Review of new Smittybilt 75L Basecamp Fridge/freezer Just picked up the brand new Smittybilt Base camp Fridge/freezer from 4 Wheel Parts Now I've been an ARB guy and I know and I never a million years thought I'd own one of these. Yet these new ones with the LG compressors are amazing. And for the price point you can't go wrong. 3 weeks ago I just used the ARB in the Bush for a week. Again this...

how do you like 360 ?? good distance light spread ??
They're amazing there's no way you could overdrive them, you can't overdrive the LED headlights for that matter. I won't post what speeds I've done lol. Yet there's two spots and two floods on the front. The two spots even in a blizzard in Canada cuts right through the snow and the floods help as well. Plus the ditch lights are rigid, same thing one spot one flood in the mountains amazing.
@drakesis When you say five speed, is yours a manual? I did not think they came with a manual transmission. Or are you talking about the CVT 5 speed? Regardless with one adult and regular luggage there's not that much stress at 110 km/h. It does rev a little high for my liking if you push it any faster than that, especially if there is a heavy wind. Regardless, my only point was you add two heavy adults, a couple dogs and a lot of luggage. And I had to redo the timing chain cover as I was getting blowout. That's a whole different story. Anyway I hope you're enjoying the car, my wife bought hers brand new and we've had it since day one. In 2015 knock on wood, so far so good.😊
Was it consuming oil to change the PCV ?
Yes it was, as this is an older video. It is doing it again. Believe it or not. I'm going to have to change the PCV valve again. This engine seems to be as bad as the 3.6 l that FCA Canada puts out. Most notably in all the Jeep Wranglers prior to the JL.
@@dannycameo859 I've noticed the same on mine, everything runs fine, no leaks, coolant is clean, etc but consumes 1L per 1500-2000 km. Its how I found your video
@@drakesisYes this one does consume a little. Not quite as much as yours. One thing I've noticed is this little machine is not meant to be packed with passengers and be put on long road trips, just as one example. We did that when this machine was new. Driving approximately 800 km each way. With two passengers, animals and a ton of luggage. It used a lot of oil as that CVT transmission is not geared to where it is optimal under load. So with one passenger and light gear running around the city or on shorter trips it does just fine and does not use that amount of oil. Under stress this little engine cannot handle it. With all of this said, the oil in the PCV valve I believe is just a simple engineering dud, so to speak. As I mentioned prior on the Jeeps 3.6 l it's the same thing, these PCV valves get clogged up very easily and need to be changed at intervals that are not normal. I'm not sure if you're going through the same thing with oil in your PCV valve let's say every two to three oil changes? Or once a year? That is what we are experiencing. Besides that how else is yours running?
@@dannycameo859 ive been doing 800-1000 km day trips, highway speeds, its 5 spd. Fairly new vehicle to me, I went from Toyota Echo to Micra. Some differences for sure.
I have the same Nissan 20kkms oil on the oil filter the pcv valve will not make a difference it is the other hose that goes into just after the air filter from the engine near the oil cap I am installing a oil catch can.
I'm not sure what you mean you have oil on the oil filter? Also what is installing a catch can have to do with the PCV valve? The catch can on a 1.6 l 4-cylinder engine seems a little excessive? I have one on my Cummings diesel. I've also put one on my 392 Hemi. Yet not on this little four banger Anyway it might help sometimes they do. Depending how much oil the catch can will catch in between oil changes. With that said, I still not sure quite what your comment means. If the PCV valve is clogged, it needs to be changed. Actually since this video was made it needs to be changed again. In my Jeep with the 3.6 l pennistar same thing you have to change them out regularly. I'd be curious if you could explain your comment a little clearer. I'm interested to know why you feel it's necessary to install a catch can.
@@dannycameo859 We have 2017 Micra only 17kms oil on filter oil vapor caused it. Yes we changed the oil. But all theses modern cars have to burn off the vapor's. Remove the vapor's with catch can. Yes you are right we should not have too. It is a manufacturer issues which also causes lspi.
@@angelab9819I understand what you're saying about the oil vapors, all engines will do this, some worse than others. Diesels are notorious for this. That's why on my Cummings I have a catch can. Even my larger Hemi engines. Yet on this little commuter of my wives putting a catch can in seems a little extreme. You can I'm not saying you're wrong, I'd be curious to see how much oil you get in that catch can between oil changes. As the sump in this little four banger I believe only holds if I can remember correctly 3.5 l. I'm glad a catch can works for you. For me everything's going just fine, with changing the PCV valve every 3 years or so. Same is my 3.6 l in my Jeep. I have a friend multiple friends actually that have catch cans on their 3.6 l pennastar engines. None of them get enough oil between oil changes in their catch can to make it worthwhile in my opinion.
That's nuts dude! I want to get this setup badly, but if I pay what I think these cost I'll have to sacrifice the light bill for a few months and just shine the lights through the window 😂😂😂
I owned one down to same color. Bought new 1977 while in college. Almost brings tears to A grown man. Its condition is horrible. A😊shame previous owner abused it.
Had to sell my beloved 2019 power wagon due to divorce, saw ur video pop up on my feed with those massive rigid lasers. Amazing set up brother, use it well!
Thanks for your video .
You are welcome
if you have a levis jeep... and youre going to spend the money on it... do the seats right.... You sure thats a J10.. it has the large pack springs.. that came on J20's.. or thi J10 was ordered with the 2200lbs spring
I need only 2 Levi pins to restore my 1979 bench seat.. any idea where to get them?
@@edohrling5205 the buttons that went on the seats ? I have a whole bag of them.
Impressive
Great video🎉
Thanks appreciate it tried to be as in-depth as possible and show the things that I would want to know
Your truck looks awesome! It looks like you have the A pillar light bracket. Where did you find one for a Ram?

I own a Levi's Edition j10 Honcho from 77. My dad bought it new. Has around 500k miles on it after several rebuilds over the years. Still a daily driver. Why not have the interior done properly with the jeans and the Levi's rivets?
Great job, no doubt you now own the night 👍
Thanks 👍
