As a native of KC, pretty much every concrete bridge and structure that's anywhere near 100 years old gets credited to Pendergast concrete. The railroad bridge over Independence avenue is a perfect example. It's been hit by trucks hundreds of times, yet still stands strong. Whether Pendergast built it or not, he comes to mind every time it survives another hit.
I kind of like his concrete-based corruption. He made all of our old buildings unbelievably sturdy so he could skim off the top.
Those times were tough my grandma told me stories about them
Ndparents had 8 kids during this time.

I can only go by what I am reading. Can rabbits raised for meat and manure escape to become invasive? Are there varieties of rabbits that cannot survive outside of captivity? Try insect farming Have all farmers learned whatever they need to do know to be completely organic, completely sustainable, and completely environmentally wise ? Thank you for sharing informative videos!
I'm from the Philippines and yet I've learned a lot about this having completed reading The 1939 book Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and the 2021 book The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
You will also want to read Whose Name Are Unknown by Sonora Babb. It was written in 1939, around the same time as the Grapes of Wrath..

They actually killed the rabbits by beating them to death. Research how they did it. They herded them into pens and beat them to death with sticks.
Who is the female narrator? Sounds like Keke Palmer
The federal government recommended what farmers should grow and must've neglected to suggest cover crops so that soil doesn't remain barren in off seasons. As for the rabbits: that is what happens when you kill their natural predators such as fox, bobcats, cougars, wolves, raccoons. Where I live now, there are many rabbits and almost no one allows their pets outside. There was a rabbit overpopulation problem in some areas of Australia - after they killed off all of the dingoes (predators). My granddad and 2 or 3 of his brothers left Arkansas around this time and all moved up north to work in a huge factory. They saved their money and after 15 to 20 years, returned to AR to open businesses and buy small houses.
Ah yes, more follies of free private enterprise.
Robert Altman grew up in that period there, and made a movie, "Kansas City". In the director's comments on the CD, he pretty much confirms what's being presented here.
nothing to do with poor farming methods ..... there were many excessively high temperature years leading up to the dust bowl , from the 20's to the 40's there were many heat waves that dried up the land .... the rate of these began decreasing in the late 1940's and the land stopped heating up and drying out ..... this is the major factor that drove the dust bowl of the 1930's
My grandpas friends dad used to run a garage and he had to go down to his headquarters to fix cars and to get paid
Thanking FDR and 3 letter agencies... Oh man.
Of course the city bosses rigged the elections...the humorous side is that the elected officials & media elites want the public to believe there's absolutely no voter fraud happening. Now that's funny!!
I guess the difference today is that there is more than ample evidence to show this happened back then.
The best videos of the Dust Bowl were taken down by RUclips, cause they didn’t emphasize their Climate Lies
EXACTLY
You cannot pretend "the entire country would be prosperous in the 30s"...Even the song mention the farmer has always been poor. And Black people lived in misery + no civils rights. Which country are talking about ? Even in your rich countriy, there 40 millions of poor people, due to inequalities.

Draining the qualifiers, killing off of native species. Going to lead to erosion. The native american people have eaten other foods instead of wheat. Acorns for one thing. Can be leached, dried and turned into flour. The trees themselves help prevent soil erosion. There has got to be more native species that can be used.
