Ooni Karu 16 gas burner going out pt 2
After the last video, yesterday, I've replaced the oven. I now have a brand new oven and a brand new burner (you saw in the previous video). Somehow I'm still having the same issue, which would seem to indicate it's on the fuel supply. I can attest that as you saw, there are multiple propane tanks that I've tried and have plenty of fuel. I honestly am lost as to what the issue is (definitely related to air flow or back pressure), but I'm still messaging Ooni and they are saying they Believe it's the piezo or FSD. I agree from a logical standpoint, but the fact that I've had two new ovens and two new burners in a week and can't keep the oven burning, I'm starting to question if I made the ...

Brand new oven and burner, keeps going out with gas. went ahead and exchanged the burner, and getting the same problem with the brand new one, which makes very little sense. In any case, this video was shot for the purpose of support from the manufacturer, but after spending more than $1000 and having a brick here, I don't know if I want to sit around waiting for support to resolve this as it w...

This was one of our first attempts to wakesurf behind an 02 Wakesetter VLX. At one point during the day the rider was able to surf without the rope, but we didn't catch that on video. We are still learning!

It's just typical today of so much junk. OOni should know better to send out junk that don't work. Mine has never worked since I bought it last year. I would make a pizza and when I brought it outside to put into the oven, it was always out.
@@Steve-hc7ix same problem I had at the beginning. Then it wouldn't even stay lit more than a few minutes. Got sick of wasting pizza and time. No complaints on my ARC though. I would have liked the Dome to have dual fuel capability, but it's twice the price of the ARC and for the few times that I might use wood or wasn't worth it.
Just opened a ticket with Ooni, with the video showing the exact same thing. We'll see how that goes.
so its still a thing? they have this problem for years lol
I understand you're a pain, my guess burner in my exact same oven will not stay lit for more than a minute or so. The front vent is open completely all the way, liver is vertical and I can see that the vent is open. The rear damper is open so I can see what is going on, the thermocouple seems to work to the point where it keeps the gas flowing, but again after a few moments up to a minute the flame will stop, if I close the damper in the rear, the flame goes out almost immediately. Some safety mechanism is tripping way too soon in two sensitive.
@@Atticman1369 that's what my hypothesis was as well. A safety feature that was faulty or too sensitive. Good luck. Ooni was going to replace it with one they were personally going to test in Texas, but at that point I lost faith (two ovens, two burners, both new and didn't work). FWIW I got the Gozney ARC XL and I love it and have not had any issues with it.
I am going to try to extend the thermocouple out a little bit. I do have the ability to measure the voltage and current using a blowtorch to make sure the thermocouple itself is generating the correct power to keep the solenoid active to hold the gas valve in the open stage.
@@cpuwhiz22okay, I extended the thermal couple out so the tip of it is in line with the burner. It seems to be working much better so far. It's going longer than it has been since I attempted this today.
@@Atticman1369 that's great. For me I was just tired of trying to make something work that was brand new. Shouldn't have to spend your time fixing something that should work. If I got a used one I would expect this, but I paid the premium to get a new one so I wouldn't have to deal with issues. That's why I gave up after replacing it without any progress. Good luck!
I've had my Ooni for about 3 months and had the same issue. I've been in contact with Ooni support the entire time and they are now testing the burner in Texas to solve the problem. I have identified the issue, after two replacements burners and thermocouples, as being a faulty thermocouple. The FSD in these burners is too sensitive and cuts the gas as various temps...very random. I did my own test with an after market thermocouple from Amazon and it solved this issue. Not a single burnout. I am still trying to work with Ooni support to find out why their thermocouples don't work. I've seen quite a few people on Reddit that have gone to the Amazon part and it also solved the problem.
@@wayneg1681 Good luck. They had offered that to me too, but after exchanging the burner and the oven so I tested two burners and two ovens, I want willing to waste more time. I bought the oven new and not used and it was pretty annoying that I couldn't use it without troubleshooting and support. Haven't had a single issue with the alternative that I replaced this with
Had the same problem. Took apart the the plate on the back of the burner that had four screws. The nut securing the thermocoupler was loose, tightened it now It works fine.
@@bloopified glad you got it figured out. I had read that online also and tried, but it didn't help me, and in any case I lost faith in it when something requires modification out of the box just to work. I'm pretty happy with what I got now (Gozney ARC XL) and have not had a single issue with it.
@@cpuwhiz22 glad to hear your new ones working. Happy Pizza.
I am having the same issue, and the same feelings😢. I open a ticket with Ooni requesting a new burner. Thank you for posting
I did that too. I will say their support was trying their best to help, but sadly after spending $1k on the oven and accessories like the burner, I didn't want to spend weeks trying to fix something brand new that should just work. I'm very happy with my Gozney ARC XL though and I've not had any issues with it. The only drawback is that it's only gas which is why I wanted the Karu, but realistically, cooking with wood is not something that I planned to do regularly, so I had to let that go because the multi fuel Gozney dome was almost 3x the price of the Ooni, and the ARC was the same price as the Karu and actually cheaper since you don't need to but the gas burner separately. Good luck!
I’m not sure if this is helpfull, but don’t you have different regulators for the gasbottle in the states depending on what type of gas you are burning? Is there not a difference between natural gas and propane?
I actually gave up after replacing the burner and the oven itself. Bought a Gozney and couldn't be happier
Hey bro mine is doing the same thing. My steering was stiff so I took it off and cleaned It pressurized some atf into it. nice and smooth but I can’t adjust it now. I have two + turns to the left and 1+ to the right. I can’t center it? what did you do to fix it?
I never figured it out honestly. I was told greasing the rudder box was the likely fix, but the grease fittings were rusted and I feared the box would break around the fittings if I tried to replace then. Ultimately I fixed it by selling the boat and buying a 23 LSV 😁
I should mention, sounds like you're just looking to align it. Do a Google search and you should be in luck. If I recall, you can disconnect the wheel from the steering cable assembly under the dash. I recall reading that you want to loosen things, then on the water get it moving straight, and then you remove and re-engage the wheel. This is my very foggy recollection of reading the process, but Google should turn up a guide (likely a post on The Malibu Crew) that will tell you how to recenter the wheel.
Sorry what was the point of that? Should not be that stiff to move. Obvious rudder box needs grease, or rebuilt or a new steering cable. If you rebuild the box and still stiff to steer you need a cable. Once water gets into a cable they will go bad over time.
DAMN THING SOUNDS LIKE MY GRANDFATHERS CAR
so.... what was it?
Hot water heater check valve
poor nick, i knows that hurt! you guys were flying! welcome home nick! haha
No co²
Where you able to fix your ectcy
Jesus Valdes I was. It has been so long though that I can't remember the exact fix. From what I recall it was a matter of tearing the regulator apart, then replacing o-rings and lubricating the components in the regulator. I also used an anti siphon tube in the CO2 tank, but believe that this was installed prior to this video so was not likely related. If you are running CO2 you can rule the gas out by using a remote cable to ensure no liquid is getting into the regulator, and if you still have issues I recommend a complete tear down, cleaning, replacement of any questionable o-rings, and lube. I used DOW 33 and hater sauce lube.
cpuwhiz22 people where saying lower velocity is that true
Jesus Valdes That could certainly be if you are running too much pressure, and at that point you rush blowing the solenoid. Could also be dwell. I'd definitely recommend using a chronometer to check your velocity if you aren't sure where it's at.
cpuwhiz22 how do you lower velocitu
cpuwhiz22 can you make an update video on it
Did you fix the problem . If u did how?
Did it ever work? Does it need a min bioload before it actually works? Mine is doing the same thing in my 30l
you cant use co2
shut the fuck up about Co2 I've used it every gun as I live in Iowa and there is no HPA and have never had problems
Co2 is crap
Co2 or your velocity is too high or your reg is missing a screw
paintballbruh i have the gun and i used compressed air and it leaks like that . What scree is missing
I just got the same skimmer and it's doing the same thing as yours. Update on how its working now?
Not much has changed but I'm starting to think it's my bio load. From time to time I add phyto feast for my corals and such, and when I did I noticed the skimmer started foaming almost instantly. I also saw the same after adding a new filter sock (which I didn't wash in advance).
Problems probably from crappy co2
i have the gog extcy and if it messes up in shooting or it wont shoot just reset it to its factory settings and then your good to use it
Somers Peat how do you reset it
That's definitely the co2
the reg gets cold when you use CO2 no matter what, as for the gun leaking, reg, asa, line. it could be a number of things
How much air do they hold and how much for each?
co2 is not the problem. im having the same problem with hpa
Replace the o-rings in your 3-way and you need to re-time it.
All you have to do is change your velocity...thers nothing broken that is the pressure relief
how do i change the velocity on it?
waterboxman how do you change velocity
jesus nilo where you able to lower it . If yes how
Screw under the regulator
but it needs a upgraded hoes to use CO2 the stock hoes is for Nitrogen
Don't use co2 check your o rings I had the same problem
You know what the problem now is, right? You don't need to use HPA, either get an anti-siphon straw put in the tank, or your other two options are to run a remote line with the tank on your back, or get a tilted ASA, since the ASA on the eXTCy stock is straight, you're feeding liquid CO2 directly into your marker. That's why the regulator is getting really cold. The sound is probably the pressure relief valve on the regulator that prevents damage to the internals.
replace the white o ring inside you qav
Zack Countryman where is that located
Your velocity is set to hi, you need to turn down the screw on the asa
TheGamerPalace how do you lower velocity
most likely a blown o ring in the regulator
put it away until you can feed it HPA get yourself a nice Tippmann!
co2 sucks bra
Check O ring?
the dwell should be 33 not 35ms...... you should be using hpa
if its leaking from the little hole at the reg its because the pressure from the co2 is to high for the gun to contain
Don't post useless, stupid comments... Read above. CO2 is the only option, otherwise I wouldn't be here. It's not like I don't know what HPA is, or that it's better...
dont use co2
take the reg off and check the oring, after that check the banjo fitting and hoses between the frame and the body also, switch that macroline to a hard steel braid Macroline is designed for a max od 800 PSI and co2 can get up to 1200 on hot days and burst your macroline
Because we play in the middle of the woods and it's easiest for us to bring a bulk CO2 tank. If I switch to HPA then everyone I play with would also need to, or I would have to bring a scuba tank and a CO2 tank.
@pb tupido let me know if you figure it out. I will do the same
they worked for me...
you have to open your wii up
you would hvae to open your wii to see what kind of clip you need either a D2pro or D2CKey, or wiiclip I would either get if i were you a D2pro or wiiclip , I have a d2pro if you need a link to find out what kind you need send me a pm
yea i bought it with the chip and its in my wii working perfectly :D
