Companion Leisure 75litre Dual Zone Lithium Fridge
We’ve been camping now for a long time. Like everyone we started with the bare essentials - a tent, gas cooker and simple lighting along with the good old esky. I visited Heron Island way back in 1990. I was just 14 years Old at the time. Now I have a family (two boys aged 10 & 12) we're planning our big trip to see family and friends in Australia for Christmas this year (2025) and we're planning Heron Island so I can take my boys to such an incredible place to experience as I did way back in 1990! Can't wait! Thanks for this great trip down memory lane. Can't wait to go back!

I went there in 1978 for a prmary school excursion from Sydney. The stars at night were unforgettable.
I'm going in 5 days time. This is the type of comment I was hoping to see. I remember being on a boat at 16 & was 100km off the coast & the stars were mind blowing. I've got a 11 & 8 yr old I want to show them the real night sky not a suburban night sky.

Plan to go late Feb. It's a dream adventure for us. Did you take your own snorkeling gear, mask, snorkel, fins....or do they supply you with it all?

i was there to research marine species as a master student of UQ in 2004. there is a station of UQ, I guess.... wow...good to see it again.
Are the sting rays safe to swim with i would really like to go there next year

We went to Heron a while back and it is an awesome spot, I also did a you tube vid on Heron. We also went to Lady Elliot and found elliot to be an awesome place too, not too many birds like Heron, But insane diving etc. Pretty much both are great. Be safe and Live life Brad

Go to Franklin Island in cairns. You will see 6-8 turtles at least. and beautiful coral
