership takes open mind. Open kind heart. Compassion. Being humble. As well as courage and confidence. Great leaders listen to others and admit when they are wrong. And put the big picture first of an organization. Not self-centered or self indulgent. So happy to see them both doing well and working with others, using their skills. This is what makes me appreciate sports as a whole. It teaches leadership, dedication, hard work, communication, and being able to take criticism. Good skills for life.
Great episode and great Jets.
very interesting
Great episode!
Such a powerful episode!
Anybody who says Wheeler is a bully or toxic is slow in the head. When teammates are being lazy and distracted off ice stuff, thr captain has every right to get on their asses, and even if the captain is the best player on thr team which Wheeler was at the time. We were lucky to have 26 on our team and hope to see his number retired in thr rafters of Canada Life Centre. Great to see Laddy too, he was a great captain and player too.
Great interview. Two very professional athletes who left their mark on a small northern community. Much appreciated.
Blake was an absolute gem in Winnipeg. Too bad it ended that way. O7
Both Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler were amazing captains coming from a Jets fan.
Loved the part about expectations vs agreements. Such a great distinction.
Go oilers.
very insighful podcats, learned alot thank for sharing !
Glad you enjoyed it!
I hear this word salad and think WARNING WARNING WARNING
If only NFL and other teams were listening. Maybe we'd have less draft busts.
I hate how often smart gets switched with wise.
Incredible episode. A must-listen.
What a load of pretentious, corporate bullshit
*promo sm* ✔️
Love this interview. What a gem. Especially interesting to hear how Ed and Pixar have fostered such hyper creative leaders. Bravo!
Incredible conversation. So many insights on leadership.
“Intensity should not be confused with intention” 🔥
Fascinating
Great conversation! Takes the topic that much deeper, with simple clarity.
