@@matteoagustin8330 We're talking about a horror scenario, which majority of the time the protagonist lives alone, or knows already they are going to be alone for the night because there's is something else going on that they didn't go to. There are plenty of cases where "Hello?" is a decently reasonable response, but majority of the time the scene has been set up for it to be obvious it's not someone they know, like a window crash, or they were on the phone with the killer recently before the weird stuff started.

If someone broke in what would make the difference I don't think a burglar would say something like "yeah I'm in the TV room you want to watch some TV before I take it?"
