Great job in your reviews, invasives demand a critical eye to emphasize their effects on natural populations of those ecosystems. Continue to keep specific numbers andpetcentage cover values to evaluate how successful Sargassum muticum is, and define practical techniques to remove it as an unheralded Species very likely causing stressors to the native biota.
Great web cam dude! Love the auto wash🎉 💃🏻🌊🐿
Great job Abbie Ward
All I have been reading and hearing that Africa are blessed with herbs and roots, till I met #Doctorojie on RUclips who helped me cured my hiv virus after I have comfirm positive after 2years i was miraculously cured again this is really good news please I want everyone to see and follow to celebrate and support herbs
Obsessed!
Nice stuff
How inspirational! My young sons watched this and have a better understanding of what it takes to be a scientist. Thank you!

Just follow the snail trail
Great seminar with eye opening awareness of the public's perception of protecting our coral reefs and as it pertains to money ---- insurance coral fee access funding & educational and coral brigades support. Thanks, Dr. Carlson!👏
Excellent research! It takes a bright mind to pay attention to the subtleties of the environment.
Yay Jacquie and Maya!!!!!!!
Beautifully done! Now bring in the sea otters.
What an incredibly special opportunity to learn about this beautiful place!
Oh, I thought they were feeding lsd to snails. This is boring
Hate to insert science into your narrative but someone needs to. "Acidic oceans" really, who flunked chemistry, geology and geophysics? CaSiO3 + H2CO3 → CaCO3 + H2O + SiO2 CaCO3 + H2CO3 → Ca(HCO3)2 Or do I need to spell it out for you? Coral Reefs? Half a trillion in the Pacific Ocean: phys.org/news/2021-03-trillion-corals-world-first-coral-prompts.html New reefs discovered: phys.org/news/2020-11-coral-reef-australia-great-barrier.html
Thanks for saving these starfish's lifes!
Interesting stuff... currently reading Callum Roberts' "The Unnatural History of the Sea", which talks about the onslaught on the abalone species in the chapter 'Ghost habitats'; worth a read.
This is fascinating. Can you upload more video about how to breed, how to fertilise the abalone eggs and how to grow diatoms for the food source from start to finish
I live in Washington State and dive in Puget Sound weekly. I am not convinced that an actual recovery is occurring for SSWD. Every late Summer/Fall I see more stars contracting the disease and I see very little recruitment. Some are as you say recovering after having lost an arm, but then they may die on a second or third round with the disease. Recently I saw an adult pycnopodia (24 inches across) go from looking healthy to a mass a goo in 2 days. It seems the disease has slowed but that it will take a few more years to see if much recovery happens for certain species. Please do keep working on it. We need to understand what is happening.
Wow. Thank you for this eyewitness report. Also super jealous you get to dive Puget.
I really thought this was going to be about LSD making snails more intelligent
Me too!
Increases in PH will dissolve Calcium Carbonate. Because snails are highly attracted to calcium carbonate they will be less likely to move in calcium rich environments. Although this experiment did not have higher levels of environmental calcium in the water, it may have elevated levels of calcium due to the degradation of the snail's shell. What molecules do the snails use to detect the sea stars? jeb.biologists.org/content/213/9/1471#:~:text=In%20conclusion%2C%20we%20found%20that,no%20morphological%20effects%20are%20apparent.
Maybe the lower ph just means that they have less salt in their system and can't leave the water or else they'll dehydrate.?. 🤔
I heart banjo filters!
This is just borderline retarded, how do you correlate intelligence to your experiment results based on pictures of its movement in the bucket
Take a plant, remove a percentage of c02 from the atmosphere. Now the the plant get used for 5 days to it's new environment and watch it flourish.
Incredibly interesting! Could it be that the pH is affecting the interaction of the receptor and the sea star smell?
Really glad to be part of this history in the 70s and 80s when I enjoyed teaching with Cadet Hand, Ralph Smith, and Michael Ghiselin. Included in that history was bringing Rick Grosberg to Bodega as an outspoken, opinionated student. Little did I know that he would end up being a major mover and shaker there some 40 years later, still outspoken and opinionated.
way to go Jason ! ! !
