    You'll be replacing that wood in 3-6 months. Left bare and completely untreated, it will warp, bend, twist and rot in a very short amount of time. Also, your paint will begin chipping, because you failed to prime the metal first. All that work for nothing. 🤷‍♂

    • @idiybysonia

      No, with Polyurethane finish on this piece, it is sealed. Several coats applied. Thankfully, Rustoleum is aware that the DIY community needs an “all in one solution” to such things and they have delivered. Now….nothing is without maintenance right? So the new owner was provided enough knowledge to keep the piece useful and beautiful 🤷🏽‍♀️😱

    Wow, as a technician sometimes you may forget things like a glove or something small. But what also is annoying is when a resident follows around especially with a video camera documenting every move. Getting that water heater from the attic to the ground then installing one is not an easy job. I understand your frustration, just be grateful

    • @idiybysonia
      @idiybysonia Год назад

      I was grateful, but also very aware that some worker’s work ethic changes when observed. I don’t question the amount of money asked for when I hire subs, I pay up - in full- on the day of completion or according to contract, but as a consumer, I want only what I am paying for….not additional work or issues caused by those same workers that I am paying. Thankfully, the workers had no objections to the recording and appreciated the honest feedback.

      When it’s your money that pays for a service and you choose to live in a capitalist society such as ours, workmanship carries value. T Your home is one of the major investments one will make in their own lifetime, DON’T LET ANYONE DEVALUE WHAT YOU WORK FOR. It’s a beautiful thing that we can review a job and share it with others so that UNSCRUPULOUS work gets called out and people are not taken advantaged of. This footage is informative and remains posted.

    This is really great and helpful , im looking at a house and the water tank is up in the attic and its 20 years old i know that needs to be replaced and how it all goes up and down the stair like that its just a old wooden pull down thing didnt know if they used a cable with a pulley that attached to the beams of the roof of how they did , those are super heavy .. was that a 40 gallon one i was wondering ? I wouldnt want them leaving a mess either that is totally wrong . Glad you posted this so now i know what to expect how this is all done ~ also this is something to get in case you didnt know they have these little water detectors its like the size of a smoke detector and you put if under a sink or next to a water heat so if anything leaks water and hits that it will alarm so you will hear it and know right away water leak.. instead of it leaking for a while then it starts to come through the ceiling. i just found out about this . so its good to have im sure.. Thanks so much ~

    • @idiybysonia

      I think it is 40 gallons, I could be mistaken. I am saving up for a tankless system…because I don’t like this much water being on the second level and the costs involved with having this type of system. Thanks for commenting.

    If you are blind you will be frustrated if you watch this video. Of course if you are down here you already probably know that. In case you read comments first though like I sometimes do, only there were none on this one so I couldn't, When this nice lady is actually speaking everything is wonderful. She does a really good job making the sound quality of her voice exceptionally good for example. I appreciate that a whole bunch. However, every little while she switches over to the method of playing music and showing pictures and that's really! awful if you aren't expecting it. It happens several times so you don't get all of the information you need if you can't see. Just enjoy the parts where she does talk and you'll learn some valuable things. At the end she shares an experience she had at the park that blew her away it was so unusual. This part does nott include sounds though so we'll just have to make up our own mind blowing story to think about. It's probably not going to be as interesting as the one on this video but what can you do about that? It's got something to do with a huge family I think but I'm guessing. I really REALLY do wish this lady had talked all the way through her demonstration because she has a very pleasant voice and she does a great job of describing things as far as it goes. Sometimes I wish everyone got to watch youtube without the advantage of all this visual stuff. That'll never happen though. My own family won't do it for even five minutes. Too bad. They might change the way they recorded their videos if they would just make a couple of changes. They could still use their pictures and their music if they wanted to, but they could also continue describing what's happening out loud for people who can't see those pictures. There are folks who actually DO record their voice the whole time they are doing their demos. Even vacuum cleaner people. So, ... it's possible to do it like that if a person is willing to take just a little extra time and just talk. It might add 2 or 3 minutes to the whole thing. Probably less. I'm trying to find the instructions for this machine online. One thing I can tell you is that you won't be able to feel any of the markings on the pitcher for ice or water so you'll just have to experiment. That's kind of sad too really but not a huge shock. I can remember a time when markings were raised so people could feel them. I know. I'm older than dirt. I promise it's true though. It was nice while it lasted. Made learning to cook a lot of fun. I'm off to continue my search for a youtube video where a person talks about everything so I won't do something backwards and cause a disaster. Wish me luck!
