I've just gone through this step by step and I receive a 'Network error when using Patch function: The requested operation is invalid'. Any idea if the process has changed since this video was made?
I wish he would show his whole screen and stop zooming in
OH THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN COLLECTIONS! THANK YOU
Too fast and not well explained. Nothing for beginners. 😢
Thank you. That was very helpful. I learned very much. I would appreciate it if you could help me with reporting each person every day in/lunch/out times in one row or export it to an Excel file!
Thank you very much! Very helpful
XLENT!
Excellent Videos, it will be nice to see how to intergrate location list as home office, office, ..
TY Randy! Great videos and very informative and entertaining. Nice work Sir!
Very insightful video. Thanks for sharing
This is a very good tutorial Randy. Good explanation of what is happening. However, I am unable to get the Fill to work. I am able to add a label with rowNumber just fine, but when i type ThisItem.rowNumber, intellisense isn't picking it up (not sure if this is the problem of the formula though, but the if statement is erroring with some invalid arguments If(Mod(thisitem.rownumber,2)=0, Color.LightGreen, Color.LightGreen) is my formula
Ignore me. I was putting the formula into Fill property not TemplateFill. D'oh. I'm not sure what each one of those does but never mind, its working now
Randy, i'm using Microsoft Lists and created custom form using your teqnique but instead of creating the gallery, I had the data go to the Microsoft list, but now when I click on an item on the list, it doesn't pull the data to edit. Is there a way to fix that?
Great work, very clever use of the master form and I like the fact this is very simple. Learned a lot from watching this and have replicated for some projects. Keep up the good work. 👍
Hi Randy, this is my first time watching your video, it's awesome!! Also, you have solved one of my issue, I have created a booking app which prevent double booking (it works fine) but I want to recreate the app but avoid using "Edit Form", or use individual component, my issue was, I couldn't find the "Update Data Card", you have solved that issue, thank you! 👍👍
Thank you very much for this great video on creating powerapp
This is fabulous and very close to what I need. I have a list that is completed by one person when a NEW item is received but a second person needs to add one field only that would then trigger some planner tasks. Can this be done? I haven't been able to find answers to this and I'm so green with power apps.
Good stuff! Thanks for this
Randy is the most skillful Power Apps person I ever came across Add to it the fact he loves helping and is so calm I truly miss working on Power Apps because it allowed me to be in touch with him Miss you Sir, wishing you good Luck
Randy, how the script should be re-write if all the records were associated with, let’s say, a different “customer” ? In other words, in my gallery, when filter , it brings records associated with another customer. Hopefully I have explained correctly so you can guide me. Thank you
Hi Randy, this is great. a quick question : what changes we need to do if the choice column allow multiselect?
Hi Randy, if i decide to do a lookup separate for each button which property should I use to achieve the exact same output??
Love, love this video! This solves what I am trying to do (break long records into multiple cleaner looking forms). Thank you for sharing! 💚❤💛🧡
Extremely helpful! Thank you.
It's difficult to work out what is being edited at certain point because the tree view is off screen.
What if we have 5000 items in the data source?
Network error when using Patch function: Field 'cr273_name is required. why error and how solve
Hello! first of all, this video is fantastic and very well explained! I am beginning working with Power Apps and it helped me a lot do exactly what I needed. So big thanks! I have one question though: I am working with a Sharepoint list and, when I want to remove a register, it's not working. I can see the item disappear in the gallery but not in the actual list. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the form is split but it shouldn't, right? Thanks a lot in advanced!
Hi, can anyone assist me here, I am trying to get the "ShortTime" function to work here but it won't update on the buttons when its clicked. In the video it is from 28:30 Any help would be appreciated.
Hello randy I want to track the break timming at work but I don't have the activity type I want to capture 5 different types of break all in one column for on individual which had individual log in and log out time with their headers on the table please can you help me with this
Awesome stuff!
Thanks for the video Sir. I'm stuck in one scenario, I have a combobox which is connect to a data source and based on the item selected in that combo box items are filtered in gallery. I want to select all the items in that combo box automatically when the page load where the combobox is placed. How I can achieve that?
It took me a couple of hours, but as a complete PowerApps beginner, I could follow along because your explanations were so clear. Thank you!
What about the attachment field, how can we make it work?
if anyone need this is the solution: if the data card from the attachment field is named datacard1 you need to place it in the main form attachment field in the item property of the data card like DataCardValue1.Attachments and it will work, hope it helps anyone.
Thanks for the video Randy. May I have one question? I need to add a grid gallery (excel like grid) at the middle of the form, we got few of those requests, seems quite common cases. The gallery needs to point to a different Dataverse table as the main form datasource, in this case, how I can fit the gallery inside the middle of the form? I tried to add the gallery inside a datacard, for SharePoint DataSource it works, but for Dataverse DataSource, the gallery is not able to visible. not sure if I did anything wrong for datacard does not support Dataverse gallery when it has different DataSource as the form. Can you please give some suggestions for how to fit a gallery inside a form? Thanks!
Hi how can we make it auto selected if its a check box control in which 'Select All' option is selected all options should get select in power apps
Great Video! Thank you for explaining it so thoroughly and taking the time to create it.
Thank you so much! I was struggling greatly with my app and this just solved my 2 week headache! Greatly appreciated
this is an underated tutorial. absolutely genius. it was the answer to my problem. i had one form split between two screens. every tutorial, to return the last submit to make a "Review" screen said i had to .lastsubmit. but that only works with one screen. shear genius. i like the use of one variable. i did disable and hide my gallery though
Too fast.
Does it work in dataverse?
That's a tutorial. It doesn't get any better than this and the potential has been fully exploited. Can I have some more, please!
Spend hours to find this solution on internet. Finally found this video. Thank you.!!
Does it work in dataverse?
Thank you for sharing this useful information even in 2023.
Hey Randy. This is fantastic. Thank you. I'm trying adapt this to track temp employee's times utilizing a dropdown with the temps names to log the check in/out times. rather that the glbuser id. Any suggestions on where to begin with that.? I've created a separate list with temp names to populate the dropdown, however unsure how to adapt the response from that to act as your glbuser did on the Time Tracker list. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ~Robert
Normally forms do not have a collective on the final screen as you demonstrate. In the case, how can you submit all the collected data using the SubmitForm command if the fields are not present on your final screen? To get around this, I added all the fields used in the previous screens but turned off their visibility. Curious to know if you have a recommendation.
Randy, Great App....I 'm trying to switch to a sql server table ? But now the times will not switch on the button when logging in etc? Should that make any difference. ?
Thank you so much for posting this, when I created the app though my clock in times for my buttons all defaulted to 12:00 am and I cant seem to get them to update correctly to the actual time. Also when I added the time change option it all works but it doesn't update the time on the main screen. From what I can tell all of my codes matches yours.
Hey, Great Video! Thank's a bunch!
Can you add more: Employeer Name and email?
Thank you Randy. Here's a formula based on a people field in a SharePoint List. All is at the top, otherwise sorted by the DisplayName (Last,First) of the people field With ({lclChoices: Sort(ForAll('MySharePointList',ThisRecord.MySharePointPeopleField),DisplayName)}, ForAll( Sequence(CountRows(lclChoices)+1), {Value: If(Value=1 ,"All" ,(Last(FirstN(lclChoices, Value-1)).DisplayName) )} ) )
